    Notice how Patrick didn't actually do any work in his office. All he did was watch the tv, listening to music, scribbled on his journal and played crosswords.

      He was actually maintaining interpersonal relationships with his colleagues, conducting meetings, and fighting antisemitism in the workplace. That sure sounds like hard work to Me

      Isn't it because he is impersonating someone else. I thought the whole point of this movie is that he takes on the lives of others and because the people are so clueless they don't even notice.

      Not really it was made perfectly when it was. Would not have the same effect if it was made today infact it would be the same. The wave of recent memes about this movie is actually the second wave first one was over 10 years ago.

    • @dagreenblazer5958
      @dagreenblazer5958 Год назад

      The movie is ok in itself as a slasher movie, but the original novel is the true masterpiece.
      The novel is arguably a perfect synopsis of human nature; Patrick Bateman's madness is only equal to the madness of the world around him. Extremely clever writing and and an incredible submersion into his life as a fellow human being.
      And i would also strongly recommend another Bret Easton Ellis masterpiece 'Lunar Park' - the way the narrator's story just dives off a cliff is insanely brilliantly written and it's probably the most scary non-horror book I've ever read!
