It doesn't help when these big brands are bringing out new Drivers every year, promising all these things like more distance, less spin, more forgiveness. But when Matt and the rest test them out there's very little difference from the previous years model

@@Mattfryergolf not long ago you could buy a brand new 1000cc motorcycle for 10k,now they're upwards of 20,same with cars, or anything else.
Thing is, there's cheaper options for people that can't afford it or simply don't want to pay that much, but it's cool this stuff is out there for people that don't mind paying for it, that's why you have Ford focus,Mercedes and rolls Royce, to each their own,one could say Bugatti asking 4M for a car is absolutely mental, but they do and people pay extra to get allocations for them. I don't see a big difference with other manufacturers to be honest, are mizuno, taylormade or titleist iron options cheaper?

Not sure if this would be possible or well received, but here is a suggestion. I would love to see you and Andy Carter play 18 holes, each selecting a manufacturers model bag for the first nine, and then switching to play the back nine. For example, you play the Paradym clubs for the front and Andy play the Stealth 2 clubs. Then, you play the Stealth 2 clubs and Andy play the Paradym clubs for the back. Then, you could really talk about the advantages and disadvantages of each. You could do this for a number of sessions. Play a Wilson model vs Srixon, or G430 vs Aerojet, or whatever. Of course, the clubs would have to be fit for you, I wouldn't want you to have to play any club fitted for Andy! LOL! Maybe you could take your own fitted clubs and exchange them at the clubhouse after nine. Just a thought. Something I think would be pretty cool to watch.

Informative video your and level par round was most impressive considering the severe winter conditions. Well done! What was equally impressive was the performance of the Callaway Paradym clubs. Wow! Currently I play a set of Callaway forged cavity back irons that I've sworn to play until the faces are worn smoothly. But I think that you have convinced me to consider testing the Paradym irons and driver on the launch monitor and see what my numbers are with them. Thanks

I just got fitted for the Paradym X iron set. I'm 6'2 with a half inch extension needed. I tried regular paradyms and was consistently hitting a 7 iron between 180-190, Ping G430s at 180 consistently, the new Cobras at 180 consistently, and was hitting the Paradym X at 220-230 all day long! I was astonished at the yardage difference but it was legit. They felt better, sounded cleaner every hit, and there was a clear difference as to how much straighter I hit them compared to the other clubs. Yes they are pricey, but if you can afford them, they are worth trying out. I also used my 10 best shots for each brand to get a good, consistent, comparison. Hope that helps anyone looking into a new set!

I finally decided to start replacing some of my beginner set of clubs .. which I’ve had for years. For now .. I’ve kept my original (irons, wedges).. but got fitted to replace my (driver, 3 wood, 4 & 5 Hybrid, Putter) with the new Standard Paradym (Driver, Heavenwood, 5 Hybrid, Odyssey Putter). The Paradym Heavenwood replaced my 3 wood/4 Hybrid clubs .. and I absolutely love it !!! I’m hitting 15-20yrds. further with each of the new clubs and am much more accurate/consistent at lowering my score with the new putter. Very happy 😊⛳️

20 handicapper here, I use my Wilson D7 3 wood off the deck for shot 2 a lot and find it to be a great club, the 5 wood and 4 hybrid again in D7 guise also suit my second shot a lot so wouldn't dream of taking any of them out of the bag as they all suit my game depending on distance left in. Just thought I'd comment after the question at 7mins.

I did a fitting for irons this month after using my pre owned 25 year old clubs for 10 years. Tried all the irons from mizuno to Taylor. I really had no idea which one I had in my hand. Just went in and hit them all. In the end there were two that really felt great and soft when hitting. It was the Taylor rogue (not stealth, hated that one) and these callaways. I could have definitely lived with the rogues. But the callaways gave me about 20 meters on the 7 (167m) in between them. Price diff was about 500. Totally worth it as I can loose power as I’m getting older and still get the distance. I love these things and I know I can grow old with them for years

18 handicap. I upgraded my Ping G410 Driver to the Paradym X and just wow. I have a tendency to slice, but the forgiveness on the Paradym X keeps my miss-hits safe. I was hitting my Ping G410 210-250 yds, I’m hitting the Paradym X 250-300 yds (my first 290 and 300 yd drives today, 2 weeks of ownership). The feel on this driver is unreal. And the sound is crisp and tight. For me it’s been worth the cost, a massive upgrade.

