Started my 305 today... drove it around the block, now I just finished crying long enough to watch your video. Great work on the car, awesome production quality of the video. I'm going to go back to crying now.
My 89 tpi305 formula with an auto was entertaining for a bit as a 14.2 second car. I built a full race stroker 383 (eagle forged bottom end, JE forged pistons, dart heads etc )and after frying a race built th350 with a 3200rpm stall, I converted the car to a t56 from an LT1 Camaro. It was built to take alot of nitrous but still be brutal NA. If you plan to actually daily the car keep in mind not to over build it. My car is damn fun but if you cant drift you wont be able to keep it on the road. Efi makes it alot easier to drive but if you do a carbed build expect it to be a bit of a bitch on the road. Efi with a manual helps alot with big power in the street.
Hudson well if I do anything more to mine it will be along the lines of Matt but without the sc. A basic stock 5.3 would make me happy enough if I could commute in it occasionally not having to always drive my '15 Sierra Z71. I've never been too into drag racing, but did have a blown 5.9 crewcab Dodge Dakota sleeper that ran a 14.2.
@@snflupigus I fully understand going LS. I was 16 (2000-2001) when I built the stroker 383 and converted it to a t56 . When I did that, my 02 ws6 TransAm (my daily) hadn't even been built yet. When I built the 89 formula everyone on 3rdgen,org told me I'd never be able to get headers big enough for my 383 to fit with the t56. I used a set of hedman headers and didnt have to trim much of the 3 bolt flange or notch much of the bell housing. I used to drag race before I got too sick to work on the car all the time. I did install the headers and catless y-pipe on my 02 in 95 degree heat with the car on jack stands, with staples holding my stomach closed from my ribs to my waist line and later on in the same kind of heat I installed my nitrous kit with blood poisoning. Fear of dieing before you finish a goal is a hell if a motivator. I'm doing a 5.3 swap in my 2000 zr2 s10 with a turbo. It's the L33 aluminum block 5.3. My truck is on torsion bars and the L33 weighs basically the same as the iron block 4.3 that came in it. The turbo is just because I've always had a thing about having excess power. My 87 k5 blazer will likely end up with a 6.0, if not a stroker 383 built from its stock 350, with a bottle for alittle kick. I'd rather have the extra power and not need it than need it and not have it. That TBI350 damn sure ain't cutting it. The L33 woukd be a great choice for a 3rd gen. They came with 799 heads which us the same casting as the 243 heads on the ls6. Find an ls6 intake from a 01-02 ls1 f-body and a set of headers and you'd be cooking ass. Sorry about the long reply.
nice builds. I hope you're feeling better now. Building cars in AZ is a winter sport it can be 120+ in my garage here. My current focus is a '73 914, no idea for engine choice yet but the stock 2.0 and efi might go back in due to rising values of Porsche cars and parts. I just got a 2015 Sierra z71 as a daily, and have what it replaced, an '02 Tacoma. The Camaro just keeps coming in last in terms of budget priority, but watching Matt's videos does all it can to change that order! Baby due in 2 weeks puts a pause on all of it.
@Richard Skipper well, streetable and able to commute in are two different things. 305 has heads cam rockers intake headers wideband ebl etc... I want smooth power modern power, not lopey idle pushed to limit 305. Better to have slightly modded LS for drivability.
Man you busted your ass on this build. A lot of high level stuff. I am a decent tech and freely admit that you are on another level! Great work. This car is freaking nice and really something to be proud of. Looking forward to more videos on the Trans Am. Thanks for all of the detail and all of your hard work bro!
This is one of the two cars inspiring my current 86 builds, I just want to thank you for doing these videos, keeps me pushing on all my 6 third gens and new ones to come.
Hard work paid off, way to represent 3rd gens! I'm still old school with the engine. I have a 406 with a d1sc procharger with a 200 4r trans with the brembo brake conversion front and back and strange 12 bolt rear end and Holley hp efi .Nice build my man! Keep it up, and you are very knowledgeable.
