I was a financial analyst for a manufacturing company, and we had 1 of our 6-7 plants in Mexico. We would run reports to determine what the cost per measurement was for each plant each month. Sure, the labor in our plant in Mexico was 1/3rd of one of our U.S. plants, but there were several issues that ate the savings and made that plant less cost efficient as our 2 best U.S. plants. Turnover was way too high. This negatively impacted the quality of the product, which increased the number of products that couldn't be sold and warranty claims. There were several other problems, but the turnover is what caused quality issues, IMO.
A Toyota dealership in Turnersville, NJ messed up my new Camry purchase. But they still had my $500 deposit and I was still willing to buy a car from them. BUT the sales manager, you know the guy that comes to try and lock in the sale when the salesman can't. Well he came at me with an ATTITUDE! He managed to snatch defeat from the mouth of victory. They had a 21 point lead with 30 seconds left on the clock and their Sales "Manager" Screwed it up. He got insulting and said why don't we just refund your deposit you're not happy. I WAS disappointed with the situation but was still there to buy a car and I was putting $21K down on it! I was unhappy with HIS attitude!
Mines not a hybrid, but I recently got a 2020 Corolla SE Hatchback with only 5500k on it. So far I've been loving it. For "just a Corolla" they're honestly really nice little cars, and come with a lot of modern features and comforts. Before this I had a 2012 Mini Cooper, and that thing was fun to drive, but it made me want a car that's just reliable. I'm really hoping to make this Toyota last. Want to try to take it to 150k, and with the mileage I put on that's going to take forever.
2.0 Ecoboosts engines are very reliable and definitely are tried and true now. Been out a little over a decade and haven't had any major issues really. Very dependable engine with decent power figures.
@@MarkMeridiusDecimus My 2015 ford fusion with the typical 6 speed has been 100% reliable and zero tranny issues. Shifts totally fine. Idk about the 8 or 10 speed, but I am picking up my Ford Maverick in December with an 8 speed. We'll see. Engine though, been 100% totally reliable and dependable.
My 2008 ford ranger 3.0 liter engine is the most reliable vehicle I’ve ever owned only item need replacing was the heater fan, Tolstoy cost approximately 100 dollars. Wish ford could make all the cars they make this reliable.
The 3.0 have valve problems and get very bad gas mileage. I had a 2003 Ranger. Only got 18 mpg and it was stick. I seen f150s with the 5.0L get better mileage.
Have to disagree with going with the gas Maverick instead of Hybrid. Scotty you’ve said yourself that Ford uses licensed hybrid tech from Toyota. And Ford’s ecoboost engines are known to be problematic. Not to mention- they’ve also noticed some trans issues on those ecoboosts. No problems with trans on the hybrid due to the eCVT.
In 2011 i bought a brand new Corolla S....120k miles later, other than common issues, I've only replaced the alternator. Next year my son is getting his DL ....he already knows that's his car.
I have a 2022 ford maverick xlt fx4. 30,000 miles later, still love the thing. Mostly highway miles, ranging from 29-32 mpg. Incredibly smooth riding. 16 gallon tank hurts to fill up 😂 but I love the truck
I want to replace the radio in my prius but I am told that the car computer is tied into the radio so I can't replace the radio. I have seen kits through Crutchfield to put a different radio in my car but I am not sure if it will work well or not. Anyone that's done this and can weigh in??? Thanks.
They're not such a great deal. That 23k that Scotty mentioned doesn't include the $1095 destination fee, taxes, fees, license, port installed accessories, dealer markup etc. Here in Dallas, you'll pay 30k OTD for a new Corolla Hybrid LE and 29k OTD for a new Corolla LE
If the government was not behind electric vehicles, very few people would buy them and by the same token, many companies would avoid making them. Electric vehicles eat up a lot of natural resources in their manufacturing process.
Exactly the same can be said of cars in general, without tens of trillions in straight up free infrastructure, literally no one would be driving a private automobile right now.
I would love a 4runner but knowing I can get 2 new corollas for less it doesn't make sense. Sure 4wd would be great but I wonder how many use it more than twice a year while owning the vehicle.

