CZ P07 9mm: Tactical Duty Pistol Built For The Fight

  • It is rare to find a pistol that can be had for less than $500 with the same quality and performance of a pistol twice that price. The CZ P07 is one of these pistols that is making the competition sweat.
With a Glock 19 overall size, it steps right in the way of the “compact” duty pistol market at a price that beats out the competition. Sure, it doesn’t have the entire aftermarket catering to turn it into a racegun.
Sure, it isn’t the easiest gun to find parts and affordable magazines for. But this pistol was built to fight. Fighting pistols are like racing cars in that they don’t need bluetooth and radio controls at the drivers’ fingertips, but merely a fast and reliable engine, a solid body, and a user competent enough to run it to its’ full potential.
After 10,000 rounds, the CZ P07 has become one of the most respected pistols in my collection, at least in its size class.

Thank you very much for the video. The P07 is one of my all-time favorite polymer pistols. Cheers!

When I was new to pistols, my first handgun was a P10F. I eventually added a P10S to be my EDC, but found that the longer grip on the P10C fits my hand better.
Like many new pistol owners, I was nervous about carrying with one in the chamber. I've exercised with strategies to limit negligent discharges, but the nervousness remained. As my self-guided education continued, I learned more about how DA/SA trigger systems can function as a safety feature, and decided to try a P07. The learning curve on that DA trigger mode was something, to be sure, but it reinforced that I was making a better choice.
I LIKE my P07. I like it so well, I found a P09 so that I'd have the same DA/SA trigger system in a home defense pistol with more magazine capacity (using the same magazines as my P10F, and the -F mags work fine in the P07 and P10C so I have larger capacity second mags for EDC!).
But that decocker still seemed a bit awkward to me. I tried a CZ 75D PCR, and it suits me even better.
But I might get my P07 slide machined to take a red dot sight at some point.

I carry a Px4 storm compact with the LTT package and it shoots like a dream, the recoil impulse is minimal
For HD my CZ p07 urban grey(CGW PP) sits on the night stand with a TLR1-HL.....hands down my favorite pistol of all time, regretfully sold my first one back in 2017 and took me a second time around to appreciate it lol
Decockers take a bit to get the hang of but trust me this...when you get familiar and confident it becomes second nature...
I used to be a die hard Glock guy (I still carry glocks from time to time) but ill always be a hammer fired guy.....the extra pull weight from DA is an POM safety to a sweet and pleasant SA pull and reset.
I highly recommend the CGW pro package for the p07 and the LTT package for the px4 storm....
2 phenomenal pistols that are comfortable, rugged, reliable and accurate.
A CZ p09 is on my list next if I can track one down in urban grey to match lol

I've had one for 7 years. I bought it as a my duty hand gun. Don't use it as an edc. anymore but its still services me as my bed side firearm. Definitely built to last and I can always trust it to go bang when I pull the trigger.

Its a fun gun at the range and built like a tank for carry duty. It can easily be SHTF pistol and for an older design its still a beauty. 😍

I sold my all metal Sig P320 AXG Carry (LEO/EMS edition) as it was too heavy for EDC. Instead, I bought the CZ P-07 with the intent to use it as a CCW/Home Defense pistol! I always upgrade all my pistols to a SS guide rod and spring and am doing so with the P-07 (CGW SS guide Rod and #18 spring), a set of Dawson sights, a MCarbo spring kit and a set of Talon Grips! This pistol should be a tack-driver and a workhorse for years to come. I already have a CZ 75B Omega and love that trigger system. I leave them set up as a decocker!

I named my P 07 Monica, after Monica Belluci. But my P 07 is so much more beautiful and elegant.

Really can't beat these for the price. It's my primary for IDPA and plan to carry it eventually with a Tier1 appendix rig. Holosun EPS carry will be added at some point too

@johndunbar1678 not sure honestly. I believe idpa changed the rules to 15rd max for stock service pistol. I'm in CT so we're limited to 10rds

My p07 shoots high. I understand that it's caused by the standard front sight (nr 3). I am thinking about replacing it with a taller one

wrong. learn how to shoot it. it should be zero at 15m by factory. work on your skills not on your stuff ;)

@@PeacemakerPL I got the skills, don't worry. It was sighted to aim slightly below the target, which I don't like. My other cz's are sighted with point of aim is point of impact, which is how I like to shoot it. I replaced the sights with dawson precision sights. Now they are ok

I bought one based off Honest Outlaw's praise, and I really don't get what's so great about it. The slide is so thin from top to bottom you can barely get a grip on it, disassembly is not tool-free, and the front sight is held in with a set screw that's impossible to remove. Also, the stock trigger is absolute garbage. DA is heavy as hell and SA is super mushy and gritty with literally zero wall or break. Had to Cajunize it, DA now good, but it's still kinda shitty in SA
