@@mamag58 If you have a Captain he will have a subordinate, a commander. But a commander can also be the captain of the vessel. He will be the highest ranking member of the ship. It's not uncommon on small-er-ish vessels that full 4-bar ranking captains are not in command. As with a tender or destroyer....in this case the highest ranking member is a 3-bar commander, but being the highest ranking member he is also captain. So...every captain will have a commander but not every commander will have a captain. Actually most of the markings are either paint (waterborne or solventborne) sprayed directly on the pavement or thermoplastic that is heated and melted onto the road. The thermoplastic material can be delivered in forms that are assebled and melted in place. Also in long rolls. Then there is the tape mentioned (adhesive on the back) that is rarely used. About the bricks, in older roads, they were layed by hand, of course. Sure, newer roads aren't all that way, but in most older brick roads, like down the center of a very old town, they most likely were layed by hand, and in many places I know, they're still the original bricks, kept with just a small amount of maintenance every once in awhile. Still, it's annoying as heck to drive on; they're so bumpy!
I live around a historical area, and there's tons of bricks laid on the sidewalk in town with little memorials imprinted onto each brick. Each one has a different name and date. The memorialized bricks are basically scattered about town, lain in with the other, normal ones. But there are areas where it's just a large area of names on the ground

#5. Not true, the commanding officer of any ship is called Captain, regardless of his actual rank. #1 The tape is used where the markings are temporary, like in construction zones. They usually paint the markings.
Not true.. I have seen those tape ones used many times.. But they are usually used in places where paint would get worn off fast due to traffic wearing them down.. places like the multiple white lines where you are supposed to stop at a red light, and even a lot of arrows to tell you it is a turning lane.. But again, these are area that are usually "very" high traffic.. Not your everyday side road, or on very old blacktop.. But I did get a laugh at his "could you imagine how long this would take trying to paint this" comment to the handicapped sign.. Uh.. Lay the stencil down, spray paint over it, pick the stencil up, done.. Yup.. Really hard.. lol PS.. Those stencils they sell are not that expensive (considering all the work that they save), and are made out of plastic, so definitely reusable for hundreds of times..
You asked how hard is it to lay out the handicap symbol? It's not, I used a stencil. Paint. And boom. Done. All these thing are common sense knowledge.

Exactly. I was US Navy for 9 years (until 2016). Majority of ship Captains are actually LCDR or CDR's. rarely will you rind an actual captain be captain of a ship unless its huge like a carrier. Most Captain CO's are large unit CO's which aren't ships.

