Looks great! love these longer cuts.
Ah, thank you so much, Mr. Holm, as it so happens, I was just looking for this type of video to cut my brother's hair who happens to have the same length of hair as this gentleman in the video. You have helped a great deal and I sincerely thank you!! :)
You are so welcome!
Oh I wish I'd have seen this a couple of weeks ago. My son wants to grow his hair out (looks like the lad in the video funnily enough), anywho, I thought I'd give it a little trim and now he's gone from looking like Kurt Cobain long lost cousin, to a long lost member of The beatles bless him lol. Gonna save this video for in the future. Thanks for sharing this how to do video. It's much appreciated 🙂
The beatles and nirvana seems like to pretty good options to me. But I hope this video helps in the future
Hey man, I really love how you scissor cut. I have implemented so many good tips from you. Things barber college just doesn't cover, so thanks. Could you do a breakdown on the different types of sectioning you do and what styles use what sectioning. If possible - I know doing videos is alot of work.
Thanks again for the great content
Thank you so much. Im not too big on sections, it's a great way to manage hair but the longer you cut hair the less you make sections. That said it is useful information so I will try and include more in future videos
thank you you are a hero
you are my find! you're cool ! I got inspired and bought a hair clipper! thanks for your lessons ❤
Thank you
Looking forward to seeing more creative videos like this one 👍👍👍👍👍👍 cool video 👍
customer is pretty
Thanks you so much
Lovely
Thanks so .ich for this. It really helped me with my 12 yo sons hair.
You are so welcome!
Nice
Very precise, very clear.😊
Looks Good!
🔥🔥🔥
By the way, Mr. Holm, I am seriously considering taking your course on Udemy, a course I'd be proud to take. It's not that I wish to go into barbering and/or open a shop. In my case, I just want to learn the trade for my very own knowledge and perhaps only cut the hair of my immediate family, but that would suit me just fine! Taking your course would be gratifying and useful. I just wanted to share this with you!
You might find some more useful content in the course. It isn’t a massive course but does include some theory that I don’t include on RUclips.
@@theoneminutebarber Great! You're an awesome person, Mr. Holm! I'm truly grateful to you!
@@theoneminutebarber Just one more question: When I start your course online, seeing that it is a three-hour course, will it be possible to pause and continue?
Yes Canpat you can pause and rewind anytime. And you can also go back and watch anytime as you will have lifetime access
@@theoneminutebarber Wonderful!! You're the best, Mr. Holm!!! Stay well, sir!!
Very nice .😊
Do you have any youtubevideo on how you handle the scissors while clipping? How you are holding the scissor and combe? I wish you could learn us that 🥰
In the description of this video there is a link to my Udemy course. The course has a free lesson on how to hold the scissors.
Very good, how about trimming the hairline? I always struggle around the ear and not entirely sure how to do that
I will try and cover that in the next long hair video
Tremendous
Hi Michael! Can razor and scissors slicing both give a very choppy wispy look (like Leon Kennedy)? How are the two methods different? :D
The razor is much more severe than slicing. Slicing should be used to manipulate small areas, create some separation and texture while the razor can do all that and heavily texture the hair
Hi! Very useful video!
I’m wanting to cut my bf’s hair using this video but he styles his hair downwards and to the side. Will this cut create a bowl cut? I’m just trying to avoid that. Thank you!
No it won’t create a bowl cut you can use this method. My next video will be another version of this which is a layered long hair cut.
Love your videos! You are a great barber with a big knowledge!
Can I ask you in what cases you do layer the fringe (to a round shape) ?
I think it's tailored individualy for each client. Rarely would I cut a square fringe on a man with long hair, that is a common shape for women's hair. A uniform layer works really well on men's hair which basically copies the hairline shape.
At 0:03, instead of radial section guidelines, how would the result differ if horizontal section guidelines were used like your other videos?
If I was using the two different methods I would still want the same result. Taking radial sections can be a more natural way to cut as it's working along the lines the hair wants to lay.
am a new stylist but people ask me to trim it above the ear how would you do it in a neat way

Hello again, Mr. Holm! I’d like to have some clarification regarding your video titled “How To Scissor Cut Long Mens Hair | Create Layers and a Perimiter”. My brother has the same length of hair as the young man in the video; however, he wants it much shorter. So, I entend to do exactly what you did in the video, every step of the way, but I simply need to cut his hair with the straight razor the length my brother wants his hair, right? I mean, nothing else needs to change? Just wondering. Thanks so much!
Yes just use exactly the same method only adjust for the length you want
@@theoneminutebarber Thank you so very much, Mr. Holm! I knew this was a dumb question, but wanted to ascertain whether it would affect the method of doing it. Thanks again!!
Where can i get a haircut from you? Where are you based? Any recommendations for Glasgow area forvlong/medium hair barbers?
Bush barbers is a great shop in Glasgow. I’m about 3 hours from glasgow
หล่อมาก
I’m enjoying your content.
Would you become creative if a person has slightly thinner lines to make it appear fuller and thicker ?
Cause from what I can see most barbers make it worse on some clients on this app. Haha
When you are trying to make hair look thicker it can be like holding back the tide.
That looks like a simple cuts haircut. Minus the simple
Not sure if that's a good or bad thing?
🥰🥰🥰👍👍👍👏👏👏
At 2:15 for the front fringe, why is the hair cut while it's hanging down, instead of lifted perpendicularly for a more layered effect? 😃
Good question. This is so I can cut a perimeter. I want to know at the very start where the edge of the haircut will be.
Is it possible for me to give myself this haircut?
It would be extremely difficult to do this yourself
So, you literally follow a straight line when cutting on the top of the head towards the nose. I've followed the curvature of the head. Now I know why I'm not getting g the look I'm going for...SMH, you make it look so easy...just call me, self taught and still learning. Pray for my subjects who are ALL related well and have no choice! Lol.
You can also match the head shape there is nothing wrong with that. It's what's technically known as a uniform layer.
@@theoneminutebarber that makes sense. I really like the way it looked when you were done. Next time I'm going to try this with my middle grandson. His hair has a real nice wave to it and I think this technique will work great with his type of hair. Thanks again.
Those spray bottles don’t last too long. They always break.
I agree, they break a lot. I inflate mine by lowing into it like a balloon every time I fill it up. But they are cheap enough that you can buy ten of them for about the cost of one haircut
@@theoneminutebarber. Idk. We are only getting $32 a cut here in CT.
You'll easily get a pile of spray bottles for that