It felt like you pured it. I'm a big fan. But they were $1200 for just 5-PW. Needless to say I'm gonna go try and bend these irons flat 2° instead lol.

Matt, trying all the new drivers over the next couple of weeks. I hit the Triple Diamond today. I play the Epic Flash Sub Zero currently. I got fit into the 8 degree turned up to 9. With my driver I was mid to upper 240 yards with 270 roll out. With the TD I hit 7 out of 10 drives over 270 carry, all of them playable and 8 of them in the fairway. Unfortunately, the best of my drives were with the Graphite Design IZ 60x (more money). The Kai'li (60x) was good with carry in the mid 260s. On to the Taylor Made on the 9th and Ping on the 18th. Mizuno should be shortly after.

I've tried the Paradym and it was my favorite between the Ping G430 and Stealth2 drivers. Nice steady golf. I like the way you don't over-complicate things. Oh and some nice shiny but rediculously priced new clubs. I tested the Paradigm along with the G430 lst Ping and the Stealth 2. Between them all was approx 1 yard and my old Ping 425lst was actually more consistent. Same with new irons and my current i210s. The benefit of changing would seem to confined to giving my local retailer another £1500. I will stick with what I currently play as the benefits are marginal at best. Still, I enjoyed watching you play some nice golf.

Oh Matt! Every day new clubs.... How can you stay confident with your owns? Why that daily change? You are such a good player who knows what important is to score good cards. I hope you will stay consequent with your new Mizuno driver! By the way, i saw Sir Nick with a red ventus shaft too..... So you can say Sir Nick and "not Sir" Matt are players in the same league....
Stay with your irons also and do not change every round! I for myself use old bladed honma irons since more than 25 years and the 7 iron for example nearly has s black hole in the sweetspot. I'm looking for a new set, maybe Mizuno 221/223/fli hi blended or Miura blades but I can't decide what to do.... That's the same problem only opposite - i can not give up my old and others like you or Peter Finch take new clubs again and again. Both isn't the best for the game.
I hope to see you again deep in the reds! Maybe in Prestwick with Andy?

Get the very best of what you can afford and enjoy them. I paid £125 for my ping irons and a lot more for my shiny new Apex 21’s, go figure 😂

I’d be interested in the driver and maybe 3w, but not the irons. Perfectly happy with my putter.
Not a fan of tech in irons- I like consistency and precision, though, honestly some days I do question that…
The feel of a nice forged blade or slender CB isn’t something I want to trade. I’d rather work on my swing and strike consistency

I tested the Paradym during a recent fitting but really struggled with the standard, strangely the club head felt massive when swinging and similarly was hooking it consistently. Gamed a Cobra Speedzone last few years but got the Ping G430 Max now, the forgiveness is off the scale and i like to hit fairways more than chasing distance.

@domatnyc 3-4 shots lower. Do note, was my first time getting a fitting. They replaced my starter set of Stix first generation clubs. Gained distance with most all of them. Also, because of the lie on the Stix irons, I was pulling them to the left a lot.

I would never pay that much for clubs. Being a pensioner, I wait until the new clubs come out and then I look for bargains from last years models. I managed to get the Cobra King Radspeed Driver and 3 wood with Fujikura Motore XF3 shafts for AUD 654 (366 pounds) here in Australia.

He says to the Rep he can't believe these $500 dollar driver prices. The Rep just laughed. He said that if people are crazy enough to buy it, they'll keep charging it. I'll keep buying 2-3 yr old used....screw that guy.
