The song sweating bullets was inspired by a person who was a friend of Dave’s wife, who apparently was a bit off the wall crazy, that’s it really. Dave himself never suffered from schizophrenia. Megadeth fan 30+ years 🤘

Megadeth fan since the early 90s. My older brother made me a mixtape with GnR, Megadeth, Metallica, etc... and I've loved the bands since.

megadeths first five albums are fire ..sweating bullets is one of my favorites but there are so many favorites
I prefer Megadeth over Metallica.
In My Darkest Hour is my favorite Megadeth song.
I remember reading somewhere that the idea for this song came from when Dave's wife's friend had a panic attack. Some situation had triggered it. The lyrics of the song itself sound more about depression/anxiety than schizophrenia.
Anyway, keep listening to Megadeth! I like watching these reaction videos of my favorite band. Dave is a good songwriter
I don't know about schizophrenia. I read his autobiographical book several years ago and I don't recall that being mentioned. Anyway, I love your channel! Megadeth always amazes me how great they are.
i also dunno if it's true, but i will say i know a few schizos, and this song/video/lyrics are exactly what they've told me being off their meds for long is like. paranoia, feeling boxed in/cornered, hearing voices, feeling like you're having a conversation with yourself but it's not you, or it's a dark mirror version of you that picks at your own insecurities, etc.
i always say Megadeth is what metallica would have been if they had stayed true to the thrash roots instead of changing their sound around the black album for more mainstream appeal.
Two fun little Megadeth songs that I like are Lucretia and Dawn Patrol. Lucretia is definitely an underrated song. Everyone else can suggest their more played songs, the 2 mentioned above are good little gems to listen to.

The other guitarist during this era, Marty Friedman, also has his own career as a solo musician in Japan. He's well-regarded enough that the Japanese government has asked him to compose music for them. You should check out his video for the song "Miracle."

Try "Breadline" and "Supercollider". "Almost Honest", "Addicted To Chaos", and "Reckoning Day" are really good too. But "Skin O' My Teeth" is my favorite.
in 1992 this song kept an agst rigged teenage me in check, and to this day I get a great release at 48 singing this song at karaoke. metal has always been theraputic to me .

Mostly a fan of your reactions Lilly Jane, but yeah old Megadeth fan. This album Countdown To Extintion (1992) was Dave Mustaine's answer to 1991 Metallica's "Black Album". Both were great records back in the day.

She-Wolf & Trust are the 2 songs that made me a instant Megadeth fan, the same year in 1998, i went to my first Metal/Megadeth show. Live - Rude Awakening would be even better for a reaction!!!

He doesn't have schizophrenia.
He went to rehab somewhere around 17 times. Shortly after this album came out , he overdosed on Valium, went into cardiac arrest, was revived, and then was in a coma for 8 days.
He also beat throat cancer a couple of years ago

this is the most creative of Mustaine when it comes to lyrics writting and the music video helps it a notch, I love Hook In Mouth as well and I'm happy I still have " Countdown To Extinction " on cassette , this song is really up there as an instant classic

Dave was committed once in Arizona by the band and said he wrote the lyrics to Diadems while in a straight jacket. But I’ve never heard of him being officially diagnosed as having Schizophrenia.

I have 2 friends with schizophrenia, but I've never heard of Dave having it. I have no idea how they did those multiple band member long tracking shots through tight jail cell windows in 1993.. with no CGI

One of my all time favs... I love to kill this song at the bar for karaoke. If you haven't Their song Victory is a killer one too. Side comment you should react to Flowbot's Handlebars. It a break from Megadeath and Metallica but it's a fun song!

I would've picked a different song for a first Megadeth reaction... :) Merely because Countdown to Extinction is pretty much, Megadeth's "Black Album". The thrash metal Megadeth, on all its crazy classic, that's a new world waiting to be checked.
Oh and sadly, the music video cuts off the intro. A shame, because it's a pretty cool one.
My favorite Megadeth video? I don't know :) It wouldn't be "peace sells" because the video edit is too cliche. But maybe "Go to Hell". It's pretty different, at least for Megadeth. And it's a good song. Super cool main riff.
