Notice how Patrick didn't actually do any work in his office. All he did was watch the tv, listening to music, scribbled on his journal and played crosswords.
He was actually maintaining interpersonal relationships with his colleagues, conducting meetings, and fighting antisemitism in the workplace. That sure sounds like hard work to Me
Frankly, it’s not much different from what real-life executives actually do.
Isn't it because he is impersonating someone else. I thought the whole point of this movie is that he takes on the lives of others and because the people are so clueless they don't even notice.
@@xryanv no, he does work there, but he got the job as a result of nepotism and doesn’t actually have to do any work. He just gets paid to show up and do nothing.
@@xryanv no people confuse him for other people because the author/director was critiquing toxic masculinity and the problem with wallstreet men in the 80s they all talk the same dress the same act the same, they are the same
Impressive, very nice. Let's see Paul Allen's Dorsia reservation.
...I don't think that'll be possible.
Didn't he get an 8:30 res for a meal that included sea urchin ceviche?
Impressive, very nice.
@@dominicbofficial Why isn’t it possible?
@@bucco488 It's just not
I just realized. He’s wearing Paul Allen’s clothes.
Oh shit
I mean its a different tie, suspenders, shirt. But again, very close to what Paul Allen was wearing, true haha.
Impressive. Very nice.
This movie was wayyy ahead of its time such a masterpiece
I know
It really was
Classic.
Watched it the first time last week lmao my ma’s favorite flick
Not really it was made perfectly when it was. Would not have the same effect if it was made today infact it would be the same. The wave of recent memes about this movie is actually the second wave first one was over 10 years ago.
The movie is ok in itself as a slasher movie, but the original novel is the true masterpiece.
The novel is arguably a perfect synopsis of human nature; Patrick Bateman's madness is only equal to the madness of the world around him. Extremely clever writing and and an incredible submersion into his life as a fellow human being.
And i would also strongly recommend another Bret Easton Ellis masterpiece 'Lunar Park' - the way the narrator's story just dives off a cliff is insanely brilliantly written and it's probably the most scary non-horror book I've ever read!
You never got out of your home then. This is America Wall Street since the 70's
I always do this on the phone
Do what?
@@ukaszszczepaniak1338 yes
This is genuinely one of the funniest movies ever made
Sigma Male Grindset
It always bothers me that she's been wanting to go out with Patrick for so long and her first restaurant suggestion is a super exclusive always fully booked place...talk about standards lmao
Well, Patrick DID say “anywhere you want, I can get us anywhere” lol
She could be saying a place that she thinks will impress him rather than actually wanting to go there.
She insisted on him picking and said anywhere and I think her standards are normal and fine it’s not like she’s the psycho of the movie 😂
@@YRTLOPEZ She is. She was supposed to be but they cut it because they thought Christian could act much better in the pyscho scenes.
@@gustavusadolphus6097 huh
“2 at 9, perfect, see you then!”
the voice crack is hilarious
@@seraphw2093 what voice crack?
@@jimmcneal5292the original commenter’s voice cracked while he was typing perhaps
Crazy how he’s being flirty with her in this scene building up great anticipation and just flips a switch when she actually shows up to his spot
It's not often you can say a movie would be perfect for both Christian Bale AND Nicolas Cage to star as the lead. I can totally see Nic Cage acting this the same way as Vampire's Kiss.
Nic Cage, that's great.
this is my favorite comedy
I listened an audiobook before I saw the movie, and felt the same way, I reccomend it if you have a quality sense of humor
Patrick Bateman: They Know Me
David Goggins : They Dont Know Me Son!
I think this movie was ahead of its time. It didn’t do insanely good, but got a cult following later on.
What a nice and caring gentlemen. Hope he care and love her for lifelong ❤
But can Joe Rogan get a last minute reservation to Dorsia?
this film is a great masterpiece
I never understood this, why Patrick can never book that place. Isn't he wealthy enough?
All wealthy people go there
It's an expensive place, at this level of wealth you need something more like status and connections.
Who knew Patrick Bateman would end up as the proprietor of Dorcia
Why I have hair
Local man gets dubs.
0:58 this lady is pretty❤❤
That's cool and all but can any of them make a list minute reservation at Dorsia?
These two deserve each other.
No… she doesn’t… she deserves someone who isn’t trying to kill her xD
@@flipingboredcritic hahhahahaha loool
@Janaka. This girl just wants to have a good time
Uhh how?! Lol
Jean was deliberatly trolling Patrick by suggesting a restaurant she knows he cannot get in to, thereby making him feel small. At end she drove home his BS by saying "You did not give a name."
So it's like booking a dinner at Dorsia 😉
ok
I would rather eat taco bell diarreha guaranteed menu.
This movie did for dorsia what dorsia did for Paul Allen
Im actually jean y'all, yep that's me, going to dinner with him
