@@PaperBeatsRock you should also just be able to pop a cover off on the axle, and possibly place your 2 speed into high range manually, then replace the cover, and disconnect the Switch on the shift lever, and remove it entirely, or repurpose it, maybe add a Jake Brake, and use the old 2 speed button to activate or deactivate the Jake. I used to belong to a volunteer fire dept in upstate NY, and they had a 1974 Dodge C900 Pumper with a 555 Cummins Engine, 5 Speed Trans, and 2 Speed Axle, and it locked itself into low range, and we had to pop that cover off, and flip the axle up into high range, and disconnect the 2 speed button in the cab. The Truck shifted fine after that, and they ran it as a straight 5 Speed for another 5 or 6 years before the Insurance Company finally stepped in, and forced them to retire and replace the truck about 5 years ago due to age.

Reminds me of the single sketchiest drive I've ever made.
Bought a very similar International 4900 DT466 heavy ambulance - major difference is mine had juice brakes instead of air, and an automatic. Literally turned out of the guy's driveway and stopped at the stop sign *in front of his house* and the brake line to the rear exploded. I was dumb and since it was just freeway straight shot the whole way home aside from one stop sign, I rolled with it. Successfully used the brakes the two additional times needed (at the one stop sign and at home).
The truck *absolutely refused* to go above about 35mph, too. Never did figure out what that was about, because while I was working on the rear brakes I made the excellent discovery that it's just as well that the line blew out, because one of the rear calipers (it had 4 wheel disks) was missing its retaining wedge on one end and if I'd tried to apply any force with it, it would have jammed into the wheel.
Ultimately ended up giving it away to somebody with truck tools, because I didn't have the tools to really fix any of that without hurting myself, and as it turns out the county [or rather, one of the neighbors] does not appreciate big red inoperable trucks on residential properties, no matter how far out in the boonies.

You're probably be pushing it at 68 in high range. Most of these are set up where you're not going to get a lot of speed more than highway speed but you're going to be able to split more gears to get a heavy load moving to get up to 68 miles an hour it's not like an Overdrive most the time it just adds in between gears
