A few funny moments with Liza Soberano
Michael: "Did you do it?" Hymann: "YES. I DIDN'T."
What is the purpose of repeating a few minutes clip of a famous movie made in almost 50 years ago that hundreds of million people from all over the world have seen it? Are you promoting the movie, or making a name for yourself by showing a few minutes clip of a movie that you have done absolutely nothing for its creation?
chill out bruh, chill
This was the greatest scene for this actor.
There is a glitch in the matrix!
Moe Greene never had the makings of a varsity athlete
"Your father worked with Hyman Roth! He never trusted Hyman Roth!" Yeah, those words make perfect sense after seeing this scene.
Roth never had the makings of a Varsity Athlete
He had to say it twice 😂
The women who played Roth's wife should have been nominated for an award. Lol
I know old men tend to repeat themselves, but this is ridiculous.
Underrated
I’m gonna go get the papers, get the papers…
For your father, for your father
That old man was lying about Moe Greene!
For those that didnt know. The gentleman sitting next to Roth is the same actor that played Junior on The Sopranos. He played Johnny Ola in Godfather 2.
Moe greene isn’t the reason Roth went after the Corleone. Michael was moving in on Hyman’s hotels in Las Vegas without approval.
Moe greene isn’t the reason Roth went after the Corleones. Michael was moving in on Hyman’s hotels in Las Vegas without approval.
Ehhh I think it was a combination of them. Human Roth certainly was enraged at Michael for killing Greene and I’m sure that played a part in it. Killing someone in this life doesn’t always have to be for only one reason
Masterful acting by a master of acting.
I think Roth's intentions here was confirming that he was behind the hit but saying don't take it personally you did the same thing to my partner only he didn't survive
I agree I think it was “ya I had Frank killed you had moe killed we are even”
That fellow looks like he's been dying of the same heart attack for twenty years. 💀
In the whole movie hyman roth is the only one that puts michael corleona in the corner
“Mr. Paul? Who the…oh, yeah, that’s me! Mr. Paul.”
Bad recording!
Roth was done and he knew it. If his health djdnt give out, Michael was going to have him whacked. All that was let for him was to spit that lady little bit of venom in Michael’s face before the end.
I read this man’s speech like a book when he was subliminally warning Michael about letting the Moe Green murder go, he was trying to tell Michael to forget about Frank Pentangeli being killed because he let Moe’s murder go
Only thing is he didn’t let the moe Greene murder go lol
It's not personal Sonny. It's strictly business.
This is the exact opposite of cunning. He’s pretty much admitting he tried to kill Michael.
Michael pretty much knows already, just needed him to confirm it. And Roth is already a dead man one way or another, only thing he had left was to throw that last but of venom in Michael’s face.
Hyman Roth = Meyer Lansky. Mo Green = Bugsy Siegal
He always acted sick to dissarm everyone mranwhile he is having them killed.
Junior Soprano in his younger days😮
Said to myself . "Ki" ..This "Ki" is the business we've chosen "Ki" didn't ask " Ki" who gave the order "Ki". Because it had nothing to do with business !
This was Hyman's big mistake. He basically showed all of his cards in this scene.
Roth knows that Michael knows. He's just tired of all the bs and he doesn't care anymore because he thinks he's probably gonna die anyway due to his health problems.
He was exaggerating his nedical issues. It was all staged @razbigranicu
@@keira-f7b didn't Tom say he had a stroke? That was staged?
@@razbigranicuI think he had legit health issues but I also feel he was certainly exaggerating them (Michael- he’s been dying of the same heart attack for twenty years)
that eye movement when he says "who gave the order" was a dead giveaway.
3:25. courtesy your department of redundancy department, sector r.
this scene reveals how wrong Michael was about Roth's motives. his actions in the past (killing Moe Green) haunting him in the present.
Thats how it is
Nah. You need rewind movies
He kind of sold himself out here without any reason. Michael more or less probably knew at this point but he was more interested on the traitor. Roth and this speech wasn't gonna intimidate Michael.
I just think by this point Roth probably just didn’t give a rats ass and was more or less “ya you had moe Greene killed I had Frank killed we are even now”
@dillionoshea7535 I agree, I think Roth was more or less done with the charade and is now letting Michael know that it's on. I guess these conversation is a display of how the old school Mafia talks to each other without posing what is being said on the surface.