As a former Navy man I think you should consider that though "Captain" Crunch may carry the rank of Commander he may also in fact be a Captain if he commands a base or ship. Naval Commanders regularly command smaller ships where they are always called "Skipper" or "Captain" by the crew because of that role. Thanks.
This video shows all signs of clickbait and cheapness: 1. There are green check marks and red x’s in the thumbnail. 2. The video is 2 seconds over 10 minutes.
TheDutchGuy110 I watch these type of videos on my ps vita. I get 0 advertisement and I oddly don't get counted as a view. I have to rewatch a video 10 times to be counted as one view.
When I worked as an engineer I spent alot of time on construction sites or warehouse sites, ive seen plenty of paths done by hand, some are done by machine but I've definitely seen more bricks laid on the ground by hand.
7:30 thats not how those machines work. You still need people to lay the bricks, all this machine does is allow you to lay brick while standing up. Its DOES NOT lay brick by itself.
Yep, lets you have a team of guys laying brick while standing essentially in one place on that platform on the front as the machine is advanced slowly.
#5 Captain Crunch may be a Commander (O5) by rank, but could still be in command of a destroyer or frigate. The officer in command of a ship in the Navy is referred to as Captain, regardless of what their actual rank is. So calling him Captain Crunch is still perfectly valid. Of course you could also call him Skipper Crunch, but that has less of a ring to it.
I agree, since he is the highest ranking of his ship, so he's the captain, despite his actual rank. Since he's a fictional character, it's a rather moot point, anyway.
My friends mom worked at an advertising place and when they were taking pictures of a burger and when they wanted it to look smokey they told some employee smoking a cigarette to stand behind the burger and wave it around to create smoke
#1 Whovian \{•-•}/ Not a bad idea. I use incense sticks because you can control the smoke more better. I also have my assistant use a light reflector to crate the "hair in the wind" effect.
it is pretty crazy to see how these pictures are taken. These group of guys from a couple months ago create a picture from in front of a tv. The way it was lit, and the position of the person, seemed like the one person could have really been at a football game.
Actually 5 Ranks , BUT Admiral of The Fleet, Admiral, Vice Admiral, Rear Admiral and Commodore are still TECHNICALLY the Captain whilst in command of a SINGLE ship. It is more likely that they would be on board the "FLAG SHIP" where they would not be in command of the ship but in command of the FLEET ie more than one. The Officer in COMMAND of the Flag Ship is still the Captain.
In the US, naval officers rank, from lowest to highest: Ensign, Lieutenant (Junior Grade), Lieutenant, Lt. Commander, Commander, Captain then the so-called Flag ranks: Rear Admiral, Vice Admiral, Admiral etc. I might have 'RA' & 'VA' reversed - never could keep them straight.
Flag ranks - Rear Admiral (lower half), Rear Admiral (upper half), Vice Admiral, and Admiral, ranked in order from 1 to 4 stars. There's also the 5 star Fleet Admiral but that's rare, I think WW2 was the last time for that.
In some areas, painting the lines on the road is the most efficient/safest way to make the lines. Using the painting machines does not require closing down a stretch of road/street, it does not need to have an extensively large crew and is generally less expensive to the jurisdiction hiring the workers, or the company hired to do the work. Even though the paint isn't as 'tough' as the tape, it is still used extensively in the upper midwest/plains states, as the tape is much more expensive than paint. The paint colors have been pretty much standardized by now, so no exact mixing of colors is needed.
Aquamage 97 true... I can see where your coming from. although this time the thumbnail had perfect use in the video, but most of the world still use paint. also he showed a paint brush which could be misleading. but I suppose all youtubers do it in a respectable way so they can earn views to earn money.
Well toad’s entry is debatable because the show was confirmed to be non-cannon and as far as I know that was the only time toad was shown taking off his mushroom, so in theory toad’s mushroom is his head
I don't know where you got your info on the road painting stuff but 99.9% of the time roadmarkings it's painted and blowtorched to dry the paint. They also just use stencils for the arrows and handicap signs... and any place that snows would have to plow the roads and that shit would just get peeled up tape.
Actually this video is right, you get pre- rolls of tape of which you cut to a certain length then roll out and heat using a so called flame thrower to the ground. No using this flame thrower is not illegal as it is needed for the lines to melt to the ground. I am from the uk and a road worker myself.
The Brick-Machine was a new invention in the Netherlands and it existed only 3 of them in 2014. Since then (and in Germany still commonly) people lay Bricks by hand!
For that machine, yes, they have people lining up the bricks. They have other machines on the front of a bobcat now that pick up layers of bricks from a pallet and lay them all down at once, just one person driving the bobcat and one person to align the brick. It does about 4x4 foot patches in one go, and only needs manual labor to place 2 interconnecting bricks.
The ones I have seen on TV or in videos, yes, even with the machines they have people standing there putting the bricks in the particular pattern on the machine where they down a chute and the machine lays them down in that pattern. They don't just dump them in a hopper and let the machine do the pattern. I'm sure it's possible, I've just never seen a machine that does that.
people with basic observation would realize the thick and coarse core of pineapple can no way connect to tree branches, so it must grow on the ground…but i guess some snowflakes will be proud of their ignorance in the down-to-earth knowlege
I used to be a purchasing agent for a road construction company in Florida. When the striping and signage company "painted" the lines on the road, it wasn't paint that they used. It's melted thermoplastic. If they were painting lines on a highway, then they used a big truck. Looks like paint spraying onto the road but it's melted plastic. Immediately behind the sprayer is an applicator that puts a layer of ground up glass on the melted plastic while it's still "wet". For smaller things like arrows or stop lines, they use a push cart that also dispenenses melted thermoplastic and glass dust. Of course there are many places, including Florida, where all of those things are done with actual paint or by melting plastic tape with a torch. You can tell the difference by looking closely at the finished product. Just don't look closely during rush hour :)
Captain is a rank in the US Navy (and others around the world), but it's also a TITLE accorded to anyone who commands a vessel at sea, military or civilian. It's pretty common for US Navy ship Captains to be ranks other than captain - such as commander. And civilians who command ships are also called Captain. Rank and position are two separate things.
If a commander (rank) is in command of a ship, go ahead and call him Captain. If an admiral commands a ship do not call him Captain. You would be very sorry of you did.
The thing about the thermal activated line markings is that they are extraordinarily slick when wet. They've been responsible for quite a few accidents especially involving motorcycles, bicycles, and even pedestrians.
If you enjoyed this, you'll definitely enjoy the other videos in this series!

Naval Commanders regularly command smaller ships where they are always called "Skipper" or "Captain" by the crew because of that role. Thanks.
So, “Skipper The Penguin” from MadAgasCar” is a “commander captain”
This video shows all signs of clickbait and cheapness:
1. There are green check marks and red x’s in the thumbnail.
2. The video is 2 seconds over 10 minutes.

