I hate how Nightwish fans divided themselves Between Tarja, Anette and now Floor. I think all three women are great singer and each have a style that they sing best in. Floor did a great job with the song, although I am use to Anette singing it, she performed it beautifully.
I gave her a break, I like Floor. Just tried to find a good version from Floor in this song, and there isn't any. Sure she has a nice voice, but she doesn't sing this well. This was the sixth time she sang it in a concert. This song requires a higher pitch vocalist than Floor. Tuomas wrote this song with Annette's softer voice in mind, specifically tuned to her expressive range that made the original so elegant. Floor did a good job nonetheless. Generally speaking, the more powerful Nightwish Annette songs like 'Poet and the Pendulum' and 'Storytime' and even Tarja songs like 'Ever Dream' and 'Planet Hell' fit Floor perfectly while the softer ones like this one she struggles with.

In fact Floor missed the harmonies the first time she sang "a swan of white" part; se did not hit every single note. The second time she sang that part and the end were superb, though. :)
That's my fundamental problem with Floor as frontwoman. She is very talented, but somehow her singing leaves me totally cold emotionally. Not just here, but in general. I've never heard a vocal performance of hers that made me truly feel something, in either a studio recording or a live setting. Whereas Anette, despite her flaws, definitely had that quality in spades.

Especially when she sings from the previous eras of the band, with the one exception that is Ghost Love Score, because.. reasons. I think it's more her just performing them like a robot, and not caring so much about them. One can easily, and I do mean very easily, hear the difference in her performances for the songs of previous eras versus her own. It's like night and day. She makes them sound really autonomous, if you understand what I mean. However, hearing her sing Shoemaker is something very different altogether though.

To be honest neither Tarja nor Anette had such a strong cult among Nighwish fans. Fans never shouted the singer's names like this before. That's strange since Floor is just some half a year in.
How often did Floor make an attempt on that song before? Even for "Ghost Love Score" she needed to try a bit until she got it. But I know what you mean, the studio version on the album is gorgeous, made it to one of my all-time favorite songs from Anette. Btw any song can be destroyed from the mixing pult, not knowing whether the poor overall sound quality is from there or the recording unit.
that's not completely true, the last thing I knew was that they might possibly keep her for the band since the reaction of the fans was so good and the feeling between them all was great and they liked what she was doing with her voice, if she stays in the band, they would have a completely new voice, a heavy one, a lyrical one, a grunting one, Floor can do all that stuff
this song was made for anette obviously it sound better for her, as well as Tarja songs that were written based on the color and type of voice, we'll see what songs make Tuomas for Floor, she has an amazing voice and it showed with after forever and revamp, the new album Wild Card is awesome, and live is just as spectacular, so is that we stop lamenting that if Anette or Tarja, this is what it is now, get over it and if you are fan Support them.
She's an angel...this song now is 100000000 times better than with that horrible pop singer (Anette of course). Floor makes even more wonderful all Nightwish songs..

I know, I have an experience, that when I'll say STOP TALKING STILL ABOUT VOCALISTS, LISTEN TO MUSIC, you won't do it. No Tarja, people complaining. No Anette, people complaining (for the first time not because she's in the band - a miracle happen, though too late). What do you all expect? There is no possibility to satisfy all of you.

Anette é ótima, só que ela não cantaria musicas como Wishmaster e outras como sua antecessora. Já a Floor é a cantora perfeita pro Nightwish pq executa as canções da Tarja e Anette muito bem.

Well, this song is great and Floor is a good singer (I´d be happy if she stayed), but I can understand the pro- annets here... her voice is softer and therefore a little bit more fitting.
Floor is a very talented singer, I have great respect for her, and she is doing a nice job. But... I think Anette was a much better match for Nightwish's current musical style which was shaped during last two records, and Nightwish is in the right direction with this style of music. I am afraid they would return to that style with classical vocals again while they were with Tarja. I hope they manage to keep the curet style with Floor or whoever the new singer would be.
