Afterwards, he played the game well. Told Fredo to dispatch some military personnel to kill Michael’s bodyguard at the right time when he tries to kill a supposedly frail Roth on oxygen. Then Roth flees, Cuba’s being taken over, Michael has to testify at committee meetings engineered by Roth. Michael wins, but Roth is still free, smug, and thinks he’s won. But Michael dispatches Rocco. The rest is history!