When I worked as an engineer I spent alot of time on construction sites or warehouse sites, ive seen plenty of paths done by hand, some are done by machine but I've definitely seen more bricks laid on the ground by hand.
I laid my brick patio by hand.
The toad one is wrong. The Tv show is noncanon. Simply put, it is not true.
Pizzadude 12345 Ikr i was like BOI thats the show, the show is noncanon and toad is his own species much like yoshi is of his species
Wow
So it's just a giant spine and knee saving aparatus?
@@rickypen Yup

If Commander Crunch has his own personal ship, then hes a Captain. Hes a civilian captain.
Even if in the U.S. Navy, and a Commander in command of their vessel, they are referred to as Captain.
"They use green paint" shows green slime.
Shwoodle I was looking for this comment 😂
Who tf believes pineapples grow on trees and under water???????

#5 Captain Crunch may be a Commander (O5) by rank, but could still be in command of a destroyer or frigate. The officer in command of a ship in the Navy is referred to as Captain, regardless of what their actual rank is. So calling him Captain Crunch is still perfectly valid. Of course you could also call him Skipper Crunch, but that has less of a ring to it.
...well this just wasted 10 minutes of my time...i knew all of this
HIimAnonymous! A same ;-;
HIimAnonymous! Woah youre smart i absolutely envy you.

You will not ruin my childhood with your Toad stories.
The show isn't canon

The commanding officer (CO) onboard a ship is called the captain, regardless of rank. Capt Crunch can be the captain.
But he's talking about his rank solely not position
I agree, since he is the highest ranking of his ship, so he's the captain, despite his actual rank. Since he's a fictional character, it's a rather moot point, anyway.
At 9:37 in the background, it actually said 'England is my city'.
How creative the comment is...
Elevate it says England is not a city.
+Marley Kingston A reply to that comment says 'England is my city'.
Marley Kingston England is a city in Arkansas
So
The comment actually says, "England is not a city" Bolded and in all caps.

The title of CAPTAIN is granted to any officer in COMMAND of a Ship. No matter what his actual rank maybe.
Commanders are technically Captains right?

Micah Nungesser depends where because from where I'm from they're all folded
Eric91611 it's not like he said every store does this. But it is true because I have seen that foam with towels in some stores
I'm quite sure that everybody knows pineapples grow on bushes
Mine Fussel no i actually found out last month when i saw a baby pinapple growing on a stem in my friends neighborhood
I did not know that 0.0
yeah agree 😂 theres a lot on my backyard
an to regrow them, just cut the top of the fruit and plant it 😂
And somehow Durians and Coconuts grow on trees D: Pretty counter-intuitive unless you already knew it factually.
Mine Fussel everyone should know
I loved the "Cap'n Crunch is an imposter"
Stranger Things yeah, but it make s the assumption that the captain is part of the us military and not some breakfast land navy.
the vast majority of Captains of Naval Vessels hold the rank of Commander. So he is NOT an imposter.

This video isn't technically clickbait. The title's patronizing, but the road tape in the thumbnail _does_ happen in the video.

Aquamage 97 true... I can see where your coming from. although this time the thumbnail had perfect use in the video, but most of the world still use paint. also he showed a paint brush which could be misleading. but I suppose all youtubers do it in a respectable way so they can earn views to earn money.
When they photograph Ice Cream, they use colored mashed potatos.
or more usually, play doh ish stuff.
Pretty much.
this was the biggest lie of my life
Actually, they use shaving cream because it doesn't melt under all of those lights.

FoodTech Yeremy your wrong they don't use blow torches it's illgal to do they paint by a walk behind sprayers
The paint that is used dries fast when it come out if the line striping machine there is no reason to have to speed dry it with torches.
Is true
Actually this video is right, you get pre- rolls of tape of which you cut to a certain length then roll out and heat using a so called flame thrower to the ground. No using this flame thrower is not illegal as it is needed for the lines to melt to the ground. I am from the uk and a road worker myself.
DontRageBroYT must be a U.K. Thing. I live in USA and I've seen them paint the road.

The Brick-Machine was a new invention in the Netherlands and it existed only 3 of them in 2014. Since then (and in Germany still commonly) people lay Bricks by hand!
Don't the bricks need to be aligned by hand even with the machine?
+saedin i dont think so
There have been several different style automatic brick laying machines around for a decade or so now.
Success isn't just about what you accomplish in your life; it's about what you inspire others to do.
-The Shades ❤

Any officer who is the Commanding Officer of a ship is called the Captain regardless of rank.
Wait.... hello kitty has a gender? *Mind blown*
Hello Kitty is not a cat. Might have seen that on this channel.
The flag captain is in command of the ship, the admiral will command the group of ships, each its own.

The thing about the thermal activated line markings is that they are extraordinarily slick when wet. They've been responsible for quite a few accidents especially involving motorcycles, bicycles, and even pedestrians.
