Mike McChesney I highly Doubt he will be driving this beauty in the rain, let alone puddles. I avoid puddles like the plague in my cars. I once reversed back down an entire street to avoid huge puddle blocking thr road. Lol.
I was super tired when I commented about the overflow and washer tank, you already have the 4th gen overflow tank, and obviously don't have room for the washer tank haha. Keep up the videos man!
Found your channel on accident awesome car especially cuz of a third pedal good job beautiful car. I also think a Z28 Grill would look awesome keep it up
You did such an amazing job building that intake then you just ran the clamps on. PLease rotate them so the threaded ends/nuts are on the backside and kind of hidden. Then when you open the hood that amazing intake is all smooth.
That engine is awesome. Your videos are great and it's nice to see love for the third gen. Hopefully you don't blow your transmission and rear end apart!
Matt, I love your Lsa build. Forgive me if you covered this somewhere in your videos and I missed it but I don’t see a Mass Airflow Sensor. Did you use a speed density tune? And if you did, how is it working?
Thanks, and yea mines sd tuned. I never really touched on that before. I went to sd because once i went to the 102mm intake before the blower, the maf was a restriction.
Thanks for your speedy reply. I’m at the point of a base tune on my Ls1/Lsa swapped HHR and I simply don’t have the room for a MAF in my outrageously crowded engine compartment. I’m glad to hear you are sd tuned.
Just a question but could you do more driving videos? Like ones where you just drive around in your camaro place to place and floor it acasionally so we can get a feel of how fast it is and what it sounds like
Believe me I’m working on it, the car is out for tuning now. Once it’s fully up and running, I’ll be sure to incorporate more driving in upcoming vids.👍
Did you have to change your belt drive I have dirty dingo serpentine truck kit and I hear I cant use that I have a lq9 punched yo a 6.2 in a 86c10 shortbed ans just needing more information on what all I will need I put a 2.4 grip tech pulley on it and going with a zl1 harmonic balancer for now
Nice choice on plugs. I run tr55s (na motor). Went to oreilys and they tried to talk me into buying bosch... and started bashing on my choice to run ngks in my camaro... my car my choice fuckers, laughed and walked out. NGK is in everything from my cars to my mower and weed eater. Great plugs VERY clean install btw.. she is coming together beautifully.
You wanna fix that noise? Easy. Remove the throttle body and radius and round the edges of the iac hole. That’s how I fixed mine. Or you could open the throttle blade a tad more. The iac count is probably pretty high right now and I’d suspect you have idle stability issues.
Trouble Ship get a nice seasoned lt1 block with some high flow heads and forced induction stroke it out low compression you will be spanking damn near everyone. Those old lt1's can spank ls if properly set up
I'm restoring in 83 Z28 with an original Crossfire fuel injection should I do the ls swap or do you think I can modify the crossfire to give it more power
Mychal Verkuilen I know you are not asking me. Yet I am impelled to chime in. If you're doing a factory resto and want to take it to shows go original. IF it is a play car for the weekends and sometimes shows swap it and enjoy it. Whatever choice you make I'm sure it will bring smiles per gallon. That's all that matters.
I’m really not familiar with the stock fuel injection stuff, especially since my car was originally a 2.8. I agree with Mychal Verkuilen, if it doesn’t need to stay original, go for the swap👍
I think it's funny no matter how much work you do to a car it's never done. Even when you think it's done deep down you know it's not so you just keep buying parts and keep hooking it up. I'm finding myself doing that with my car I want this I want that. But does it ever really end?
@@01ZO6TT yeah I'm about to sink another two grand in my 2002 Camaro SS. I want to redo the seats with leather and houndstooth and material. I want to get all new bushings springs and shocks. Then later down the road head swap cam swap new hydraulic lifters new pushrods new valves double valve springs lsxr intake. so it's a good thing I quit drinking and smoking LOL
your car is the awesome car I ever seen I would love for you to send me some pictures I want to make them big poster size and I'll send you a couple if you get this try to get back at me you're awesome you're the best
DANGER READ THIS FIRST! On boosted engines there is a greater danger of hydrolocking due to water condensation buildup on rainy or humid days as well as poorly designed cold air intakes sucking up puddles of water that can build up in the intake area. Adding water methanol injection prior to the intercooler is especially dangerous as the water will condense into drops and puddles instead of staying a mist. Separate injectors for each cylinder at each port is recommended for best and safest results on this type of blower. On a turbo a single injector after the intercooler is OK. On a side note, It's not a true cold air intake unless it's getting the air from outside the engine bay entirely , on many vehicles the factory airbox does a lot better job of delivering more and colder air than a lot of aftermarket CAI's
Awesome, can't wait bro. I just bought myself a 2010 SS Camaro 6 speed manual. I owe that to watching guys like you!
Love the Cold Air Intake work!! Just watch for water puddles, and heavy rain fall.
I forgot to add that I’m going to pickup a prefilter sock, to repel water.

