    spring failed during a trip this weekend. I was able to tap the housing with a hammer to get the paw to fall into place for a temporary fix, saved the weekend.

    I have a 1992 Coleman Fleetwood Pioneer Chessapeak - It's never made a clicking noise when raising it but has been VERY hard to crank up. This is my 3 summer with it. I've used it twice this year noticing it seemed even harder. Trying to get it ready for a trip this weekend and I can only crank it up about half way. I removed the front panel and greased the chain, it was dry as can be, but I'm not convinced that helped. It does feel like the problem is right in this part of the assembly though. I'll have to try to find this piece and see if that's part of the problem.

    We just purchased a 2005 coachmen clipper, I’m trying to figure out which system we have. It looks similar to the ratchet paw system. Can you tell me what I am looking for? The extension pole from the crank to the paw system (if that’s what we have) is the part that just broke on us..... the first time we tried to pop it up.

      These are goshen lift components commonly. Try reaching out to my friends at canvasreplacements.com for help with this part.

    need a video of the 2000 coleman elite crank assembly which has the rear plate, supporting the back of the shaft, riveted to the main bracket. This assembly bolt to the back of the frame and sticks through the back of the bumper. Also an explanation of how the assembly actually fictions in regards to the friction disc.

      Hello Brandon! You can find a growing number of videos on the direct drive systems ready and available on our channel. More always coming soon as well!

      @@popupcamperpro Thank you. I did figure mine out. Parts were worn and there was no longer pressure on the friction disc. I drilled out the rivets in order to take off the back support plate. Added a washer that was thick enough to be on the heavy side and riveted it all back together. Adjusted the tension on the toggle paw and and it all works perfectly.

    I was wondering if my 06 Fleetwood Niagara highwall has the lift crank 3000 or not not really sure

    • @popupcamperpro
      @popupcamperpro  4 года назад +1

      From the factory it had a upper chain drive system. If a direct drive has been added, a 6311 would be a more popular option typically, but a 3000 would work as well. Check the thrust bearing and whiffle tree coupler to determine which has been installed, or send me some pictures.

    I am having trouble lowering my roof on my 1994 destiny. I have to take a screw driver and manually hold back the pawl to allow it to lower. Any suggestions as how to fix this problem?

    • @popupcamperpro
      @popupcamperpro  2 года назад

      This is typically a drive hub issue, where it is not disengaging the clutch. I would remove the drive hub tube and inspect the threads.

    Can I install a direct drive to the bottom side instead of opening up sheathing to replace upper drive system on a 2006 sequoia?

      @popupcamperpro  4 года назад

      In many instances you can, although a good bit of fabricating is typically required.

    i have a 1995 fleetwood stony creek. How do you lower the crank or how does ratchet paw disengage?

    • @popupcamperpro
      @popupcamperpro  2 года назад

      The paw engages and disengages when the crank compresses, and decompresses Andy.

      Randy, you can with friends and safety post pre built place between the roof and body rails. Please find your model specs at colemanpopupparts.com for proper roof height.

    I would think they, or you would use either a lock washer or a lock-nut on the bolt.

    • @popupcamperpro
      @popupcamperpro  4 года назад

      You can add a bit of lock-tite to the nut as well. Since the system uses a collar and the paw is free swing, it typically is not required though.

    Really stupid question... I have this system, and all the videos I see show you how it works raising the roof, but how do you lower the roof? I can't crank the roof down with the ratchet paw engaged. Is there some trick to it?

    • @popupcamperpro
      @popupcamperpro  3 года назад

      If the paw will not disengage, this means that the system is not decompressing. The drive hub extension tube threads are the common culprit.

  • @levifullam4332

    Fleetwood Yuma, when cranking the roof down it sounds as though something is skipping teeth for the first half of lowering the roof. Is there and adjustment somewhere I need to look for?

    • @popupcamperpro
      @popupcamperpro  3 года назад +1

      I would start with a chain and drive gear inspection first. Look for a worn or loose chain, and any missing or broken chain drive gear teeth.
