I don’t know why, but I find Jean offering her help doing the crossword puzzle absolutely adorable
I find her whole personality absolutely adorable
she's bone
@neilbertmillar9960 It would be rude to say she's meat, so i guess you're right

Is Dorsia a real restaurant?
I love how he tells her that her outfit is fine, and then insinuates that he doesn’t want to be seen with her dressed like that
negging
Because he got pissed off that she wanted to go to Dorsia lmao.
I don’t think he was genuine when saying she was “dressed okay”. He’s hoping that, by attempting to distract Jean with a compliment, she won’t ask him about the false reservations to Dorsia. Remember when Courtney tries to have a conversation with Patrick in the bedroom and he dismisses her by saying she looks beautiful. Same thing. That’s how I read the scene, at least.
He didn't insinuate it, he said it straight.

I think the answer to 37 down is meat
Naah its bone
@@jakubkovarik9754 you're wrong its meats
Lets be bonest, its meat
❤ Glad to have crossed paths with you all. Thanks for the smiles.
Lets not be meatist, it's bones
Patrick memorised Dorsia's phone number from ringing them so many times before 😂
Sometimes I remember phone numbers I’ve only called a couple of times
Funny is that he ended up faking it. He could've just called any restaurant
@@CatChase957Who says he didn’t?
When he says "you're dressed okay" he was expecting her to say "no, no, no, I have to change!" and when she doesn't, he outright says that she needs to change himself. Savage.
🤣
Control freak.
That guy is a complete _American Psycho_ !
That's why Patrick didn't kill her. She is real with him.
Based
the moment she said dorsia is when patrick knew he was going to dismember her for sure. Every shallow person that patrick despises loves that restaurant, so patrick thought that she was just the same as eveeryone else. It is at his house that she proves she's genuine and then patrick spares her
it's a tough call, but I think he might have killed her anyway, it's the phone call, which saves her.
@@barsam2a i think so too. He compared her to Evelyn and realized that she was innocent compared to idiot bitches like Evelyn. There was simply no gain nor satisfaction he would receive by killing Jean. The comparison saved her life
I think its more like every other characters in this movie is just a "characters" not actual people, Patrick murder about 20 of them and no one gives a shit. But Jean is a person, and it is much harder to kill a person than a character.
@@barsam2a I don’t think so either cuz his smile goes away when she says “Dorsia” and that’s when he is somewhat disappointed in the fact she wants to go there, like Henry said, every shallow person loves that place too
Um I believe it was more like vague disappointment 1:13 1:24 like when he goes "So dorsia is where Jean wants to go." almost like he was hoping she'd want something different because her answer wasn't the Jean he became accustomed to and she was obviously trying to do what he liked, so I think it was more a disappointment for him. I believe the date was him testing himself to see if he could kill her to eliminate the only real thing in his life but she unknowingly proved why she deserved to live.
Jean is a sweetheart
😍 I love her!

When she said Dorsia, he decided to become a serial killer.
Let's see Paul Allen's card.
Another Martini Paul
You mean Paul Allen's Dorsia reservation
See alot of, "Don't know whats going on?" Type comments. For context, he's a serial killer. He's planning on murdering her, he's gonna change his outfit. Into a murder outfit (lol sounded dumb you know what I mean.) And do a little dance...

This almost looks wholesome.
Love how just the two words "meat" & "bone" fits into that crossword puzzle.
Fun Fact: Christian Bale based his character off of Paul Allen. Yes, I read that. New York Matinee called it a playful, but mysterious little twist.
True
that's deep. the tasteful thickness of it...
Owww i love Chloe Sevigny
I remember watching this in my early teens and I always found her a absolutely beautiful
she looks kind
His soul left when he heard that word
watching the way he acts and speaks in this movie makes me think he could have pulled off a crow movie
To be honest he is Christian Bale, he could have pulled off a Cinderella movie if he wanted
In the book, they actually show up at Dorsia and try to steal someone else's table. They almost manage to get the table but the customers show up and get kicked out xD
She was too innocent looking..luckily she's save..jeez..
Yep she is save!you should read the book!she has more moments in the book.and he also end up with her in the ending

@@samiraradmila4094wow is he romantic is it like beauty and the beast?!
She is sharp- they didn’t get your name.
My favorite scene in whole film. Such an elegant and classy man . His office lady was so sweet with good heart ❤ The kind of women you want by your side to eternity . He made the best decision to not hurt her and keep her alive. I so wished that in the end of the film Patrick will back to normal life and come together with this sweet heart lady by song of Phil Collins - “one more night “ Shame what happened in the end .
that scene should be called ( ignoring the red flags )
You know, this scene would be a lot more sweeter if he wasn’t a narcissistic serial killer
Who else in love with her RN 😻

someone in the comments here said (most probably jokingly) that Bale based this character on Tom Cruise. In retrospect the mannerisms do indeed remind me of Tom lol

The most disturbing aspect of this film or indeed the book that gave rise to it. It's actually a really dark comedy. Not my words but you can Youtooby it yourself to see and hear Christian Bale say it himself.

Being an assistant, she probably heard many times how praised that place is among higher-ups from her office. Since in her opinion Patrick belongs to them, she thinks he can swing it. Funnily enough, this is the only place Patrick can't get to thus making it extremely frustrating to him since he can't fulfill a role of a rich and powerful Wall Street broker which he enjoys demonstrating to other people
I think it's because she tries to pick a place where HE wants to go - Jean loves to please Patrick, and she probably doesn't want to choose a restaurant that Patrick might deem "beneath him".
