I wouldn't worry about the engine. Td5's are reliable and can be tuned excessively before having problems. I'm on 170k miles on my 90 and I'm only just putting a vnt turbo on it. Engine is the least of your problems if she's looked after.
In your last video about the td5 i was thinking about it was strange the fact that you didn't s own a nanocom, and here you are today speaking about it. The nanocom is essetial.
Dan always told me 3rd gear up as long a hill as possible to get a boost reading. With stage 2 you are looking at 1.3-1.35 and with the Stage 2 MAFless map you can add a bit more.
Not the case. With or without a map delete anything more than 1.38BAR and the standard turbo will not last long. If you want to run more than that you need to get an uprated turbo.
You might want to check out the "Foxwell NT520 Multi System Scanner Land Rover Jaguar Version". Can do all the Nanocom can do and goes from the 300tdi right up to the most modern Land Rovers and Jaguars. It will also read the codes and erase codes from other OBD compatible vehicles. No special function for the others. Lifetime updates. Had mine for 4 years now.
Glad to have you guys back. Is there any chance you could do a running costs video of your defenders. How much you brought them for, what to look out for when you buy one, monthly running costs etc ?
Nice, I have a Nanocom for my Puma too. A device at an acceptable price, I think. You can quickly check something out when the engine is not running. But I haven't fully used the device now.
Bonjour Vidéo très intéressante vu que je suis en panne avec mon disco Le problème est que je ne comprends pas les explications car je ne parle pas anglais
It was nice to actually push the engine a bit. Looking forward to the videos from now on where you push the engine a bit more now you know the limits. Great video as usual lads. :)
Did you updated the firmware from the 2018 to 2020 version? The new version adds support to NAS defender and add proper support to black AS10 modules in pumas.
Nicely done Gentlemen. It will be interesting to see how fault finding is assisted the the new nanocom unit. Do things like the EGR blanking affect diagnosis etc Have a great year end and all the best for 2020. Mat
Holds a 400 quid nanocom... videoing it from a 200 quid phone.. and says "I would love a rev counter but they are too expensive!!" hahaha :-) Cool vid, really nice to watch.
Not sure how accurate the Nanocom reports the battery voltage, but if it is, then I'd be taking a good look at you alternator and wiring as that voltage isn't stable enough. Seems to be reading quite low as well, I had the same on my TD5 D2 and the alternator packed up soon after, you can buy a rebuild kit though for the Denso unit which is good value and easy to do, mine sits at a very stable 14.6V now.
If you want it done properly, you should go to a company that can provide you a bespoke map for your vehicle. Different versions depend on the company and your requirements.
Man no ofense but.. You missed something very important about this engine. MAF sensor. You had a value of 0. It needs to be replaced. the car will go 30% better
Nisse - You maybe interested in one of these : www.raptor-engineering.co.uk/product/discovery-dash-console/ Liam may also want to have a look around that site, its great for redoing ones defender dash into something that doesn't fall apart on the first serious off road track from hell. As for the Nano Com, I thought every TD5 owner had one. :D
My MAF had no power input, my nanocom helped me diagnose that . Makes a big difference to the performance of your engine. Great videos

It's an awesome tool.
@@TirsbaekTV Anyway, i always enjoy your videos. Great work. i have, me too, a 10p TD5 '00.

Agreed. I have the older NT510 and it's great for my Disoc 2 V8.

Will look into it!
I have a VVT on my Defender TD5, it pulls hard from low revs all the way to max, with very little smoke.

If you own a Land Rover, you need a Nanocom... PERIOD!!! Thanks for another great video! BTW.... V8 FTW!!!
Yeees! Been waiting for This one! Awesome vid, keep it coming!
Good video lads , keep em coming , take care and stay well.
Thanks, same to you!

For sure it will be interesting once we dive deeper into it. Happy new year!
Good video mate but my nanocom doesn't have a turbo pressure read out

Exactly, that's why I can't afford a rev counter 😂Thanks for watching!

Just had a look at the nanocom website, trying to see if the unit enables new alarm fobs to be coded ?
It can be done for the Discovery 2 key fob which I have done.
Why does a Land Rover have so many holes in? For the water to get OUT.
Which one should I go for?

Or this one:-

Iv been looking into the nano com, where did you buy yours from? Thank you
www.nanocom-diagnostics.com/ is the only place you can get one I believe
Is there is a different versions of TD5 maps? Is it free to download?
If you want it done properly, you should go to a company that can provide you a bespoke map for your vehicle. Different versions depend on the company and your requirements.
Can you get one if you have a Puma?
Airflow was zero! Is your MAF not working?
After I got my nanocom I discovered the same - new maf and the result changed.
A bad MAF gives such poor acceleration. My MAF had no power to it nanocom helped me sort it and what a difference
Hadn't picked up on that in the moment, will be sure to investigate!
@@TirsbaekTV it's just two clips and a multi plug. Try the one from the Discovery.
Im need a nanocom...you sale?
It would be good to have a digital display like that permanently mounted on an iPad or similar mounted on the dash......
We thought the same! Perhaps something we should look into? 🤔
TirsbaekTV that would be great. I’d love you to review a product or recommend something like that...? 👍👍
I bought a windscreen mount that fits perfectly for my Nanocom Evo. It cost me 40 quid from twinwoods4x4.co.uk/product/tw011-nanocom-windscreen-mount/
how much are they?? love the vid :)
Round about 500€
Anything cheaper can use any ideas ?!
Thanks Joe, prices can be found here: www.nanocom-diagnostics.com/

There is nothing wrong with the MAF sensor, it's just because of the way the remap is set up.