SNoRT This SNoRT is the business SNORT, we've SNORT chosen SNORT
Not really cunning. Micheal knows roth is trying to kill him and now he knows why...roth wont be a partner with the guy who killed his friend
Great acting, though it was a strange choice to repeat the last part of the speech
I agree with you on that. Also when I saw the speech that Massive Genius said on The Sopranos to Tony & Hesh it was bonechilling. Also while the mafia had interests in Record Labels, not to mention in Nightclubs in Harlem, it was Jewish Folks who wrote some of the original R & B Songs and Phil & Leonard Chess of Chess Records I think had Jewish as well as Polish Blood.
Roth played this well. He went to a meeting that day, celebrated his 67th birthday, told Michael off about what he saw, then all of a sudden, he’s dying and needs to be put on oxygen and beforehand tells Michael the story about Moe Greene. Afterwards, he played the game well. Told Fredo to dispatch some military personnel to kill Michael’s bodyguard at the right time when he tries to kill a supposedly frail Roth on oxygen. Then Roth flees, Cuba’s being taken over, Michael has to testify at committee meetings engineered by Roth. Michael wins, but Roth is still free, smug, and thinks he’s won. But Michael dispatches Rocco. The rest is history!
P!$$
The Hyman Roth School of Acting
Michael is unimpressed.
I was. Moe Green deserved a statue.
@ fredo put Michael in a pickle.
The only reason Roth is still alive in this scene is because Michael needs clarity as to who the traitor is! Michael was always one step ahead.
One of the most underrated performances in film history: Lee Strasberg - acting guru in real life. Founder of method acting
Underrated???? This is one of the most universally praised & referenced scenes in the history of acting.
@ Ask 100 people who their fav actors were in G1,2,3 and let me know how many say Lee Strasburg.
Nothing special about his acting in this movie.
@@MagnumConcilium In his scenes in this film, Lee Strasburg did one of the two things that movie actors are never supposed to do. He looked like he was acting. The other No-No - Don't Look into the Camera.
@@johnpwrites ZERO.
Roth got into the life after being intriduced to Don Corleone. He was very close to Mo Green. All is revealed in the book.
Hyman: If the money is not on the table, I know I don’t…. Mike: You can have my answer right now, if you want.
😂😂
how is this speech cunning? he basically laid it all out to michael that he knew it was him who ordered the hit on moe which further solidified his suspicion that it was roth who tried to have michael killed
When you're a a Gangster, it's ALWAYS Personal!
as powerful as these jews in hollywood make the italian mafia look, the jews will always be more powerful, how does nobody notice this lmao
When they say it isn't personal that means its personal
ALL, ANY, EACH, AND EVERY TIMES THAT PEOPLE, PERSON, AND SOMEBODY TELLS YOU, AND ME THAT IT IS NOT, AND NEVER PERSONAL, DON'T EVER BELIEVE THEM IT IS ALWAYS, AND MORE THAN JUST PERSONAL, AND THEN SOME!! IT HAS, AND WILL ALWAYS BE PERSON AT ALL TIMES WHATSOEVER, AND IT DOESN'T MATER WHETHER THEY EVER MENTION IT IN ANY PARTICULARS, AND NOR IN ANY SPECIFICES AT ALL WHATSOEVER HOOK, LINE, SINKER, SIGNED, SEALED, DELIVERED, POINT, BLANK, AND PERIOD!!
What is life, if it is not, PERSONAAAAL
Michael Jordan understands this
@@alpkorsan - Crazy ass Gyp Rossetti 😂
IT IS PERSONA-
I don’t know who won the Best Supporting Actor Oscar that year, but they really dropped the ball by not giving it to Lee Strasberg.
I believe Deniro got it. I might've given it to Cazale. 4 supporting actors got nominated from this movie, and none of them was Robert Duvall. Incredible.
@@ryanadams2277 All great actors, no doubt.
I didnt ask who won the best supporting actor oscar that night because it had nothing to do with business!
There uou go, talking loud, saying stupid things…
lol imagine saying someone should have won an award whilst simultaneously admitting you don’t know who actually won it 😂😂 sorry but that’s a clown comment
It is crazy how much menace you feel from an ailing old man in this scene.
I kinda feel while Roth was sick he was certainly playing it up
