After hearing this amazing performance, I was never able to go back to the old studio version again.
Concert audio is getting better and better, and live recordings often carry a lot more power and impact than studio recordings. Can't get enough of live recordings. Plus the crowd interaction always adds a bit extra, like everyone vocalizing the melody at the 4 minute mark here.
Everybody says that wacken thirteen is the definitive version. I disagree . This one has a fluidity to it and a fresh take and realness not yet practiced and perfected This is not to say that other versions like wacken are not representative of the bands talent . I Just believe this to be the best version of this song.

The smile on Empu’s face when Floor hits “the note” really says it all.
I think they all became aware that everything had suddenly fallen into place. It all just clicks, not only between the band members but also between the band and the audience. From that moment on the whole thing has suddenly become a lot more than just the sum of its parts.
Just pause at 9:39 and look at the expressions of the audience: surprise, joy, awe... They knew they were witnessing something special.
Other notable moments:

Dave Mason As far as I am concerned, this performance is the definitive version of Ghost Love Score. All you have to do is know that Floor had been in the band for less than two months at the time of this performance, and just look at that grin on Emppu's face while she hits those high notes at the end. Tarja didn't do that, Annette didn't do that ... Floor *owned* this song.

Le publique se donne énormément dans cette version live et le groupe et toujours égal à lui-même mais au point de vue de capacité vocale Floor même s'il a une superbe voix ne monte pas aussi haut dans les aigus de Turja. Une fois que tu as entendu Turja la chanter tu ne peux pu l'oublier.........

Trying to describe what it was like to be in the audience just doesn't do it justice. When you are there and she belts out that last note, you could FEEL it vibrating through your body. It was phenomenal. One of the best experiences ever. If you ever get a chance to see them live, do it. You'll never forget how she physically touched you with her voice.

Got to be the smaller venue. I remember Nightwish coming to the Apollo in Manchester and I did not go because I thought the previous vocalist was singing. What a mistake that was!

Then, they came with Annette. Of course, I stood home.
Later, they came with Floor... I hesitated, really longing to see them live again.
I was there when this video was shot. I was there. I couldn't believe what I was hearing, I never wanted this to end.

My face has been leaking ever since I heard Floor sing with Nightwish for the first time. I remember I was showing my wife The greatest show on earth and she turned around to me as I was crying in silence. She was bawling her eyes out too. This is a universal thing. Nightwish are truly magical and life-changing.

I'm not defending Tarja by saying this but I'm defending her as a soprano. Singing as a soprano isn't easy. If you've ever been to an opera you would notice that there are pauses after every 20 minutes for the singer to catch their breath (and listener to stretch their legs). On concerts however there isn't an option like that because the artist/band needs to "amuse" the crowd the whole time. Probably she needed some water or what. I'm not saying that to defend her, just saying that she might have done that because she was tired, be considerate.

That particular scene really had that sort of "meh, fuck that last part, don't feel like it, screw you guys"-feel to it. I mean ... even if she doesn't sing the last part, she could've stayed on stage for a few seconds longer, right?

Yes, she could've at least stayed at the end of the performance like she DID in other concerts, but there must have been a reason, or just simply to change her outfit. Well, nobody seemed to complain about her leaving the stage before Floor performance. sigh...Not even when Anette sang it.

Same here. At that time I had listened very little of Floor and was hesitant of her skills. Totally fell in love with her after this performance. One of the greatest shows I've been to.

Everyone swooning over this one, wait for the Live at Wembley DVD. I was there, and not a particularly big Nightwish fan (my girlfriend got tickets, and I like Arch Enemy). That was until I saw them live.
I have never been brought close to tears by a song, until I saw Nightwish, and heard Floor Jansen in person. I had to make a conscious effort to stop myself. I honestly don't think I'll ever see a better gig for as long as I live. I was just in awe all the way through: the backdrop, the flames, the fireworks, the music, and to top it all off, not only did Floor have the audience in the palm of her hands, that woman might just be the best singer I've ever heard.
+leerobbo92 sorry to say this but the Wembley version is not so good, I don't know what happened in that show but she struggles a lot, you need to check the version of GLS in Buenos Aires in Luna Park Stadium, It was this october in 2015, Floor did almost the same last scream as here but longer, btw they recorded 3 shows for the next DVD, Wembley, Buenos Aires and Mexico City, I´m not so sure the wembley one is gonna be released in its entirety, maybe some videos
emperor81 Were you there? I didn't hear any struggling whatsoever to be honest, which is amazing considering that it was the last show of an almost year long tour. I'm sure that she has done better vocally (which in itself is mindblowing), but the show that they put on at Wembley was the biggest that they've ever done. It'll definitely be released.
leerobbo92 No, I wasn't there, but just for the all the videos I saw, I'm just saying her voice in that show in Wembley sounds really tired compared with other shows in this tour, maybe there's a big stage, big production, a lot of people, but perfomance wise seems tired, but if they release the Wembley show, I have no problem at all. The editing is going to help a lot, I'm pretty sure of that, but if you enjoyed the show in Wembley, good for you, that's all that matters.

