CZ P07 was an absolutely blast to shoot. Very low recoil and great trigger make for a super easy pistol to shoot!

I'm a recently retired LEO and started my career in the 80's carrying a revolver (still love em) then we transitioned to the Sig P220 45 ACP so I am comfortable with the double/single trigger. For the last 25 years we were carrying Glock 22/17 love them too I have several and still carry one now. But my CZ P09 still shoots tighter groups at the range. Just found your channel, trying to catch up on all your reviews.

I've got one, and it's my favorite. There are 7 or 8 9mms in my collection and this would be the last one I'd get rid of.
It's got some CGW trigger components, has been stippled and I had NC Engravers mill the slide for a RMSC footprint and Cerakote the slide. It's a beast, it never ever fails to feed or fire. It's very flat shooting and with the trigger job I did at home it's just amazing.
I cannot recommend the P07 enough as an all around platform. Especially if you carry AIWB. That hammer may save your jewels.

I love this pistol, particularly with the extended threaded barrel. It's also great having multi-strike capability in case you get dirt between the hammer and pin, or a light primer strike. These are extremely tough and reliable. They're also a pleasure to shoot, being one of the softest shooting 9mm's. I was cross shopping this and a multi-tude of similar sized mostly striker fired carry pieces. Side by side with like the S&W M&P 2.0, Glock 19, PPQ, Sig P320, Sig P365, even CZ's own P10C, the P07 was the softest shooting out of all of them. I think it's a combination of ot being a hammer fired pistol, along with the inset low slide, and a polymer frame, all add up to a very soft recoil feel.

After not having any pistols for a long time, I found myself wanting one for home defense. Of course, this was during the height of a global health crisis, and availability was spotty. I found myself with a CZ P10F, and soon after bought a P10S to be a carry piece. The grip on the P10S is too short for my hands, so I tried carrying at P10C for a while.
Being new to concealed carry, I was uncomfortable with carrying with "one in the pipe." No judging from me regarding others' views, of course. I had also read that lots of folks fail to train to disable a thumb safety, so I tended away from having such on my striker-fired pistols. As I learned more about how pistols work and how other systems function, I decided that I needed to check out the P07 (I had by then tried a couple of M&P and SigSauer options, and found that I'm a little bit of a CZ guy). The DA/SA trigger took some acclimation, but I'm far more mentally comfortable carrying "hot" with that DA trigger. Since owning the P07, I found a good deal on a P09, and that's now my home defense piece of choice, since it's just a bigger version of the P07. I quite like the textured rest point for my index finger to help me know my finger is not on the trigger!
I've seen videos where the reviewer was very critical of the trigger. I get it, it's not a custom-rigged 1911 or a $1500 Shadow race gun. But for little old me, it's a solid reliable piece.

Full size just feels like a real serious hand gun. I'm debating whether to get a P-01 or PCR, but my mind is telling me that the P-07 is the most logical & practical for carry. Plus, I already have a holster that will work. Just waiting for the prices to come down to $300-$350 like P-09's are right now.

After owning a P07 for a few weeks, I scored a P09 off that famous online auction site that already had a Vortex Viper Red Dot Sight mounted. It's an older version, I guess, as its mags won't work in my newer P10F, but the mags from my P10F have the right cuts to work in my P09.
My P07 has been my EDC, and the P09 makes for a great home defense piece since it's operationally the same gun with longer sight radius and more mag capacity.

The only thing I want to change on my compact is getting a larger sight (change to night as well) on the front. I noticed in dry fire exercises in the house the CZ acquires almost instantly and it has larger dots on the sights. The Walther after a rapid movement needed me to adjust. But the CZ has some mush/grain before the trigger break where the Walther is butter. New sight for the Walther and trigger work for the CZ and I’ll have two fantastic guns.

Since you appear to be left handed, I'll take the opportunity to ask: how does this stack up against other handguns in terms of ease of use for lefties? I've shot a handful of different pistols belonging to friends and family and had rather mixed results, from ones where I didn't feel any major disadvantage to shooting leftie to one particular gun that I had to switch into my right hand anytime I wanted to do anything other than pull the trigger.

If only there weren't so many sweets... The CZ factory for Europe offers different products than for the USA. Very young people work in the plant, quality control is poor and it does not detect errors in the fitting of gun components. That's why complaints to the manufacturer are frequent because the gun shoots sideways. The new gun out of the box has a terrible trigger action. I recommend disassembling the trigger mechanism, you will all see tool marks and scratches on the trigger rail. In 2025, in the middle of Europe, such a performance is a shame. As if they were making agricultural tools and not weapons. I have P07 because I like this system very much, but I wouldn't buy it again. Today I would choose the CZp09 SR for its longer and more accurate barrel.
