Hello, the video is very detailed at the end which people love and I am grateful for these connections. I am looking for something similar for my oval. But please, please leave the music out when you add details. I know with time-lapses, for example, it is sometimes not possible without music, but please no music when the tools are turning. The video would have deserved more views. Greetings, Mark

I know it's been 2 years for you, but I am so glad to see Kona at your home where she should be.
🙏🏼🙏🏼
Hi Mic & Lori, finally a new epsode, glad to see Kona at home and receiving updates, fantastic journey.
@@demazejr thank you so much! 😎🙏🏼
SOOOO MUCH OF A CLEANER LOOK! Thank you for the video! I've missed you, Lori, and Kona!
😊👍🏼👍🏼 thanks! Yeah love new setup!
Finally I've watched this video all the way! Great communication without caption to the deaf community in RUclips!! We thank you for that!! Kona is beautiful and match in Hawaii.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you! Do you mean 'with' captions? Because there are captions for everyone in every language :)
It is a joyful thing that after all this effort, fatigue and being away from home and family to work on renovating Kona, you have returned home with it. I am very happy, especially that I have been with you since the first episode until now, and I have been following you with great passion. The result was amazing, and the bus is very beautiful. I ask God to protect you and keep harm away from you always and forever. 🙏🙏❤❤
awe thank you so much! More videos to come with Kona! Stay tuned!
@@MicBergsma Happy New Year to you and Lori and your family
Good to see you back and working on the bus - it's been a long wait. I admire your attention to detail and how carefully you work.
Thank you so much and it definitely has been a long time coming! More videos with Kona coming soon, stay tuned!
Fire ants! That’s the living in Texas knowledge there! Your bus looks awesome Mic. Really happy for you to finally have it in Hawaii and able to enjoy it after the long journey you’ve had building it. Thank you for all the knowledge that you have shared with us, not only from what Robert and his crew did, but all the cool stuff you’ve got from your sponsors!
Thank you ! Happy to share all I learned along the way for others!
Amazing work as always!!! The modification turned out great, it's a shame about the last fuel request, but that's the wonderful thing about this, solving problems 💪🏻 Big hug from Argentina!!!
Ah yes learning as I go! Aloha from Hawaii!
thanks for all the uploads over the past 18 months , finally home and done , massive congrats , enjoy ....peace and love

Hi Mig, it's great to see your videos back. They make me feel so good. You and Lori make my day. The engine on your bus should be zipped shut, you've taken it out so many times. A big hug to the couple.
Thanks so much👍🏼😊
19:53 It was at this moment he knew he @@@@ up. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Nice seeing Kona on the road Mic it has been a journey with ups and downs
This fuel system is fantastic! I’ve never seen this before. Very clean and very worthwhile, I’m sure. The Swedes got it goin’ on!
Don’t forget clean the muffler! Hahahaha
Definitely an aircraft-worthy setup! I'm a retired Mechanical Engineer and a long-time Hotrodder. I know how much work goes into making a custom system!
I am happy and glad that Kona has arrived home. For me, I would do 2 more upgrades 1) put a turbo and 2) air conditioning
Happy days the bus is home. And a job well done on the engine 👍
Thanks 👍
I just finally finished watching this whole build. Stumbled across this looking for squareback videos. I am in that body shop phase with mine currently. My cousin lost substantial amount of his hearing from meningitis as a baby, if you say 5% he might have 12%. I definitely felt your pains and joys as you built a sweet ass bus. Congratulations. I also am a ruckus OG. 😂
Thank you! And glad to have you on the crazy journey with us. More Kona videos are coming! I'm sure you know my other channel then ? 'Mitch's Scooter Stuff' ? :) Good luck with your project!
@MicBergsma thanks for the luck inspiration and few things I may have over looked before paint I can still fix before. I'll have to check out that scooter stuff but oddly the van brought me to not a elite 80 swap or something 🤣
it was so nice to hear that familiar theme song on a new Kona video. have followed from the begining. Have followed since the ledude burgman 650 videos as I own a 2014 burgman executive and you were a bit of an influence on that purchase.
So cool to hear that! And happy to have you on the journey with me since then! I love my Burgman! Have you checked out my other channel 'Mitch's Scooter Stuff' ?
41:48 I love the look of this style of EFI! Looks just like the dual carbs I have (and I’m sure they perform WAY better!)
Yeah! They are super nice!!
Like many others watching your great videos , we are restoring a 21 window also, and we want to thank you both for so much valuable information and entertainment as well. Thank you and fair winds, following seas!
That’s awesome hope your restoration is going well! Happy to help out!
Have been waiting patiently for another Kona instalment🧘 1 hour 21 minutes of bus heaven. Wow that gas leak at the end got me frustrated too!! 😅
Thanks Mic & Lori for all your super hard work ❤🤙
More Kona videos coming soon!
Congratulations for Kona made it arrived home safely. Impressive fuel line connection... As neat
Whew! Thank you!
seeing kona on hawaii's road... it is a breathtaking view!
Yeah!! Soon Kona will be done and get back on road again, will film driving for next episode!
Awesome Restoration.
Thanks so much!
Nice to see you two reunited with Kona at home finally 👍🏻 Good call on the fuel lines Mic. CU again soon 😁👋🏻
Thanks!! Yeah peace of mind! 💆🏼♂️😊👍🏼👍🏼
Hi I'm deaf and I'm from Spain. so honestly how incredible it is that you learn a lot about motors it's not easy it's very difficult The truth is that I love you I see you on RUclips. I'm a fan An enthusiastic person Kona that's a car it can travel the world. I love you Micbergsma hahaha.🚐🌄🌅🎡🎢🗺
Honestly, old VW engines are not tough to work on. Im in advertising for a living at a shop & would have no idea how to work on an engine from a newer vehicle but my old bus motor is pretty simple. These vehicles were made for everyday people. ✌️
Hola! Thank you! VW aircooled engine is not that difficult compared to modern car engines 😄👍🏼👍🏼 thanks for the comment
Awesome Awesome video! WOW, I really enjoyed every minute of it!
Glad you enjoyed it!😊❤️
AWESOME KONA, THANK YOU, VERY EDUCATIONAL. LOVE FROM UK.
Thank you!