Super clean install the carbon fiber was a great addition to the already pristine engine bay!
Dude that looks awesome, great work. Car looks Hello fast, can't wait to see more of it.
Great video as always LsxMatt.
I've had an 88' IROC sitting in the garage torn down for about 8 years now...I need to start working on it.
So nice! Can't wait to see the dyno pulls
Love this car!!! Baddest 3rd gen ever.

Yea I wanted to hide them, but it was just easier to tighten that way😂. I’ll probably fix them soon.
Very nice bud, you are always setting the bar.
That engine is awesome. Your videos are great and it's nice to see love for the third gen. Hopefully you don't blow your transmission and rear end apart!
Lmfao I’m not worried about the transmission, the rear...yeaa😬
Get Rid of that HIDEOUS RS grille!!! Get a Z28 Grille. The 92 Bowtie one (paint the bowtie to match the body color) would look awesome!! lol
Sounds really good
Awesome video brotha! !
I bet this baby ripps great job budd

Lmfao yea I literally dumped it all out of the ash tray and keep it there now😂

Nice setup! Just curious what did you do for a windshield wiper motor?
Currently don’t have one! I’m working on a solution, I’ll make a video when i figure it out.
@@lsxmatt cool! Thanks for the reply.

If you use a 6 rib setup you can use stock truck accessories. Not sure about the dirty dingo kit though,
@@lsxmatt Matt I'm not a mechanic here but what do you mean by 6 rib setup??

Thanks, I had had 55’s in it before the blower. Just went up to the 6’s because of boooooost.
LsxMatt sweet sweet boost. GL brother , bit jelly :)
Hey, I love ur videos. I am in ny too where do u go 2 get it dynoed around here lol I have a 91 z28 and a couple other cars need to have dyno
I bring it to Tunetime Performance over in Lakewood Nj
my intake makes the same crazy sound i thought something was wrong

I cracked the throttle blade to 2 percent and reset the tps after this video. Noise is pretty much gone👍
LsxMatt good deal. The sharp edges on the iac hole is what causes it
I am building a 91 camaro to be different so I'm doing a lt1 carb swap
Donnie Dowdy Enjoy! Those old lt1's are the shit. The reverse flow cooling kept temps wicked low. Great for boosted applications.
Dranksta yeah
I had an 84 lt1 swapped. Fi. 6spd
I had lots of fun in that car

I had one on my old setup, I need to get a new one.
Hi Matt can you please tell me where you got that nice steering wheel from? Thanks in advance and sorry for beeing off topic
Christian
It came out of a 94 Cavalier. It’s a stock Chevy wheel.
Thanks Matt!
Where's your MAF in this?
I deleted it a while ago, it’s speed density tuned.
Use black clamps.

The box said 10 horsepower...
Nah that’s real carbon fiber, that’s good for at least 107
