    I forgot to mention, after cutting the braided hose, make sure to blow out the inside with compressed air or use some fuel to rinse them out. You don’t want all that crud going straight into your injectors!

      MATT! I love the car soo much that I could not keep my mouth shut. This is not in anyway a complaint... Again, I love the car. However from one third gen owner to another; I have to tell you, the aluminum fuel tubing under your car is extremely UNSAFE! It is not meant to be used as you have it. Anything on the road that you drive near could possibly smash or rip open the tubing. Usually that type of tubing is ran inside of a frame rail or somewhere safe from anything that could hit or damage the aluminum tubing. Please replace all the aluminum with steel or something more appropriate and SAFE. I am sorry for the bad news; but i have seen everything from a small fuel leak starting a gasoline fire to a crash causing a nitro-methane explosion due to people using the same aluminum fuel line and having it get hit by a rock or get ripped apart in an accident.

      Have you swapped in the 222 duration cam in yet? Crane has it with a wide LSA, with a high valve lift, so you may need new valve springs. I have NO idea how much valve lift the OEM Ls can take...

    PTFE is for Ethanol blended fuels as it eats rubber FAST. most fuel will have ethanol blended in even if not labeled as below a certain percentage there is no requirement to do so, except for the premium stuff but read the fine print

    HI Matt. One thing I learned working on my f-body is that the vent valve in the back is just a one way into the tank so that you do not get negative pressure. However, during running your tank can easily pressurized by the hot fuel coming back into the tank. The stock evap system was having a valve which allowed to have up to 5psi pressure in the tank before the evap valve depressurized it into the vacaum side of the engine. Be careful with that, if that small rubber cab is not secured enough on the tank side you end up with fuel spill out all over your cars underside and even hot stuff. I experienced that myself because the previous owner of my car hooked up everything wrongly and I had gas spilling out of the gas cap when the tank was full! Kind regards from Switzerland, Andreas

    • @lsxmatt
      @lsxmatt  6 лет назад

      Thanks for the info! I actually installed a vented gas cap years ago when I first removed the evap, it’s been ok ever since.

    Your a good mechanic bro I wish I knew as much as u. I have a 88 Iroc a 95 z28 and 2018 ss 1le and cant do shit on em both the older don’t pass for emissions

    • @xravenhairsexgod
      @xravenhairsexgod 6 лет назад

      Use brake line flush. Sold at many truck repair shops to rid moisture in the brake lines. Get two pints, one pint in the gas tank if it's half full. Should cut down on emissions, if not use the 2nd pint. Smells like cherries when burnt. May want to Seafoam your engine beforehand for results first. Good luck.

    This is going to be one badass 3rd gen Camaro brother! I am excited for you. Makes me want to go get another Iroc Z-28. Always wanted to Ls /T56 swap the one i had long ago, but i ended up selling it for a 3000GT Vr-4. That was a mistake. Went from dependable Chevrolet to a maintenance needy and expensive to fix Mitsubishi. When it ran it was awesome. Problem was it was down every couple months at a minimum of 300 each time. I figured out the hard way why everyone i had seen with one as a kid wore a suit. Lol. Had to be rich to run it in the late 90's. My Iroc was dependable but the 4 spd auto was boring and it needed more love than i could provide back then. Anyways love the car! Can't wait till it gets on the road after it gets tuned. Should be something to see.

      LsxMatt mine was pretty nice but there was just so much crammed under the hood that it was a bitch to work on with my not tiny japanese man hands. Glad i got a warranty with it because it was forever a pain in my ass. Had a coil go out on me that looked like 10 cents worth of plastic with a copper strip in it that cost me 350.00 and the only place back then with them was japan. Also when you replace one you should do all 3 so that was the first wake up call to the cost of running a Vr-4. At that point in time i was 19 years old and didn't make near the money i do now. Warranty paid for it but I thought about if it wasn't and that would have sucked to shell out a grand on 1 buck worth of copper and plastic. Of all my Chevy's the most i spent on a part ever was like 40 bucks. Lol. Those 3000gt vr4's were amazing cars when everything was working right. There is just so much that can go wrong and if the wrong thing breaks it can go bad real fast. About a week after i got the car back from coils i was cruising down the interstate and all of a sudden a loud knock appeared and half the cylinders weren't firing. Stopped and called roadside from there and back to the dealer we went. Ended up that the same coil took a shit and somehow the crankshaft got twisted and fucked shit up big time. Dealer tried to void warranty but i wasn't playing that and they ended up having to pay for a dodge stealth block at 9,000. Just for the block... then get the shaft and whatever they couldn't use from my engine to build that one. The only good deal about that car was the warranty i bought with it. Thank god for that. I got it back and sold it before it could break again. Out of 6 months i think it was only running for 70 days. Should have just made my Camaro amazing for instead. Would have been cheaper than what the 3000gt ended up costing me that's for sure . It never lost a race though and those 70 good running days were amazing.

    When I did my braided line with AN fittings before I cut the line I would do 2 or 3 wraps of electrical tape around the line. Then cut the line through the tape and leave the tape that way you dont have to worry about the frayed metal braid of the line messing things up trying to install the fittings.

    Couldn’t ya just use like 1.5 inch thick spacer plate an just tapper the opening on the spacer to make your bigger throttle body work. I’m pretty sure that would work fine

    • @lsxmatt
      @lsxmatt  6 лет назад +1

      Probably but the opening is still smaller on the blower, so the air would hit that hard edge. Not sure if it would affect performance without port matching it to the tb.
