It's very informative. I have no hesitation to thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience which may help to beautify our world and brother hood
Hi im from singapore.. some garderners who sold me plant ,said ..Water only when soil dries..Some told cut leaves from middle ,i put banana peel to my jamin pant soon my plant died ..Ent were there in soil .So do i boil banana peel to remove sweetness to avoid ants? Tell me all home furtilizwrs to accelrate the flowerings in boganvellita.
That Bougainvillea is growing very good because it has oxygen to its roots from the crack if you give more holes or cracks to your planters your plants will grow larger just by giving up that extra oxygen to the roots
I dont mean to be off topic but does anyone know a tool to get back into an instagram account? I stupidly lost the account password. I would love any help you can offer me.
@Eddie Rylan i really appreciate your reply. I found the site on google and im in the hacking process now. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
I have grown eight nos of dirrent colors bagaunvillea, one varigated spacies cross with white but no progess.two plants in soil flowering gradually.used 20:20:20 npk every twenty days.advice flowering ,blooming heavily
Which type of pot is suitable for a bougainvillea plant plastic , ceramic or clay pots ? I have a ceramic and someone told me plastic is better ... could you pls specify
I'm unsure where you're located but curious how your bougies did Re flowering this season? Here in Tampa-area FL, we had a very unique season where our bougies weren't blooming much, usually I'm fighting to rip-off flowers as soon as they occur (I'm developing/growing-out bougies as pre-bonsai so I can't waste resources on flowers, YET!), but this season I've got a majority of my bougies that didn't flower ONCE despite flowering several times last summer, very very weird! Not just with my specimen but a lot of my clients have in-ground bougies and they've had the same issue, minimal/wimpy flowering if flowers at all!
In Kolkata where I live....it rains from July till October 1-2nd week...during this period the bougainvilleas don't flower that much...but otherwise...for the remaining months they do bllom regularly...but every blloming clycle is almost 1 month apart...generally once it blooms , the flowers stay for around 2 weeks...and I prune off the flowers only when I see that no more new buds are coming up and the flowers have started to loose its colour.
This may work in your location, not everyone has that same location. I have mine in a pot that gets the 6 hrs or more of sun, and no blooms. I was told not to overwater, but do so when you see it starting to wilt. In a 6''inch pot, it wilts every 2 days or such. Come Fall, then it starts to bloom, but then I have to bring it indoors and the blooms don't last too long, cause sun not that strong indoors. Obviously, you live in a location that you can leave it out all year.
I agree to that. In our location the blooming time is mainly from October to May -June. Only during the monsoon the bloom is restricted. Otherwise during winter months it give lots of blooms.Obviously in colder places during winter months you have to bring the plant indoor. Anyways during the summer months you may try a trick. Do not water the plant for say 1-2 weeks. Let all the leaves fall and then suddenly after 2 weeks start watering the plant heavily .This triggers blooming. Also prune your plant from time to time. Bougainvillea blooms on fresh stems. Try using potash rich fertilizers. Hope that would help
for people living in Kolkata, Inactive months(monsoon time) - July to September, Active months - rest of the year.....whenever the sky is clear and there is bright sunlight, you can let the plant dry for a week, then apply fertiliser , prune off the tips and start watering heavily...after blooming is finish, againn let the plant dry for a week and repeat the same....just before the spring sets in...february end i.e., can be a good time for hard pruning. Gist of the matter is , whenever the weather is dry, hot and sunny, bougainvilleas will bloom...cloudy sky and heavy watering will reduce flowering
What fertilizing regime would you recomend for a 4 month old Bougainvillea, that started flowering already ? Unfortunately she droped them all off after one month. I think it was a watering issue. I may gave her to much. Well, it's a young plant that started growing two month ago and needs to grow first.
let it grow big at first...apply nitrogen fertiliser like mustard cake/compost/NPK once a week, water daily...keep in bright sunlight...dont expect much flowering during this period
thank you sir for sharing such information and your all plants are so beautiful. sir are these all bougainvillea plants shown in video vine variety or bush variety. plz answer, I have vine varieties can I make them bushy plant ?
Bougainvilleas can be trained to take different forms. If you let them grow in length, they can take the form of vines and if you cut them short and prune them regularly so that more lateral brnaches come up, then they will take the form of bushes. Personally I have not come across any variety which is specifically vine or bush.
I have 2 boungainvillea with more than 6 months but it isnt growing. Some times the leaves bloom but got dried. And flower have never been bloomed. What should I do? Could be a lot of watering? I have been watering almost every day. I also noticed that the leaves have some small pragues, how could I avoid them? Thank you and congratulations for the vídeo!!
Water every 2-3 days only when leaves start to wilt and keep the plants under direct sunlight. Bougainvilleas do not die easily so don't worry even if the leaves fall and dry out. Pinch off the tip of each branch..that will promote new growth. Do not over water because that way flowers will not come.
Off course flowers will come...bougainvillea in soil requires even less care..after the plant is established in soil you need not water and apply fertilizer at all in the soil...the garden soil has enough nutrients for it....Make sure that the plant faces maximum amount of direct sunlight throughout the day and prune the tree from time to time - one hard pruning in a year and regular soft pruning after the flowering is over....remove all the flowers(which have not fallen off) along with the small stem which carries the flower(shown in the video). This little care will make your plant more than happy and it will gift you tonnes of flowers!!
Even spiritual power need some kind of body and that is why flower that never rotten like beaufainvile is a good start to build future base body for Buddha and God ect...that is why Budhist preserve body in statue or build statues for buddha resting place just like our house
Sir,thanks a lot for your info.Apreciatte very much . Question :during winter season the temperature, here ,could be around 1 to 5 degrees Celsius. what can I do to protect my bougainvillea? thanks for your attention.
Sir, if the bougainvillea is in a pot try to keep it indoor as too low temperature is harmful for bougainvilleas. If the plant has grown tall in the pot you can prune it off to make it fit indoor.I have seen bougainvilleas grown in Indian hill stations as well where temperatures do drop close to freezing point. So I hope that the plant will not die but the place where I live temperature does not go below 10°C and my plants stay fine.
Whenever there is bright sunlight (no rain + no cloudy sky)....bougainvillea flowers profusely...in Kolkata October end to beginning of June is the best time...every time flowering is over we need to prune off the twigs carrying the spent off flowers...this promotes flowering for the next cycle....apart from this if you want to give the plant a particular shape then you can prune it before the monsoons....you can watch this video for more details about bougainvillea pruning . ruclips.net/video/-8LxKoYdJL0/видео.html
when flower buds appear....water regularly otherwise flowers will fall off...only when flowering is completely done...and mature flowers start to fall off(after 2-3 weeks of flowering)....reduce the watering
It's very informative. I have no hesitation to thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience which may help to beautify our world and brother hood

Technically, the flowers are only the tiny things inside the colourful bracts. The colourful bracts are modified leaves, not flowers.
you are correct!
Thank you!for your info,from malaysia.

Thank you Mam!!
Why are you needlessly pruning them . It's better that you Prune once branches have become devoid of flowers. They grow better and healthy.
Exactly 😂.. pruning only done after the flowering ends