I just got to see ReVamp in Pitts. It was quite amazing. It sucked that they were the opening band of the main three and had the lesser equipment. However that played well into my favor when it came to audio recording.
Then we got to do meet and greet and had Floor sign us and got it tattood :)

I wouldn't say much better, not purely going by how Floor sang this. The energy at this concert, Emppu smiling at the end and Floor hitting that high note, those make it the better version for me. Floor hits those final notes better here than at the Wacken recording. The rest of the song I prefer the Wacken version, better sound and you can hear she's more accustomed to it by then.

Of all "Ghost Love Score" live performances by Nightwish, this is simply the best. Largely due to how the current Nightwish Queen sang the ending part of this epic song. I am confident when I re-visit this particular performance 15 years in the future, I will still feel emotional and captivated by it.

I actually ONLY have this version of the song on my playlists. I heard it first with Floor and I didn't like it with Tarja.
This video shows the historic moment in wich Floor Jansen turned a song into a glorious anthem.
I'm pretty sure that at least half of the views on this video are mine. I'm still getting chills towards the end, Floor is just absolutely perfect IN this song, and FOR this song. My guess is that there is no one alive who could have done that better. Probably no one ever that could have. It's just so... Honest from her. She's almost crying when she put her hand on her chest in the end from the overwhelming emotions she just poured out of her heart, through her mouth and into every living soul at the theater, and us, the viewers. Thank you Floor, for being perfect here, and thank you Nightwish, for bringing Floor on board.
She has the courage to sing with abandon. The power of her emotion breaks all ties, and my soul is lifted.

I've said this in other posts, but I'll say it here. Floor is very self competitive and Tuomas is going to have to challenge her musically. This song shows what she offers. Tarja, lovely as she was with this song, circled it and never landed in concert. Annette flitted around it like a humming bird but never really touched it. Floor climbed it effortlessly and planted her flag on the summit. This song is Floor's from now on. The number of people who say they watch her perform this song over and over again points to the energy she put into it. It's like a nuclear reactor.

Yesterday my sister saw this and pictured Nightwish asking Floor to try this song for the first time, all nice and understanding, telling her "It's okay, simply do your best, we know it's a hard one to master and the comparison with the original version is always tough..."
Then Floor rocks the shit of of the song and climaxes at 9:27 - 9:37 and she's all shy and insecure, "How bad was it compared to Tarja's version?"

I am a HUGE fan of Tarja and her voice, but this ending here... it's definitely something Tarja (I was one of those who used to think "No Tarja, no Nightwish", until Floor showed up) could never do. I am a grown-ass man, and yet most of the time I listen to this particular rendition (Showtime, Storytime is great, but this is transcendent), I can't help but start tearing up. Damn, so much passion and soul in her performance!

George Jansen Yeah, going through the entire répertoire of Nightwish would be something that I don't know that anyone other than Tarja and Floor could do. I think Ryd could've done a fairly decent job of it, liking her version of Nemo, but all of it, I just don't know. I don't really believe in the 'battle of the bands' sort of deal, but I'd sure as hell would've been curious to have found out how 'Beauty of the Beast' would've been rendered.
Sure was awesome Ryd and Alissa White-Gluz filling in for the Denver show. Real troopers, there. I really respect them for that.

My last day of living in finland after one year being here(fan of nightwish over my last 20 years of life..since my teenage in Argentina🇦🇷);came here for my love and partner of life..survive the coldest winter ever for me(sleeping sun was my biggest inspiration at darkest and cold november in still pandemia!)..moving to the south but having amazing friends here Suomi and deep connection with this land 🇫🇮. I saw she show in Helsinki this 2022 and I never knew how connected was everything to bring me here without knowing my love partener was living almost his entire life here..calling me through the voice of the forest..not the same taste at music but loving nature as one and biggest love in common.Just BIG KIITOS to all the band and thanks Tuomas to recieve my letter;also to all.the friends that i have in Argentina and also here through them and others that even if they don't like or have the same passion than us for this music they feel proud to have them as national band and international recognition as a finnish band..i just have no words for say how much grateful i am to never give back when in my little town looked at me so bad for my taste in simphonic metal but i understood i was part of something bigger than that town and from Helsinki here i can see it now..i met families here and beautiful kind heart people loving this music or some of their songs and ballads..how powerfull is music to connect us beyond culture;nation;language etc. That's my biggest thank and please keep supporting N and also you guys keep making music till the end time. I have been listening to Rock and Roll for over 50 yrs….Nightwish just blows it out of the water….They are like a puzzle with every piece has its specific sound and with Floor singing just ties it all together…. One of the best bands I have ever seen…. Would love to see them live.

Back to these days. we knew Nightwish will end up the Imaginaerum World Tour with a new singer, and have probably seen one or two videos from ppl who recorderd from the previous shows, but we didn't know her.
This was the first OFFICIAL live video. This is how Nightwsh introduced Floor Jansen to the world, and we were all amazed, and we still do.
You can see the faces of all members of the band, and they really loved her, also the first "Floorgasm" live recorded.
The argentinian crowd reconiced her AWESOME performance chanting her name at the end of the song.
Nightwish's fans were splited, and really suffered the departure of previous singers, but after this all our wounds were healed.
All that combined and more, make this THE BEST PERFORMANCE of the history of this song.
Actually it was not the first official video of her, They put the performance of I want my tears back at the Hartwal Areena from the Imaginaerum movie premiere shot in november 2012 online the same month, which was well before GLS in Buenos Aires
