    I have these irons that replaced my Apex 21 DCBs & the distance & tight dispersion is amazing. I’m a slower swing after strokes & unbalanced with partial sight but HCP 18-20 - had 4 birdies & a near eagle today in rain & wind - just love the sound, look & feel - 5i is easy to hit & goes miles (170-180 for me) - 100% agree on the tempo. Bear irons I’ve ever had.

    I decided to go with the PXG Gen5 0311P. Not quite as strongly lofted but they have forged face and body, much thinner and more appealing profile than my Taylormade Stealth irons and what these seem to offer. Add in that the Gen5's are now on sale since PXG just released their Gen6 models and you've got a great formula for success!

    Andy, from usa; 6 Gen 5 pxg x6=$894. Add 2 wedges from them, total is $1172 for all forged clubs. You can always add the wedges later; don’t think $894 is steep for 6 quality forged irons & have choice of T, P or XP…

    Andy has been my Club and bag set up for years, call him the club Guru. From dropping the 4 iron and add a 7 wood drop the 3 wood go to a 5 wood added a Ping Chipr and have been saving shots ever since. I tested so many irons this year and have ordered the new Callaway Paradym. I hit them so well, my fitter and I liked everything about the Paradym. The Paradym X. The Xs are still fantastic clubs. the final 4 clubs TM Stealth the Ping 430 and both Paradym's

    I have had these a month. Never had irons that felt like this. Fantastic feel with Hzrdus graphite shafts. More accurate than my old Rogue X irons with steel shaft. If you are on the ropes, my advice is buy them.

    Great review as always Andy, thanks much!
    Now looks aside, how did the Paradym X perform compared to the Stealth HD irons you were so impressed by earlier this year?
    I’ve had the stealth HD irons on the top of my list but would love to see a head to head with the Paradyms’s if you feel up to it.
    May be a fun and engaging series of videos where you crown thus years best SGI irons in your opinion and then every year you test the new contenders against the reigning champ to see who takes top spot? Just a thought. Cheers.

      I played the stealth hd irons all season as a new golfer. Went and got a proper fitting and I got fitted for the regular paradym irons and I averaged 20 yards more carry with the paradym. Hard to believe but true. Needless to say I gave the HD’s to my son and I bought the paradym’s

    Yup got Titliest T400, doing what the Paradigm X does but brought out 2 years ago …Calloway a bit behind the times. Problem is better golfers don’t like the help these clubs give higher handicappers. Not sure why better golfers don’t use them but that’s their issue.

    Having played the pxg 0211 irons for a couple of years I would never go back to a super game-improvement iron. I get all the forgiveness I want with a top line that is reasonable. And basically no offset.

  • @Murf1802
    @Murf1802 Год назад +1

    Thank you for review, not bad, a little heavy on the offset but not to bulkey, but the over all look is very sharp looking, I've tested many many differnt golf companies like yourself, I believe that callaways equipment doesn't stand up to a beating , the faces seem to get banged up and scratched very easily compared to other big companies , that said I game the Apex TCB forged and they seem to be holding up , not sure maybe the more expensive line has better material, watch out for the chrome finish,

    • @tezzlacoilz

      This. Callaway chrome finish looks amazing in the wrapper. One day of use later it shows marks immediately. A few weeks later and they look a season old. This was on a set of Mavrik GI for my old man. I then got him a set of rogue st pro and those have held their finish way way better. But my Srixon zx7s look almost the same as when I bought them after a year+ of use.

I haven’t seen many reviews in these, but I’m hoping they help! They aren’t as expensive as some of the other game improvement clubs. $699 for a combo set…4H, 5H, 6i-pw.😊

      Great session at my local golf shop today.
      Good news - I still have adequate swing speed for steel regular shafts! I ended up ordering the TM Stealth (not HD) irons over Mizuno JPX HM & HL, Ping G430, T300 and Paradym. The Callaway's did perform well, but priced too much $$$ over the Stealth irons. Pleasantly surprised, and can't wait to get the TM's on the course.

    These are nice. However the price for an iron set that people are led to believe they will grow out of is a definite issue.
    Accepting what makes you confident, rather than what looks good to your mates is the biggest factor for SGI. I'm 38, fit and relatively athletic. I've played Wishon 560MC and PXG 0211 Gen 2 as my last two irons sets. Moving to Wilson LaunchPad 2 this year. Accepting I don't have the time to commit to practice means I accept having a bag full of chunky funky bad boys. If the game becomes more fun, and I laugh more with my mates then I am definitely winning!

    Taylormade stealth irons are a much better-looking club and cheaper. But ppl will buy the Callaways just for bragging rights of the cost...same as too many players use " lower handicap" clubs and would be better off using forgiving clubs, why make the game hard for yourself or think that spending a 1k plus on irons will buy you a lower handicap

  • @waynedouglas256
    @waynedouglas256 Год назад

    Remind me of the old callaway x14/16/18s ..very over rated and priced...at least with the old x14 etc you got 3i to sandwedge ..most makes are 5/6 to wedge these days but it isn't reflected in the price. I get that R&D goes into a driver to part dictate the price ( still over priced) but now you are getting smaller sets of irons and its not reflected in the price...don't get me started on the price of putters 300-400!!!! For a CNC milled head with a shaft 😮 the only golf merchandise that is getting cheaper is clothing

I’ve tried these are they feel absolutely nothing like a forged iron and like the P790’s with filling the head with foam to dull the sound isn’t fooling anyone. These felt very hard off the face as pretty much all hollow bodied irons do to different degrees. I’ll stick with my 921 forged

I thought for sure you were talking about the Zx4 irons until I saw that little “V” on the grip. Obviously my opinions are my own but callaway haven’t made a good iron since the CF16s.
