My Z06 has had all sorts of wheel cleaners until recently. I’ve been on a Brake Buster kick lately. Uh, that concluded after I tried Adam’s Wheel and Tire Cleaner. My wheels have never been cleaner. This cleaning solution is aggressive but gentle. It removed all brown gunk from the tires. It did a beautiful job cleaning the face, barrel and inside of the wheels(stock light silver color). I just ordered My second gallon. I use it straight up in a 32 oz spray bottle. Keep up the good work. You’ve hit it out of the park with this product. Thanks.
I repeat what others have stated. I was on the BB hype train. Realizing that I was BB "Breaking Back" trying to get wheels clean. Wheel and Tire Cleaner is the true 👑.
I've used wheel cleaner a few times and had very bad results, each time it was a wheel cleaner stating it was good for all kinds of delicate finish, one of them Bilt Hamber. My issue is diamond cut wheels where there is a clear lacquer over a bare aluminium finish. Both times the wheels corroded under the lacquer making it unsightly and impossible to fix without refurbishment. This damage occured within two weeks of cleaning. The issue is that diamond cut wheels almost always has a very thin edge of lacquer where it meets the painted and bare aluminium section. This edge if it has a microscopic break allows the chemical to creep under, once this happens it keeps creeping creating irreversible damage. Both sets of wheels were over three years old and in perfect condition washed only with car body shampoo. Wheel cleaner also has the same effect on center caps corroding under the finish. My friend had a new 458 Ferrari with diamond cut wheels. He had three set under warranty with the first set corroded after its first service where the dealer washed the car, the second set corroded two weeks after the dealer installed. I think again they cleaned them with wheel cleaner after fitting. He sold the car after the third set was installed. Unfortunately I can never trust any wheel cleaner even the ones for delicate finishes. Love to hear your response?
@Niq ger Lel I don't use them, I feel they are for people who need a quick result or the wheels haven't been cleaned in a long time. If you regularly clean the wheels and apply a wax or protective coating they clean easy and don't require specific wheel cleaners.
Purple (Wheel & Tire) is good on tires too. As he stated, purple doesn’t have the chemical which attacks turns red/purple. Purple is good as you can use it on wheels and tires. The teal (Wheel) is for when you have more stubborn brake dust. The other teal (Eco Wheel) is a lighter formula so it’s safe on all wheel.
I do and I have had wonderful results not w an ik foam but adams foam sprayer. Basically same thing. I use 2/3 oz and 13 oz or so of water cleans wheels minty
Does anyone know which tire and wheel product of Adam's I should use ? I have a 2013 Mercedes SL550 with the sport wheel package. 19"AMG 5-Spoke wheels with high performance on Runflat tires .
I don't know if those are clear coated, but when in doubt, use Eco Wheel Cleaner for the wheels, and Tire and Rubber Cleaner for the tires. Then each brush he shows in the video. With those, you should be all set!
Are you familiar with sterling wheel cleaner it's made by trans mate,it's purple,I've used 20 years now on all kinds of wheels with no issues at all even on powder coat, can you do some videos on all purpose cleaner for interior's.
Hi Mario, we do apologize about that! Make sure you only clean 1 wheel at a time, when they are cool to the touch. If the wheel is warm or hot, it can have negative reactions. I would recommend our Hand Polish with a Blue Hex Grip Applicator to try to remove any discoloration. Use the Hand Polish in the shade, when the wheel is cool to the touch. Wipe it back and forth several times using light pressure, then immediately buff off the residue with a plush microfiber towel like our Borderless Grey Towel.
So if I Graphene coat my wheels (remove wheel to properly clean/coat) would I use ECO wheel cleaner + car shampoo? No need for heavy wheel cleaner on coated wheels correct?
So the wheel cleaner is just basically a Iron Remover? Why not just use that instead of the wheel cleaner? Last, I have a vehicle that has PVD coated wheel. Now I from what I understand PVD Coating is pretty resilient to chemicals and other environmental factors. None the less I still would like to know if using the Wheel and Tire cleaner would still be okay to use, or should I stick to the Eco Wheel Cleaner?
Hi there, in a sense yes, but Wheel Cleaner is a stronger formula in a thicker gel consistency to cling to wheel spokes better and drip less, rather than spray in a wide pattern on a body panel like Iron Remover. PVD coatings can be very delicate on some manufacturers (I know because the black chrome coating on my aftermarket wheels is peeling very poorly on 2 of the 4 wheels after less than 2 years). The Wheel & Tire Cleaner itself did not affect the PVD coating, but more rock chips and debris from the roads that caused failure in my case. If the Eco Wheel Cleaner is working, I would stick with it for the majority of the cleaning sessions 👍
On your site you state the wheel cleaner is ph neutral . How can that be when it contains Thioglycolate, which I'd an acid. other names include 2-Sulfanylacetic acid 2-Mercaptoacetic acid Acetyl mercaptan Mercaptoacetate Mercaptoacetic acid Thioglycolic acid Thiovanic acid[
Purple bottle tire and wheel cleaner = OEM wheels. It’s a degreaser and will strip away ceramic/graphene coatings on wheels. Wheel cleaner (blue bottle) is pH neutral and safe for ceramic coating, and it contains iron remover. This is the bottle to get if u have wheels that are ceramic coated, or u want a cleaner with iron remover in it. It’s the most expensive bottle. Eco wheel cleaner? According to SDS it’s more on an acidic pH level, guess if u have custom wheels these are the go to. Don’t see where these serve a real purpose if u stick to a pH neutral wheel cleaner u would be safe.
Great video but I'm almost ready to stop buying specific wheel cleaners after a friend of mind recently told me that he only uses Dawn dish detergent with water in a spray bottle to clean his wheels. Here I am with everything in my arsenal from Poorboys World, Chemical Guys, Adam's and Griots and this rascal is cleaning his wheels with less than 50 cents worth of product. SMH.

Great video and explanation of your wheel cleaners and when to use them. Thanks!

Honestly diablo wheel gel is a good light cleaner. And i dont like any chem guys products usually but i like that one
My wheel have todo much oxide, the color is Brown. Can I use iron remover first ando then Tire and Wheel cleaner ?
You wore the wrong shoes for this 😂
adams is very good product
Are all these good to put in a ik foamer?
Are those brush not bad for clear coat?
what about carbon fiber wheels on a motorcycle which one would you recommend and also for a motorcycle OEM wheels
So what's the difference between the purple wheel cleaner and the teal?? They both seem to tackle, break, dust and iron.
Purple (Wheel & Tire) is good on tires too. As he stated, purple doesn’t have the chemical which attacks turns red/purple.

I'm looking for a spray on rinse off product - other products say DO NOT rinse the wheel first spray directly on to the dry surface
can adams wheel & tire be diluted for use in the ik foam pro??

I got d671 fuel mags that are bronze ....is the product good for m'y wheel..?? Dont want to damage the finish of the wheels
If I have painted aftermarket wheels which one would be the best?
Which one ended up working?

so you don't make a product just for chrome rims?
Are they all safe on aftermarket painted wheels like Fuel Wheels & Moto Metal two color painted wheels?
Same as OEM. Just painted and clear coated wheels.
How did you not address powder coated wheels
Love the info, but shaky hand held cam making me nauseous.
i used the wheel cleaner on my white wheels and it left a pink residue and can’t get it off

Do these products take off wheel wax?
Of course

I have a 2017 SL450. What wheel cleaner should I use on my upgraded oem wheels?

That wheel and tire cleaner spray nozzle is a great way to waste product. First thing I would change. 🙄