So many bald eagles!!! I love your car , the build, and the outcome this far. I too have a camaro it’s a 89’ I’ve been working on since 05’ same color as yours 5speed. I live in Jersey and hoping one day to get one looking like yours amazing job simply unbelievable lets take care of these classics too.. F-Body and S-Chassis Classics
That is awesome! Nice build. Looks and sounds great. I love how it seems everyone can get all this custom work done and make things work. I cannot get even dealerships to fix standard OEM problems correctly. Fml!
Beautiful Gen 3 Camaro. Makes me want to find one and build it myself. I am a huge fan of Gen 3 Camaro since I was a kid. I used to help my dad fix body work on a z28. One day I will find one and build it myself. Great work!
Honestly didn't expect to see such a clean Camaro example with NY plates on it. Your car is beautiful! LSA swapped cars are showing up in my sub feed because of my interest in the GTO and an LSA combo. lol
Bra I subscribed a month ago bc I bought a 05 z71 'burban. Then I started looking for blower installs for the 5.3 and low and behold. Love the content.
Very Nice. Thanks for sharing. Many years ago Mufflex use to make excellent exh products for fbodys, hopefully still do. They did a 3" y-pipe to 4" I-pipe single out Spintec muffler and Short resonator before the turned down tip right behind the bumper. Fit like they made the car around it and sounded awesome. Not obnoxiously loud like SLP resonators. No drone.
Fkn love it! That car Brings back some good old memories. Couple of my buddies had those cars back in the day. Most of my memories are partying and traveling from Illinois to Kentucky to Nashville Indiana. Pretty much all over the Midwest to concerts shit like that. It’s a good thing Back in the day they only had about as much power as two of your cylinders. We’d be dead
Absolutely love it! Not only was a 3rd gen my 1st car, but also my may favorite Camaro! Sorry, the old '69 is absolutely great but these IROC-Z are so hot. After im finished with my insane C4 Corvette, extreme custom & performance, i am doing one of these next.
I swear if you didn't say it was a lsa 5.3 ls I would think it was a Coyote in her! That 5.3 lsa sounds great, runs great great job man! Thinking about lsa blowing my 06 gto!
Beautiful car. This is what they should of been new. Love that color. I had an IROC when I was in HS (98) that looked close to this. I loved that car. It had an LT-1 and sounded great and had a lot of mods (shaved door handles, sound system with MTX 12”s and the dual white stripes up the hood) but it just kept falling apart, and being 17-18 years old, I didn’t wanna mess with it. Boy I regrets selling it tho. I got around $8000 out of it at the time, and I was going to collage soon.
Awesome I own bought new in 92 ordered it a 92 25Aniversry Z28 medium Quasar Metalic blue with 16 thousand original miles T Tops and grey leather 100 percent stock.I have never seen another 92 Z28 like my car
great video man! Really enjoy the content. The car is a beast! Would love to see some more driving and outside clips of the car driving by. You are lucky to have that beauty. Keep up the great videos
I’m a huge IROC fan and I’m all about opening up sports cars on the highway, but man, trust me, you can’t be launching on those side streets with parked cars. You’re going to take out a kid on a bike coming out between those cars. I don’t care how good you you are, you can’t jump to the brake from gas on a launch in time. Keep promoting the sport and especially those 3rd gens, just please find a safer spot to perform.
And just for the record you are 100% correct on Mustang dynos. I have so many people try to help me about it but you speak the truth just like I've said with many people over the years Mustang dynos are the most accurate they match the track time and mile per hour
3rd gens were never my favorite, but I've seen a few cool ones. This is by far the cleanest and most tastefully done 3rd gen I've ever seen. Honestly congrats dude it's a sick ride.
I know that kits are made for the newer mustangs that essentially run a ~1” tube through the firewall that connects the intake to the cab, but is capped off on the cab end with a thin plastic cap that lets sound through really well, you might check and see if you can find one that works for your application
That's freaking Awesome !!! I like the build , im a fan of 3rd gens , and the supercharger looks good under the hood , not sure that I would want to do a swap like that , but if I did your videos would help .
Nice car man looks and sounds great!! I noticed you were complaining about not enough blower whine, you can mod the intake and run a hose inside the cabin and its supposed to make the whine nearly twice as loud!!