The Toyota trucks with the 22R were something else. If you got a manual and changed the oil and managed not to get T-Boned or rear ended would last till today. Had to do a clutch at 250 thousand. Clutch was original as were the ball joints , universal joints, radiator and the AC still pumped cold air. Great truck for sure!
Yea I pulled the trigger on a maverick. I'm waiting for the scout, but dont regret my decision. IMO, in this case, the reward goes to those that risks. Ford did it to finally give people what they want in trucks. Smaller, affordable, reliant. Hey let Toyota improve I welcome the new era.
I've gotta chance to buy a new Tacoma 2023 with V6. Dealer says it's the last one they will get. Should I buy it? I'm 73 so light use, maybe one I can pass down to a grandkid.
I bought a new 2023 Honda Odyssey EX in June. 280 hp 3.5L V6, 10 speed automatic transmission, front wheel drive, 144.9 cubic feet of cargo space, over 30mpg highway (EPA rated 28 mpg, but I have taken several road trips, and with smooth traffic on cruise control I have gotten 33-35 mpg at times), 18 inch alloy wheels with all season tires, several safety alert systems, made in USA, and tons of other features. I think the Odyssey should be on the list instead of the Maverick.
I checked out the 2023 Odyssey's, front seats were way more uncomfortable to me than the 2016 Odyssey we own. Went with a new 2024 Maverick. Dealer here wanted $10k more for the base Odysseys than the base Maverick with 2.0.
I know you do not like Nissans, but my 2010 rear wheel drive Pathfinder 4x4 is a gem, 90K always serviced with the best Synthetic oil and garage kept I hope to have it a long time . No CVT with a 4 liter rear wheel drive regular automatic transmission it should be with me till I leave this earth.
Having a Ford with a stop/start function, I can honestly say that is the most insane feature I have ever seen on a vehicle. They literally designed the thing to give you are chore every single time you start the car. -lean down, turn the function off. Literally the action that damages your car the most(starting it) and they want you to do it over and over again as you drive in town. For what? to save 1 penny for every stop sign you get to? Insanity.
Toyota Corolla and Prius shared the same platforms for a long time. Its just a preference towards styling. Corolla looks better and less embarrassed. At least the new Prius did change my mind
Yep hope they keep making cheaper reliable cars and pickup trucks in petrol and diesel we still need our vehicles to last us 20years into the future before we rebuild or upgrade them if they keep making quality Toyotas we all will be happy 😊 and its great Toyota are still making a strong full chassis under their rigs 👍
QUESTION: Does one need the special edition of that 4Runner in order to get those same features, or can one get a non-special of a 2023 and accomplish the same thing (for the most part)? Thanks!
My wife and I was looking at one those 4 runners at a dealership here and they wanted 69k. I said that yall are fricken nuts. I was pulling it up on line and showed them, and said it again. I told them that we will go out of state and get one. All these dealership in this town were making new stickers and had them marked up 20k on every single vehicle that was on their lots. Damn crooks.
Because people are paying those prices. They're charging that much because they can. They're doing the same thing with Chargers and Challengers because people are under the impression they are collector cars. Like I tell everyone, just stop buying new cars, learn how to fix them.
i have a question hope it's answered....2018 nissan altima bought for nissan 4 months ago....engine light started to blink. code came up with rod bearings...towed to nissan....they said they updated the computer brain and that fixed the problem...r they screwing me over so they dont have to replace the motor
You saved the best for last, because I would love to have that 4 Runner, except I would like a different color like orange, because I want to be seen and not give someone the excuse of saying that they didn't see me. I've seen a bright orange one before
I’m not against ev, it makes sense if you’re only driving around town to the piggly wiggly and occasional long trip, but what about people like me who own a business where i pull heavy equipment 75-120 miles one way every day, i just don’t think the technology is there to in anyway compete with my 6.7 f350 diesel’s
