A Day in the Life of Vintage Classic Specialist, Episode 230, the '69 EV is back for finishing up!

We started off the day with about a 5 or 6 mile test drive of the Bahama Blie '64 beetle. After that we straightened the steering wheel and adjusted the rear suspension again- it settled more! We also move most of the cars around, and swapped the 69 Cal Look for the 69 EV. The Cal Look is going to get its stereo, headliner, and ragtop next door, and the EV is back with us now to finish off!

Looks like a lot of serious thought has gone into the EV - the strengthening features, etc, look impressive. I do like the finish on the Fuchs. The car itself is also in a wonderful colour!

Putting my opinions of EV’s aside, the engineering that went into that car is remarkable. There is definitely some separation anxiety between you and the 64 bug. Trust me, I’ve been there. Great work, thanks. Rick….. 🌴

Thanks Rick. Yeah, it's not for everyone, myself included, but we tried to make it every bit as nice as a full restoration with a correct motor.

The fact that you have an EV bug in your shop just demonstrates the diversity of the shop and the ability of those that work within. I like the EV bug because it’s unique and yea, I’ll bet it is fast! 👍🏻 what’s up with the buggy?