I’d recommend you go with a Strange 12 bolt. They have excellent torque arm set ups for 3rd and 4th gen Camaros, and you can’t beat a 12 bolt for efficiency/drivetrain loss, weight, and durability for most applications.
With Mickey Thompson I ran a 1.93 second 60 foot times in a STOCK tpi 350 1985 Corvette. Street tires are bad on the dragstrip, the dragstrip is more slippery then most people think it is.
Awesome. Sounds like it runs pretty damn good! On the exhaust, I have a really good idea for you that works. I had a 4” mufflex system on my third gen. I necked it down going right into a stock 2002 ss camaro muffler. Left the factory tail pipe coming out the driver side. On the passenger side I made s block off plate and cut the tail pipe off right at the muffler and welded the block off plate on there to cap it off. Then at that 90 degree turn over the axle Going into the muffler, I cut a hole right there in the turn so the exhaust didn’t have to make the turn. I put a 3.5” pipe going to s cutout and then after the cutout I necked it down to fit the factory exhaust tip. Super quiet when cruising. Then nasty when I want it.
As far as Dynos, this difference is true, & one the the biggest reasons some of these very "optimist" results are achieved, & "legally". Any dyno has a beginning conditions in which the test will be performed in. As in, barometric pressure, outside temp, dew point, intake air temp, & elevation, amongst some other things. Changing some of these can easily be the difference of 50 - 75 Horsepower results, and depending on what & how else the dyno tests are programmed for can be even higher. For example: 2 Dyno Standards; S.A.E. / Production Dynos Barometric pressure: 29.6 Intake Air Temperature: 77° Dew Point: 49 Elevation: 0 Racing Dynos / Aftermarket perf Barometric Pressure: 29.92 Intake Air Temperature: 60° Dew Point: 32 Elevation: 0 This is only a quick example to better help understand how some of this is done. Now, either of these examples, & any other variation of these are "legal" & not false advertising. Because these conditions are absolutely possible. This is why an advertisement will say "up to 25 HP" or "up to 100 HP" is possible with this new part. Because it is possible, but in many cases, very unlikely. It is always good to understand what the specific Standards are for whatever Dyno you will have your vehicle tested on. As he said in his video about the Mustang Dyno, there is also a standard in which their Dynos are done. In truth, it having lower results, means they are probably more realistic results. And this is because the "Mustang Standard" is very similar to SAE / Production Dynos. The SAE standards are as such for a few reasons, but simply put, it has alot to do with regulations, restrictions, & emissions. The Racing Dyno Standards are based on more ideal Racing conditions. And so these standards stuck , are typically used. But not always. The SAE, is what the big 3 use, & also any foreign company vehicle that is sold in the U.S. Some of you know that many cars are "de-tuned" to be sold in the U.S. Such as Porsche, Lamborghini, Ferrari, NSX, Skyline, etc. But also how aftermarket companies achieve these high results, & ironically after you've sent thousands, still haven't! At but not least, brings me to the next thing. The big debate about "Real" Dynos, & Computer "Simulation" Dynos. Either's results are subject to "whom" & "what" is put into them. In both the results are subject to accuracy & inaccuracies. Also at some point, they are both a form of computer program. Also contrary to popular belief, these so called simulation programs are what every company uses. The big 3, Honda, Comp Cams, Edelbrock, Blueprint, etc etc etc etc, all use thes to come up with what will most likely work the best in specific applications. Do we think that they physically make all these parts & combinations, & then test them to see which is better? Absolutely not! That would mean millions of wasted $$$. I have 1st hand seen & worked with both types. And the absolute accuracies of some of the simulation programs is amazing. At worst, within some 3-6 % when compared to the "real" dyno, which is also subject to interpretation. While many of the cheaper Sim programs aren't ideal, they are not only helpful, but still closer than most would think. Such as Desk Top Dyno, Dyno Sim, etc. Again the reason they aren't so accurate is that most of the needed info to make them accurate, is way above most of the users heads. So these do educated algorithms & logarithms, & in some areas considerably close, mostly with decent combinations. Now with programs such as Engine Analyzer Pro Enterprise, & then with all the added banches & upgrades, the accuracy is so dead on it floors you. But this program, & the others on this level, not only cost alot of money, but can really take along time to either research & then put in the information, which in itself can take over a week or more. Not including chain calculations, etc. I'm in thousands of $$$ in the Engine Analyzer Pro Enterprise, with many of the added branch extensions, & im no where near finshed. While there is others that are very good, Performance Tends started all this in '86, and the others all followed, such as Dynomation, etc etc, & also this is what most of thise big companies use, so it is well used & known. And the accuracy is unreal everytime i run against a "real" dyno. Unfortunately this is not for everybody, the cost for the one time weekend warrior builder doesn't work out to well, & then the absolute level of input that is needed, & the level of understanding that is needed. So it is also time consuming. But for those of you who really do this regularly, i highly recommend it.