The switch for most of the start/stop systems I've seen is nothing more than a momentary switch. Usually it's no more complicated than shorting the terminals together permanently and then it's off until you undo that On my dad's F-150 we attached wires and mounted a toggle switch under the dash to control the function, so that when it goes in for service, he can turn that function back on and it acts according to expectations. Much better than always getting annoyed at the first stop light on every drive.
@ironclaw6969 crazy ain’t it? I’m in UK they put that crap on cars too luckily it’s not on our Ford but it’s a dumb feature. If I end up in a proper jam like an accident I’ve got sense to switch car off as long idling no good for any car. But just stopped at lights or waiting at a junction it’s just gonna wear out starter motor etc,,,how it is supposed to save fuel or be greener I can’t believe they added such a naff feature to cars. Mind you world these days. Mind you like Scotty showed us those Tesla with no dash behind wheel it’s all on a screen in the centre, so you got to look away from the road to check speed, fuel etc Elon supposed to be this genius makes cars where people forced to look away from the road rather than be able to just glance down at the wheel. Unbelievable. Fair play whey you did on your dads F-150.
Just don't bother buying extended warranties, which I think for most vehicles is worth the risk. For how often those warranties screw you over, it's a roll of the dice either way. Every vehicle is different. I know with the Civic, you have to take the shifter apart and install a module. Just wish they made the system optional instead of always shoving this crap down people's throats that don't want it.
No lol. A 4 Runner is on a truck frame, a RAV 4 is basically just a car, meaning unibody. They ride better, but if you're in a crash, the odds of the car being totaled is much higher. If you drive off road or tow, body-on-frame is much better.
Major Toyota dealer quoted $7500-12K...They couldn't say until they got it tore down..This after putting on a $700 water pump it apparently didn't need. Acted like they didn't want to do it..Had it 8 days trying to troubleshoot. @@kcassidy90
Need good German made gaskets. If keeps going need new manifold, or junk yard oem one, as yours is warped. And really get rid the vw gdi becomes money pit.
I drove a hybrid corolla rental and was HIGHLY impressed by it, it suddenly went from non existent on my list of possible next car to buy, to near the top!
Vehicles have been “hybrid” for quite a while now, hence the battery, alternator, and all the electrically driven systems that the main combustion engine is reliant on for operation. I know perhaps it’s a play on words and the newer hybrids actually have electric drive motors verses combustion, but still. I always thought getting rid of that electric starter with those old hand crank starters was interesting. Although I have fortunately never had to fight one of those things to start them. Imagine using the electric starter external to the engine. One less component under the hood. Under the hood of some vehicles could use a little more room to work around. Also, I always thought it was amazing to start a vehicle with a manual transmission by just popping the clutch!
Change the oil every 3 to 5 thousand miles. Have had many fords, mostly Ranger and Mustang. 1 Crown Victoria and never had an engine failure. 2.3, 4.0 and 3.0 on the Rangers and got as many as 250.000 mies. The Ranger trucks are bullet proof with ball joints, clutch, of course battery tires and brakes. The Crown Vic needed a new intake manifold(2000) and was expected. At 125.000 miles ran like new. Every Ford bought never left us on the road. 4.6 liter engine on the Crown, it had the plastic intake that should have been a recall replaced when cracked and started spewing coolant on the coil pack. Once fixed like new. These cars can run 300,000 miles with marginal up keep. They are still transporting people as Taxis in every major city in the U.S. They are also still used by the government because of the longevity and the bullet proof design.
I looked at getting a Ford Maverick for a while, but I decided that the Santa Cruz was a much better choice. The standard engine is a lot stronger than the Maverick’s hybrid and the interior was MUCH more refined. Maverick’s have had issues with the seat fabric separating from the cushions. Hyundai also has a better warranty and the infotainment system is waaaaay better than what the Maverick has. Also… you get a smaller cooler in the bed and don’t have to wait for the limited production schedule that the Maverick has. If I were looking at a fleet truck for my business, then I would definitely go with the Maverick. The Santa Cruz is just a better personal vehicle all around.

