As a 39 year old genesis/xbox fan I gotta tell you your doing God's work warning people about digital distribution and also keeping the memory of og sega alive !!!!!! Also og xbox was a dreamcast 2 and everyone knows it

This amount of RAM might actually make Half Life 2 run at full speed which would be pretty cool to see
Amazes me how consoles come and go but the OG Xbox continues to be the tinkerer's paradise.
Pretty cool but to deep in to the rabbit hole for my taste. Soft mod and top line component cables currently does the trick for my PAL Xbox

This solely depends on how the games are formatted/converted.
Nice. I used to collect a lot for the OG Xbox. I recently got a duke and the xemu emulator on an emulation PC I built. Xbox has so many nice versions of that generation’s games.
I still like mechanical drives, I have a 1tb Toshiba in a ps3 that's fast enough to max out the system's bottle neck and is whisper quiet and produces virtually no excess heat.
I was watching this and was just thinking none of this matters unless it's now a quiet system but then you said it's loud. 😬 Surely being a silent console would be a better mod

Why do u guys like the xbox so much its so trash. Is it because it's American made? They make the industry worse rather than making it better by having drm in their consoles and always online.
@@Extreme2SwaggerHD Actually they don't have those policies in any of their consoles. Sony is the one taking away digital content linked to Discovery from their PlayStation consoles. Adam's done multiple videos recently on the subject.
@TJay_Retro yh they don't have those policies now but they could still pull the rug from under your feet in the future, for example with that all digital Xbox brooklin console that Microsoft said was "adorably all digital". And that thing wasn't Sony's fault anyway that was on discovery.
@@Extreme2SwaggerHD I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but eventually all consoles will be digital, and the only ones having the rug pulled from underneath them are the people buying them. Also, Discovery isn't removing their content from PlayStation. Sony is. It seems you just want to hate on Xbox, because it makes you feel special, but hating pieces of plastic that happen to play games isn't special either. It's delusional.

He didn’t write those HDD patches.
The work was done by Doom, they’re called Titan.
Previously the lba patches were done by Paul Bartholomew.
I hope this is capable of an elgato 60s because That's what I use to live stream and the program doesn't work well with ps5
I’ve been supporting Adam for a few years now..this is my guy..my Dreamcast brother…number one console of all time..just my opinion,we all know ps2 holds that title💯

I've been on a massive OG Xbox game buying spree as of late as a collector - so many gems to be had from this era, and the games hold up amazingly.
Couple questions I hope you can or someone else can answer Adam:
1) Is it possible to buy an all in one system with this mod as my soldering skills are whack!
2) Is this Chihiro compatibility still limited to the 3? (Outrun 2 Beta, Virtua Cop 3 and Ghost Squad) with 128mb upgrade. Been wanting to play more games but not sure if they cracked them yet myself.
3) Have you tested this with Insignia as I was looking to tinker around with some online games

I just got one of these with a 1.4ghz CPU and 128mb of ram... I have a mClassic and a $3500 LG G3 Oled and a $1500 dolby atmos sound system so I have a REALLY nice classic xbox setup lol
EAX games like Halo CE sound wonderful btw.
I will also be getting a retrotink and xbe patches to play Halo CE and 2 in 60fps.
I love things like this but I don't know how-to do any of it.
I would like to get something like this with all Sega Saturn rpgs on it.

Cool with 21st century 3D printing, more internet for all generations, consoles will live almost forever coz' generations of engineers and designers will mod them :-)

I am interested in buying an Xbox with Stellar HDMI but I have some questions. Does the original Xbox have true widescreen support? I mean the PS2 has widescreen pnach codes for almost all games out there. Is there an equivalent for the Xbox Original?
Case by case basis on the games. I think all the native 720p games do.