Dude not only does she Sound great, She looks great as well. Awesome build 🤙🤙🤙
LSA for the win! You killed it brother beautiful build with impressive #'s
Sticking at the 600 rwhp should make it live longer especially if it has Gen 3 internals. Nice results!!! 👍
I love it but not true any well rounded ls man knows he hasnt even reach what that 5.3 will hold even if its on stock bottom end
Thay 5.3 can go about 800hp with no problems that's if your not always romping on it every single day with out changing the oil all the time
This is one of the two cars inspiring my current 86 builds, I just want to thank you for doing these videos, keeps me pushing on all my 6 third gens and new ones to come.
I was never into older camaros but man that shit is CLEEEAANN AF bro
Totally nailed the stance, wheels, backspacing.

The 3rd generation camaro is the best looking and you gave it the muscles that they couldn't back in the 90's! Hell muddyfunkin yeah! Clean whip!
Love the build Matt, great job and engine sounds mean as hell.
I love this car, and the workmanship you've done. It's perfect!

My father would love this camaro. He had an 82 and 88. Though his had the weak 305 in it.
My 91 was 305 also😕
That's the sickest 90s style camaro I've ever seen I swear. It's freaking gorgeous and fast. I've never wanted one until seeing this one
This car is perfect in my opinion. My first camaro was a '91 RS. Seriously love the way the car looks, runs, and sounds. Good work man.
Wow just wow the rear badging lsx (bowtie) so sick as well as the entire car deffinatley a neck breaker awsome ride
Sick!!! Great build and keep up the good work! You have one of the best builds for that body style I've seen! 👌👍
I have a 91 rs in the garage collecting dust. You got me wanting to dust it off.
looks like you don't need it or want it,let me know were to pick it up
Beautiful Gen 3 Camaro. Makes me want to find one and build it myself. I am a huge fan of Gen 3 Camaro since I was a kid. I used to help my dad fix body work on a z28. One day I will find one and build it myself. Great work!
The best part is who clean it is great job Matt
One of my favorite cars. I love that color man. And the sound...🤗🤗🤗
Keep up the great work.
Honestly didn't expect to see such a clean Camaro example with NY plates on it. Your car is beautiful! LSA swapped cars are showing up in my sub feed because of my interest in the GTO and an LSA combo. lol
omg that's clean. Obviously one of the best builds out there
Goddamn how badass would've been to sport outside senior year in 92 with this sitting in parking lot waiting, such a sweet ride you've built my man!
Dude that sounds sweet, good to see all the hard work, pay off for you. Just watch out fo the deer on the road.
SUCH A BEAUTIFUL CAR !!!! I’m over here rock hard staring at this camaro
Very enjoyable, and beautiful car / build. Thanks for taking us along, and explaining the details, while Giving something to aspire too.
Mustang guy here but love this thing. My favorite wheels for this generation as well.
Wow i just rewatched the video and i noticed it has a cage in it. Which ads to the awesome appeal of the car. Best 3rd gen on RUclips.
That blower wine is soo bad ass.
That car is a dream..
Wow, you built the Beast of the 3rd gen. Enjoy it. I wish I could do something like that. Good job.
i am doing it,why cant you.learn to plan, save, work hard and be patient and learn.i hate paying people to do things on my car that i can do myself
no place to work on my car, saving up to get a house with a garage.