This guy is a blessing we don't deserve
No tranny issues? Ford sucks for that problem
I have one of each version I show on my videos. The hybrid is practical but the turbo is fun!
@@fordmaverickmaniac Until the turbo goes out and starts to leak oil.

Same did he tell us to get one !?
Scotty I have a 2000 toyota camry.....it has almost 80 thousand miles. I am thinking of a toyota corolla cross. Is this a good car?
Buy a Honda Civic. You can still get the sport model without the turbo crap.
I want to replace the radio in my prius but I am told that the car computer is tied into the radio so I can't replace the radio. I have seen kits through Crutchfield to put a different radio in my car but I am not sure if it will work well or not. Anyone that's done this and can weigh in??? Thanks.
Those new Corolla Hybrids really are a great deal for a daily driver/commuter car! I hear the seats are comfortable, too!

I am looking forward to the STOUT from Toyota, if they offer a basic model it should be able to give that Ford Maverick some real competition.

still have the a OG Toyota pick up truck. good old 22r carb. with a manual 4 speed. It has its issues but it is bulletproof.
@@fredericksweet first truck bought paid 300 bucks, 87 model with 187,000 miles. Drove it for five years and had 267,000 miles. Traded it in and got 1500 bucks. Good payback
Good information. Thank you.
I checked out the 2023 Odyssey's, front seats were way more uncomfortable to me than the 2016 Odyssey we own. Went with a new 2024 Maverick. Dealer here wanted $10k more for the base Odysseys than the base Maverick with 2.0.

Insanity.
You can turn that function off
But to turn it off, you need to do so EVERY TIME you start it up. Easy to get used to.
You are hilarious! Funny thing is I relate to you! Your so right! Ty
Toyota Corolla and Prius shared the same platforms for a long time. Its just a preference towards styling. Corolla looks better and less embarrassed. At least the new Prius did change my mind
Scotty what's your take on 2018-current Nissan Armada?
Yep hope they keep making cheaper reliable cars and pickup trucks in petrol and diesel we still need our vehicles to last us 20years into the future before we rebuild or upgrade them if they keep making quality Toyotas we all will be happy 😊 and its great Toyota are still making a strong full chassis under their rigs 👍
QUESTION: Does one need the special edition of that 4Runner in order to get those same features, or can one get a non-special of a 2023 and accomplish the same thing (for the most part)? Thanks!
You should check to see if any subscribers want to feature one of the newer Priuses. They looks a lot better.
Hi Scotty! What's your opinion on Rislone Hy-per Fuel Octane booster?
Dealer near me has a white 40th with no markup. Not sure if I like it better tan the black but it looks decent.
Scotty, is the kia Stinger a good car to purchase new or used?

Scotty you are a hoot! I love ya and I am new subscriber.. Just curious where you are from??
Thank you Scotty for all of your hard work everyone loves it❤
Me too.
Noice!
Thank you Scotty!

Hi Scotty, is the Toyota 4 Runner same as the Toyota RAV 4?
No lol. A 4 Runner is on a truck frame, a RAV 4 is basically just a car, meaning unibody. They ride better, but if you're in a crash, the odds of the car being totaled is much higher. If you drive off road or tow, body-on-frame is much better.

I love my Maverick. Best vehicle I have had in a long time. Fyi, my last truck was a Tacoma. Great truck. My second car is an LS430. Best car.
How about the Maverick AWD?
Yes a hyundai is a great choice. Probably would have been better to literally get anything else but
Warranty is only good if they decide to honor it.......