I guess im suspect on upgrades its been 6 months in beta. That said, for what it offers as is it is still tempting.

well that answers if SSD is possible. they say useless on ps3 but, app install times and updates go super fast now
When anyone tells you an SSD is useless on older tech, that's when you give them a "that's great champ."
I love your videos so much I'm just going to say awesome video but not watch it. I modded my N64 with RGB Advance. It went great, did my PS2 Slim with Retro GEM, systems fan works way too hard now, now we got this and it's not even the first HDMI mod for Xbox. Will all due respect it's made me realize the risk with these mods is once it's installed you better make sure you go right through that whole console and make sure it doesn't need any other maintenance. Disc Drive, Hard Drive, Caps leaking...I picked up an Xbox at a Salvation Army for 4.99 and it works better than the one I bought for 40 at a Toy Vault. The video signal on the Toy Vault one has wavy lines running through the picture. It's not there when I used my setup on the SA Xbox. I'd imagine maybe this mod would fix my issue? The video port might be bad. Or maybe it's worse and it's the graphics card.

I just noticed that i actually bought my xbox 20 years ago in december 2003 as a 15 year old and i still own it. Had to take it home by bike and the package barely fitted between the stem and the sattle, so i drove home with spreaded legs like if someone kicked me in the balls...😂
Really cool to see and thanks to Dustin for pushing the OG Xbox along. I resurrected my Xbox earlier this year, added a 1 TB SSD and loving it!
Nxdk needs a stellar branch so we can use the features like sd card ect. As of now they focus on stock xbox with zero support for ram and such😢

In 30 years of HDD I have owned.... I have only had 1 fail and thats because I dropped it. I feel most people complaining about them are abusive with them, especially if they are constantly moving stuff while its running and dropping them ADAM I have seen you do that consistently

Depends on who you ask. At the very least you should know the 1.6 revision needs a little more hands on for these mods.

I wonder how well a Dreamcast emulator would work on the original Xbox.
Probably not so well, it's tough emulating a foreign architecture to begin with, let alone for a system in the same generation.
It wouldn't work at all. Dreamcast even has some advantages over Xbox in certain places.

Probably, but I don't know why you'd want to do that. Most of the benefits of a modded console wouldn't work.

The original dashboard is always on there, it can be opened from inside of the hacked dashboards. It just won't boot to it by default.
Always good to see a new mod option for a classic console. This one looks VERY promising and VERY awesome!

Dont use SSDs in these older consoles. The console's OS does not support TRIMM operations and TRIMM is needed to maintain the health of the SSD drive for the long term. Just use a 2.5" SATA HDD.
According to the product page, "Native ATA TRIM support." Whether it actually does that, no clue.
Modern SSDs do their own trash collection, they're fine in Xbox PS2 or wherever else
@@mbe102 TRIM on an SSD requires that either the SSD's internal garbage collection systems support the file system, which the XBOX file system isn't supported on SSD internal garbage collection mechanisms, and you need an OS that supports TRIM and can read and write to the file system being used on the SSD.
There is no point in using an SSD in these older consoles, you aren't getting any speed advantages or anything of that sort. Just use a 2.5" SATA drive connected up via an IDE controller adapter. You will max out the IDE interface well before the HDD becomes the bottleneck. Modern SATA drives are quite fast and have large caches.

The Xbox File System is not supported.
Thus it's up to the OS to perform those functions and since the Xbox OS doesn't support those functions, well you get the idea.
Maybe in the future MakeMHz can add that feature to the OS when you mod using their kits.

It also requires the interface to the system be SATA, not IDE. And just because the drive is SATA and supports the feature, doesn't mean it can use the feature without support and calls via AHCI to the drive from the OS.
XBOX = IDE, not AHCI SATA + No TRIM support.
It wasn't a thing in 2000 so sure enough it's not a thing on the Xbox. Not to mention you have to be using a file system that is supported, the Xbox File system, again, is not a supported file system.

The original xbox is a terrible console. The 360 is the complete opposite. Stay away from the original xbox. Microsoft admitted themselves it was a bodge job

@@AdamKoralik it was was on the official xbox documentarys from a few years ago.... anyway I've owned 2 of these consoles and it's not a polished console or experience. It was a sad time... from dreamcast to xbox. A loud dvd player at best

This thing was an absolute beast of a console at the time, and for emulation with a modchip, far better than anything else around, console wise. It was also a continuation of the Dreamcast with all the Sega games it got early on. 360 was great too but a very different kind of experience.
More reason as to why the original Xbox is the best Xbox.