Bra I subscribed a month ago bc I bought a 05 z71 'burban. Then I started looking for blower installs for the 5.3 and low and behold. Love the content.
That exhaust sounds amazing.. I see this is an older video but holy BLEEP that's a sweet car!
Magnificent work man. Lovely machine 👌
This car is beautiful , love the corvette wheel. Take good care of this machine
Absolutely bad ass Z28 nice job dude you did that thing just right the C5 rims look very clean good choices ...
Very Nice. Thanks for sharing. Many years ago Mufflex use to make excellent exh products for fbodys, hopefully still do. Nice. This is the setup GM should have installed originally back in the 90's!
That car is freakin beautiful!! Excellent work!!
Sweet ride ! Looks fantastic, sounds killer. Nice job ! Love the fact that it's a stick car too.
Respect to the build. Solid car
My fav year of Camaro body styles, such a really nice car!
I've just got three letters for you: WOW! I've been enjoying your journey with the LSX. I love 3rd gen the most as I've said before in the comments.
I swear if you didn't say it was a lsa 5.3 ls I would think it was a Coyote in her! That 5.3 lsa sounds great, runs great great job man! Thinking about lsa blowing my 06 gto!
This is AWESOME! Congrats Matt! EXCELLENT job!
Bad ass Camaro . Always liked that year and body style ! You did a great job and the motor winds out very strong ! Just be careful !!!!!
Looks even better in person, we chatted for a few back at Atco in October! Hope to see you again next season!
Congrats! It’s been a long road but looks like all of the hard work has definitely paid off.
An amazing 3rd gen! You built the car I wanted my 90 RS to be.
Mahk would say "Your problem is, it's a Chevy. " lol
Sharp lookin'
Never seen your car/videos until now. Man, that Camaro is Bad Ass! Enjoy it brother

Beautiful solid build. Love it.
That's freaking Awesome !!! I like the build , im a fan of 3rd gens , and the supercharger looks good under the hood , not sure that I would want to do a swap like that , but if I did your videos would help .
god damn that's beautiful. should've never sold my 91 1LE
Man you did your thing on this car.
Love that whine
beautiful car man! super clean looking and all.
Wows, very nice bro, badass camaro. Great job my friend, love it.
So clean. Been keeping up with the build. Hopefully you get some track times.
Awesome build man! Nice job
Good job on building your monster of a car
Sweet looking Z28!
Nice car man looks and sounds great!! I noticed you were complaining about not enough blower whine, you can mod the intake and run a hose inside the cabin and its supposed to make the whine nearly twice as loud!!
Beautiful car! Excellent all around!
Please paint the back face of the cowl hood black, or better yet cut it out and use wire mesh.
I’d recommend you go with a Strange 12 bolt. They have excellent torque arm set ups for 3rd and 4th gen Camaros, and you can’t beat a 12 bolt for efficiency/drivetrain loss, weight, and durability for most applications.
That's one sexy 3rd gen I dont like blue but man that car looks very nice good job
With Mickey Thompson I ran a 1.93 second 60 foot times in a STOCK tpi 350 1985 Corvette. Street tires are bad on the dragstrip, the dragstrip is more slippery then most people think it is.
Always liked a 3rd gen after seeing this I'm a fan!
Super sweet ride love the color
That’s what I was thinking of doing. Just maybe using a quiet flowmaster on one side, then the cut out on the other.
LsxMatt not sure there’s a such thing as a quiet flow master. A walker quiet flow or a hooker max flow would be better choices.
For example: 2 Dyno Standards;
S.A.E. / Production Dynos
Barometric pressure: 29.6
Intake Air Temperature: 77°
Dew Point: 49
Elevation: 0
Racing Dynos / Aftermarket perf
Barometric Pressure: 29.92
Intake Air Temperature: 60°
Dew Point: 32
Elevation: 0
This is only a quick example to better help understand how some of this is done.
Now with programs such as
Engine Analyzer Pro Enterprise, & then with all the added banches & upgrades, the accuracy is so dead on it floors you.
Absolute beautiful camaro!
Definitely the nicest Camaro I've seen and it is my favorite color I'm a Chevy Man all day and Camaro is my favorite car love this video!
