I think this is only Floor's 2nd concert ever with Nightwish. She only had 48 hours to fly straight from the Netherlands where she was attending her sister's wedding, and learn the entire setlist on the way. I don't think there are a lot of vocalists who would or could do that. Floor saved the Nightwish 2012/2013 Imaginaerum tour for both Nightwish and the fans! Bless her big 'ol heart!

I loved Tarja, I adored and loved Anette. I have seen Anette live and Floor Jensen twice. She mixes both styles made famous by both Tarja and Anette and made it her own. If Anette returns then Fine but i will be happy if Floor is signed next!

The music in the beginning is "Roll Tide" performed by Hans Zimmer from the movie Crimson Tide. Tuomas (the lead songwriter and keyboardist) mentioned that song as one of his main sources of inspiration.

Out of all songs, I honestly think storytime is the hardest for Floor to sing... She still does a heck of a job. Should see her perform ghost love score, my jaws hit the floor there.

It depends on the band. In the case of Nightwish, it is all Tuomas. They were #1 with Tarja and with Anette, and likelyl will remain so with Floor. A distant #2 has passed between others. A Nicole-led VoA, then Epica, and perhaps now a retooled Xandria?

I think Floor is by far the best live singer NW ever had. And she has no problem pulling of my old favorite songs, and thats all that matters to me..
But i have problems seeing how they will be able to keep her.

I heard she was leaving in November anyway and Floor was the replacement for the tour, all they did was move it forward (theres a press release in Tuomas's website in the forums).

Es el mismo caso que bandas como Iron Maiden o Judas Priest pasaron, sus trabajos (los de Bayley y Ripper) son excelentes ya que la banda se adapto a su rango vocal, Ripper tiene voz camaleonica, pero su actitud en el escenario no le gusto a los fans, Bayley le costaba mucho interpretar los temas de Bruce y no tenia presencia, pero hay que aclarar que el X Factor es genial. Con Nightwish fue lo mismo, los discos con Anette son geniales, pero a los fans no les gusto, primero el que cantara los temas de Tarja, su estilo vocal, entre otras cosas. Todos quieren una reunión con Tarja, pero hay que saber apreciar el estilo y el trabajo de Anette

It's not her fault you know, it's the guys who arranged the music, including marco and toumas, they arranged the song to fit perfectly to anette's voice and was perfect with her even with tarja singing it would be a mess.

I was at this show! Did you get caught up in that moshpit?
Floor is an excellent singer, in my opinion, and I thought she did a fantastic job considering she was called just a couple of days prior. Listening to some of her more recent shows, it definitely sounds like she is getting the hang of the part. Some songs were written for Anette's voice in mind, though, and I think this is one of them (Scaretale, too).

Yeah I went to the Anaheim concert. The first two songs she did were terrible. And I don't mean terrible like I don't like her style... terrible like I just learned a song 3 seconds ago and can barely remember it terrible. The other songs she fluctuated between 6/10 to 9/10. There were a few songs she did *really* well though. I got the feeling she listens to some NW and has favorites like most fans and has sung along with them tons of times. You can tell she is passionate about those ones.

Have you people thought about the otherway round... Try and get Tarja or Anette to replace Floor and sing After forever or Revamp songs with lack of rehearsals.. Less than 48 hours to learn 15 setlist plus a cold and perform this well... I bet Tarja and Anette can't even think about singing Floor songs...

Not to mention that Floor have to put up with Jet Lag, a cold and the nerves of how the audience react towards her... imagine been her position during that time. Yes Anette and Tarja are great but to do what Floor did on 1st October it's almost not possible for many people out there.. it's just like been asked to perform 15 unknown piano pieces and only been given 48 hrs notice, or to do 15 assignments and got 2 days to complete it !Think about it!!!

Uh... I wouldn't go that far. The songs need a great singer to make them sound great live. Annette could never deliver this good a performance, she doesn't have the range. Tarja's voice is great in the studio and terrible live, because she doesn't control it well. Floor is amazing here because she has the range, the power, and the control. She's pretty much perfect, but I'd be surprised if she stays as the new permanent singer.

Sorry you have got me wrong. I KNOW for sure that Tarja and Anette are great vocalist and I love then, I'm sure with a lot of practice and rehearsal (Maybe 1 week or 2) they can sing pretty much sing anything. What I'm trying to say is I don't think they'll be able to do what Floor did which is having 48 hrs to memorizing 15 setlist and 1 rehearsal before the first and still pull off a great show and I don't think they ever think about singing Floor song's unless they have been ask to do so.

I like this version of the song much better than the Olzon version. It's incredible that Floor can sing it this well after being with the band for only two or three days.
She has way more passion than Anette, sings it beautifully, and doesn't launch into that super annoying HEP HEP HEP crap halfway into the song like Anette used to do with practically EVERY song she sang.

Well, this show is back when she had to learn the setlist in less than 48 hours, just after Annette's departure. So, no rehearsals or anything, in fact, she missed her entrance queue in this song. Things that she hadn't learn yet. This show was when nobody knew she would be the next official singer for Nightwish, not even Tuomas.

I have to say this was not a good performance from Floor but I cut her some slack b/c she was so new to the band back then. IN fact IIRC she was just on loan from her new band ReVamp.
She must have been very nervous as she was constantly off pitch(flat) and missing her interval changes. But this is not an easy song to sing from a melodic standpoint. It's very fast and there are lots of words to sing very fast. It's hard to sing this one, but she got better as she kept singing it. As a prime example, her performance at Wacken in 2013 was far better than this.

Floor is like a football star that arrives in another team and doesn't do nothing: voice too thin, lack of consistence, knowing when to enter singing was good too, well... ridiculous.
Tarja was the best voice, Anette not so good as a voice but still a good communicator and also very nice to the public, and this Floor girl... well, showing her legs in high heels it's what she does best for the moment.
She could sing... at home, on her shower...

anette saved the band. they did not pick her in a spur of the moment. they held auditions for months and she was chosen between 2000 singers. so imo she was the best fit at the time. most of the songs on dark passion play were written before she joined them, so she struggled a bit. but imaginaerum is their best work musically thus far. and anette played a big part in it. imagine tarja trying to sound like a witch like anette in Scaretale. just awful.

one shouldnt dudge from this bad sound performance.it was taken with a cell phone an the sound sucks..if you go near the sound installation all you hear is noise.try the original nightwish channel.it has a live there that kicks ass.proffecional recording that really proves that Floor has an amazing voice as well as that the band really knows how to give awesome live performances

Oh yeah I have heard them. lots of time. great in Studio version but not so great in Live.. did not like her style. kept changing notes. Kinda annoying. but I must say she did improve a lot before she left the band especially I wish I had an Angel.. which was a shame because I wanted to see her live.But Floor stepped in was a bonus for me because I'm a huge fan of her and I believe she is the next best thing. Still doesn't change the fact that Tarja is the best of Nightwish.
