Excellent defense by Petrosian. In classical games Garry Kasparov tied Tigran Vartanovich Petrosian 2 to 2, with 1 draw, but notably Kasparov never played black against Petrosian! Petrosian's draw and two wins were all made playing the black pieces.
One can go out, search youtube and find numerous examples where Najdorf lost playing Najdorf variation with black pieces. If you invented some variation, it doesn't mean you now are going to win everything with that line.
"Some consider that when I play I am excessively cautious, but it seems to me that the question may be a different one. I try to avoid chance. Those who rely on chance should play cards or roulette. Chess is something quite different." - Tigran Petrosian.
Petrosian was born and grew up in Tbilisi, Georgia. He came from a very poor Armenian family. My paternal grandmother was also from Tbilisi. She gave Petrosian private lessons of Russian to improve his Russian. Petrosian's dad Vardan and my great grandpa were friends. My great grandpa Samvel was a photographer, Vardan was a janitor at a local Armenian school. My dad says that in 1963, when Petrosian became the world champ, he told his grandpa Samvel about it who started crying when he heard that and said - if only Vardan were alive to see what his boy achieved.
For sure. When Kasparov sacked the bishop, I assumed it was game over. But some of the greatest attacking players could never score a spectacular tactical win over Petrosian. One of the greatest defensive players of all time, if not thee..

Take this as a humble suggestion for improving your channel. Amazing work! Best!
CD27 that's my point. some People keep saying Garry Kasparov has the highest rating etc etc without knowing how the rating system works. Anyway, Fischer would demolish Garry if both played in their prime !

Two great Armenians. Petrosyan was coaching Kasparov a few years before he passed away. Kasparov’s mother was Armenian and father was Jew, but he grown in Armenian family as his father passed away when he was six.
8:50 not removing bishop protection from b6 but Rb8, then Bh6, Qe7 and its ok, everything is nullified and petrosian would be a pawn up for the sacrifice from kasparov which would lead to nothing, enough for petrosian to win and start to exchange pieces
