I've learned so much from this channel! Many fun games as well! To anybody reading, it's worth checking out the series of italian card games. They are quick and easy to learn, considering the fact that he teaches them so well!

Pips can be the dice/dominoes/cards, or the actual dots on the dice/dominoes/cards. So, some pips have pips. Other pips like checkers, backgammon pieces, and poker chips don't.

Great observation. While there is no RNG since it’s a game of pure skill it still uses Pips, the grid. To employ strategies the otherwise identical spaces have been given individual names h7, g5, etc. It’s a bit of a stretch but I think it applies. Maybe?

I disagree with he take on cards, as the evaluation of Face Cards vary greatly thus they are not pips as they do not have fixed obvious standard values. Nor do the suits have order to them in truth it feel like a stretch.

Face cards don't have have a 'fixed obvious standard value' in relation to what? In poker they have very rigid ranks: J - Q - K. In blackjack they may all have the value of 10, but they are still distinct from each other whether for side games or Splitting rules. Different games interpreting the pips differently has no relation on the validity of said pips, even dice are subject to interpretation. A d6 six can be reduced to a d3, 2 d10's can make a d100 (which many debate between being 0-99 or 1-100), or dice can have non-numerical pips on them. Also Suits do have a standard order: S - H - D - C , which is mostly important for placing the dealer button. But even in other games (especially trump based games) suits have order and importance.

Thanks @plasmasloth8201 ! I was going to respond similarly but you summed it up nicely! Pips can be any kind of marking including letters such as K or A. And yes cards 100% have rigid standard values based on the games they are played with. Whether or not the suits have order doesn’t matter as they distinguish new sets of a unique sequence. This may not matter in some games but they are absolutely there to create distinct pips for many games. I do appreciate the first opinion of @gabe6108 but I feel like some push back is warranted. Please keep watching and sharing your own takes I’m here to learn too!