I feel like it’s been so long brau !! So glad you, Lori & Kona are finally home what a great long video sorry about the leak but an awesome fuel set up for sure !!
Thank you so much! Yeah easy leak to fix … these plumbing are new to me, always learn something new everyday 😅👍🏼
Wow! So nice to see your bus home 😊. Really nice upgrades on the fuel system and wiring. The fuel system is really interesting - my bus and bug could use this as the stock line does not do well with our gas we have now. Thank You for the great video! 👍
Congratulations guys, you both worked do hard. Enjoy and keep KONA safe, GOD BLESS ❤
Thank you! Will do!
I've watched the bus transform.. great job
@@brianscott9861 thank you Brian!
It's great to see Kona home with you and Lori!
@@spedybrent thank you Brent!
Hey Mic
How about more videos of your beautiful baby??? Would love to see you moving around in your van…❤
We are working on it! :) stay tuned
Loved the video, Mic! I'm not sure if the manufacturer said anything about using something on the threads to seal them up, but I would *highly* suggest doing so! A friend of mine rebuilt a bug back in the mid 90's. On it's maiden voyage he had a fuel leak which caught the engine on fire and the car was a total loss. You don't want to mess around with fuel leaks!! Either way, glad you found it now rather than when you were driving. Happy wrenching man!
Every time I watch your videos I get new ideas for my June Bug.
My wife says, “Don’t tell me. Another Kona video”. LOL !!!
Hahaha that’s funny!
Hi brother yo I happy to seeing you again this so amazing I love it Kona Hawaii is awesome best place beautiful ❤🌸🤙👌🤟❤
Just more new things to go wrong. If it is not broke leave it alone.
@@robertlemoi7919 I am changing few things because I learned rubber hose is not safe and I prefer to do upgrades now before we drive the bus a lot without worrying

Awesome..... Welcome back guys, missed you both!❤
Hello Mic, i am happy with you to have Kona back at home now after this long trip and project time. I was see all Videos and enjoy every of it. Partly it was and still is also a motivation and direction what i can do at my project VW Bus T1. Because i do all on my own, it would take sure more time than your project. I still stuck in panel work.
What i just want to recommand to you, that you do not forget cavity preservation. I did not see it in the videos and guess it generally makes sense, but for sure with the salty air in Hawaii it definitely will, after this hard work. I think you never want to see rust again on your bus. Think about!
Best wishes to you and Lori, EllJott
Oh yes, we went above and beyond for protection against conditions here in Hawaii..maybe you just missed it in the episodes :) Good luck on your project!
Hello Mic, Thank you for the answer. Seems i missed the Episode with waxing. Anyway, good luck for all. Happy new year! Wishes EllJott

