This is grate for cars that are driven a lot in the city. You have a small map with no smoke for the eco frendi city people :) and then you have full power fun when you get out of the city offroading. I tested this on a customer car and he was super happy.
Hi William, it’s actually a Defender puma transfer box but the ratio is near enough the same as a Disco transfer box, it’s actually easier to fit the Disco one as you don’t have to mess about with the linkage then, yea there no way you could safely get to them high speeds on the standard one, I don’t know what Land Rover was thinking 😂 cheers 👍
Thanks. The TD5 engine was de-tuned from factory as LandRover didn’t want it to be as powerful as another engine they released at the time, therefore it is very tunable, in fact it’s the most tunable LandRover engine ever. The 2.4 defender uses the Ford transit Tdci and this can create really good torque when tuned but there’s a limit to how much you can go without problems and will never create good horsepower like the TD5. Thanks 🙏
Hi Cliff, thanks, yes I sell them also for the early 10p TD5 like yours too. You can find the correct one for yours here www.mastaz.co.uk/td5msb2.htm or I can modify your original msb ECU if preferred. Cheers 👍
The injector codes can be programmed as normal (Nanocom, Hawkeye or other programmers) just like a standard ecu, or i can program them for you. Would be best for you to use a 10p version of the ecu unless you plan on over driving the 10p injectors 👍
CarJunkeez looking for longevity in the end with a bit more power to be able to cruise at 120kmh. Already fitted a large intercooler and new standard turbo. Do you keep the normal boost limit in?
Then yes best to go with the 10p version. You can adjust your wastegate actuator to run higher boost if you wish as the ecu has an internal boost unit and as you have a larger intercooler it would definitely benefit from a little more boost 👍
That's blooming brilliant, I've got a 2004 disco running a standard engine. What would I need to do to the engine before ordering and installing one of these please? Also would a msb ecu work with my year td5? Any pointers would greatly appreciated. Cheers
Thanks mate. Your best blanking the EGR and a decat, also best with a bigger intercooler and decent performance air filter. The standard msb is no good as yours is a 15p engine being a 2004 so you would need the converted ecu found here www.mastaz.co.uk/td5msb2nnn2.htm Thanks 😁👍
@@CarJunkeez Cheers for that, I see a winter project coming on. What's the deal with M.O.T ie no cat and egr delete? Been watching your videos thanks for the brilliant channel 👍🏼
The emissions are still fine for the MOT and pre 2001 actually don’t have a cat so you can use an original front pipe from a pre 2001, and blanking the EGR only has a positive effect on emissions as we all know how bad the EGR’s are one Landys 😂 Cheers
Can you repair and do this to my faulty mmb, to suit an 03 disco manual td5? It has the wrong ecu in for some reason. My mate that I bought the Disco from, had £400 spent on the ecu and it just conked out one day. I would really like to see if it can be repaired by sending it to you?
Hi, I no longer have enough spare time to repair ECU’s and unfortunately most TD5 ECU failures are related to the processor and isn’t cost effective to repair. Cheers
Hi Cheers, Yes it’s facebook.com/mastazecu/ As yours is a 2001 it’s on a change over year so you need to check if it’s a 10p or 15p engine 10p full ecu can be found here. www.mastaz.co.uk/td5msb2.htm 15p full ecu can be found here. www.mastaz.co.uk/td5msb2nnn2.htm Cheers 👍
Gidday from down under, very impressed with the twin map idea, brilliant!!! You don't mention any supporting mods, can you run stock intercooler, turbo? Have a late 2002 TD5 will soon be replacing turbo cheap with a hybrid, I have also removed EGR and replaced exhaust with a half straight through pipe. Again brilliant!!! Cheers Tim
Hi Tim. I recommend using a larger intercooler but this will run on a standard but not recommended prolonged use when switched to the big map. It’s good that you’ve blanked the EGR and fitted exhaust, as yours is a late 2002 then uk spec have a CAT so it’s good to de-cat but as yours is Australia I’m not sure if you have a CAT fitted, they fit only on 15p engine and the 10p don’t have a CAT, also the ecu is different between 10p and 15p. Yes it’s a good mod to fit a hybrid turbo or just the cartridge and the map will adapt automatically on upgrading turbo as it’s reliant on the map sensor (boost pressure) Thanks Shane
Do you drive a BMW regularly? There's a stalk on the left of the steering column that activates orange lights on the side of your vehicle that are called Indicators. It would help others if you used yours.
I know your not going to believe me but I normally do use my indicators, but yes you caught me out 😂 and good one on the BMW reference lol, I actually hate BMW’s 👍
Hi there im from croatia and wondered if you ship round europe Another question How much HP will it increase from stock And do i have to change anything on the car...injectors ect
Hi. Yes I ship to Europe no problem. Standard defender is 125bhp and discovering 136bhp, with the fast Economy mode switched you will see around 165bhp and with full power mode switched you will see over 190bhp and plus 40% torque. No need to change anything but I do recommend blanking EGR and a larger intercooler and a decent performance air filter, also a de-cat helps on the later TD5. Thanks Shane
It’s a defender Puma transfer box but the ratio is very similar to Discovery transfer boxes so you can use any to benefit better motorway driving, even disco 1 👍
