    Scott, last year I added a small modification to the cape. I made a narrow pocket down each side of the cape, just wide enough to fit a thin 3’ wooden dowel.
    This allows me to hold the dowels when I lift my arms, displaying a very impressive 10’ wingspan. Thought your Batman fans might like to add this addition to your magnificent design.

    Hey Scott. New to the channel but just wanted to thank you for these tutorials. I'm starting to get into cosplay and costuming and I want my first build to be a recreation of Batman from the 1992 Animated Series so these tutorials are going to come in real handy for guides as I start to plan and prepare for the work.
    You're really informative while keeping the instructions very clear to follow and understand so I really appreciate it!

    Dude!!! You totally rock! My SIL asked me to make some super hero capes for her VBS this month. I have been going nuts trying to decide how to do them since I'm fairly new to sewing. Then I found your videos ..... WHOA!!!! You just rock. I can't follow a pattern to save my life and you speak my language ... I can follow your directions to a T. Love it! Thank you!!!!

    Scott, God bless ... you ROCK! A few years back I decided to become Batman for Mardi Gras. I bought a 1960's costume and the reaction I got from kids along the parade route was amazing. So each year I upgraded a little. I now have the 80;s or 90's version costume.When I was looking into getting a new cowl, I came across your video describing modifications to the Rubbie cowl and then this video. You did an amazing job explaining everything and made it extremely simple for someone who had never used a sewing machine to make the cape and hood.I think mine came out GREAT and I would have never known how to do it without your help! So I can't thank you enough for posting these amazing videos. You're helping me put a lot of smiles on the faces of people here in New Orleans the next couple of weeks.

    • @ScottBayles
      @ScottBayles  8 лет назад +2

      +Jean-Paul Juge I actually made the spandex suit myself. The fabric comes from www.spandexhouse.com (gunmetal grey, miliskin spandex). You can buy similar bodysuits online, however. You might try using Under Armor as well. The Bat is sewn on, also made of spandex. But I might do a tutorial soon and making the emblem.

    Scott, this is a truly wonderful, clear tutorial! Before I saw it, I was going nuts trying measure out the panels without wasting fabric. Your steps make it look so simple...
    But here's a question: if you're just going to cut a hole at the top for your head, why do you need to lock that stitch? I plan on making one without the hood and just attaches at the top. Should I lock the stitches below what will be my neck hole? Thanks!

    • @ScottBayles
      @ScottBayles  7 лет назад +1

      The only reason I lock those stitches is to keep the seams from coming apart before I cut the neck line, but it you don't want to take the extra time/thread to do that, just be careful with it until you cut the neck.

If you have a link it'd be fantastic. Would you recommend 4 or 2 way stretch? Thanks, I live the current one I have but I need a new one that fits under my new cowl and has a different texture, I need a matte black with a leather texture for it to match up.

    • @ScottBayles