Hola! 😎
Great stuff mate, glad to see it got there without issues, and good work on the AN fittings way better than those other cheapy ones. Oh did you know there's no need to cut the old zip ties off? You just squeeze the sides with some pliers and they come apart and can be reused ;) Oh check your clutch cable end looks like the wing nut is about to fall off?
Hi Nick.He dous very nice work I`ve beenfollowing Mich from te star with Kona the bus we started teh restoration from our VW a he same time,Bt he is done, I have still a lot of work to do before I drive the VW T SCGreetings from Hubertus.,

Boy, the locals would love those scooters.
Planning to fix them up then sell them to locals 😁 Too much junk Chinese scooters here 🥴
Man it’s been a while since we had a Kona video, and come on Mic as a guy I knew you were gonna wash the bus once you got it home, the bird poop was just the added excuse you needed. Watch another guy on here and he swears by the nutserts that you added. Sorry that the fuel line gave you an issue, and I was thinking you were letting a touch of OCD get to you but after everything was said and done it did look 100% neater. Well hopefully you get it all squared away.

Lega rasanya kalau tidak ada kebocoran, waw kerja bagus kak..
Mitch, For the rear taillights you might improvise a neat plastic cover over the wiring and connectors by using some plastic leftover food storage containers aka tupperware ? Paint the inside surfaces of containers, not outsides, with your aqua paint so they'll conceal everything and have a perfect smooth finish. Mount them with velcro, or magnets perhaps, another option is cutaway center of lid to provide a snap in place connection ? Don't feel bad about the fuel leak, there's always bound to be a few ! At least you had foresight to add the T3 access hatch to improve access ! PS did you replace that heater box nut that was missing ? You said later, but didn't show that as fixed, just checking he he.. Happy Kona's home with you two !
Awesome, little more episodes 🤠👍
More to come!
Heart breaking game 7. Hopefully this year the Oilers will get another chance!
@@spedybrent yeah for sure!
I know you want it to end, But I don’t………inspiring work, Thank you!
haha I'm so ready to just drive and enjoy it! More Kona videos to come, don't worry! :)
About time lol been waiting for the next bus video
Yeah been too long 😅💆🏼♂️ next one won’t be too long
When installing riv-nuts the hole drilled should be a tight fit. Those ridges need to bite the metal for when loosening a stubborn bolt later on.
Nice work man
Appreciate it
Seeing all of them AN fitings is scary they can cause a fire hazard normally the less of them the better wish you the best of luck

Some two years ago and some in 2023 and till a month ago 😅 right now all caught up to this date finally
That centipede bug it's poison
Fancy plumbing!
Thanks Bart 😅👍🏼
Didn’t see it but you got the loose /missing nuts on the exhaust? Serrated flange nuts can stop that. Looking and running so sweeeeeeet!
🤓nice work 🤔 good luck next 😥
Great 👍 work, Kona home 🏡, please 🙏 get a nicer ladder to wash the roof of Kona.🤗

Yeah 😂💆🏼♂️
Put some half nuts on the exhaust on top of the nuts already fitted and tighten them together. Never come loose again plus protects the exposed threads other wise it will come loose again with vibration.

Pretty sweet set up. I’m a little ocd too but not that bad. The thing I hate is drilling holes in my bus. I try to avoid it all cost. One thing I noticed is that rubber sleeve over fuel pump. What’s that for? Vibration? You have two rubber coatings on the straps. You don’t need a rubber sleeve over entire pump. Overkill. Also what are all those things anyways? Do you have two fuel filters? One is plenty. I think that Holley part is a filter and the big thing is a pump so what’s the other thing? Another filter? If so remove. The less fittings and joints the better. Less chances for leaks. Good job though.
just caught your video on YT and i love VWs.beautiful job with Kona.where do you live on Maui cause i'm from there.
Zut ! Une fuite....
À bientôt et merci pour votre vidéo

Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas- when will we get Ep83 in our stocking ? 🎄 🤙🏻☀️❤️
Bus looks great! How come you use Teflon tape on certain fittings ? But all fittings that have fuel running thru them should have it on there? Your gonna have leaks...They make an fitting wrenches. You keep using a steel crescent wrench on those its gonna round off those corners eventually. Cause there aluminum and your wrench is steel.
What's next to redo? Install one of those hose's that full of argon gas fire system on the bottom of your removable hatch over the top of you motor ! What size is your motor ?
blazecut ;)
YES
