Bad traffics in Jakarta only during rush hours in the morning and afternoon. The weekend is usually pretty normal traffic. Foreign Medias always exaggerated when it is about Indonesia in general, especially Jakarta. Enjoy your stay in crazy Jakarta, stay safe, and explore more!
Even the rush hour in many places aren’t so bad, i traveled from west to north jakarta (bordering east) and i was able to get 80 km/h using a bike 😂

Jakarta's traffic used to be a loooot worse. Even on the weekend. Now it's still bad at rush hour, but not so much at other times. I don't know if it's because of Covid or something else.
You go by angkot to Bendungan Hilir.Exactly there are metro trans from Bendungan Hilir to Kota Kasablanka and it just needs your Indomaret card (your MRT Tapcash)
Next, you have to visit Senayan Park because the place is very beautiful👍

3:18 Hi Sam and Dasha, we're sorry about that because sometimes this happen for small bus ride like that (we called it mikrolet or angkot) even in Jakarta. For Indonesian, that's not problem at all, but maybe its too dangerous for you. So please be carefull.
Because i know that area, I suggest you should use Transjakarta Shutter Bus (mini bus, a different one with large bus in the main road), along that way from under the bridge to the other end, vice versa. Maybe u should find one for 10 or 15 minutes, a little bit longer if bad traffic. It cost 3.500 IDR, using e-moneycard that u using for MRT.

You should try also the Jakartas commuter train or KRL with your e-money card. Try went to Bogor with very affordable fare, and than exploring the Bogor botanical garden. And try relax and drink the very tasty coffee at Grand garden cafe that obama and jokowi have do that at the past time.

Supir Angkot seharusnay tidak menurunkan penumpang di tanjakan flyover. Dia seharusnya menepi ke kiri agak sedikit lebih jauh dari pangkal flyover supaya lebih aman untuk penumpang yang mau turun.
Jalan rayanya tidak terlalu ramai untuk memotong ke kanan dan naik ke tanjakan flyover. Benci banget gw kalau digituin sama Angkot, apalagi di lokasi baru yang gw gak ngerti medan. Kan kasihan untuk yang tidak paham lokasi, kalau mereka paham, pasti sudah menepi ke kiri dari awal.

I agree, loud is the correct word. I considered it as noise only because many loud speakers from different areas all overlap and create a sound that is not clear or understandable for me. But that does not mean I think it is bad! I simply would not live there if I don't like it.

Jakarta's bad rep is based on before the improvements were made in the last couple of years. Jakarta's traffic used to be the worst in the world according to multiple researches, including tomtoms. But it is much better now.
