this was a pleasure to watch just like it was a pleasure to play against you, trips. youve really impressed me during these tournaments with your placements and performance and emerged as one of the strongest and most reliable players. its always great when youtubers can back it up on the ultimate stage and prove they deserve their audience. its not something you ever usually see in total war. most youtubers in total war have a habit of hiding away on singleplayer and just milking it for views. theres always been something very suspect about it all. so, to see you emerge as such a strong player is refreshing. also, the analysis has been great on top of it. im so used to being inside my own head during these tournaments most of the time, so to see someone else take their time to post-analyze these games for youtube viewing was interesting. first game was super close - was a really gritty slog where your bows really made the difference and earned you the win. the second one was pretty much my textbook oboke and was a very reactive and tactical give and take. that last one was weird - it looks like your usual blobby fight now, but at the time i remeber being confused at some of the stuff that was going on, i think one of my groups bugged, also i somehow barely missed out on the shrine which threw me off. also then the other shrine didnt capture which was strange. but you fought a good fight and that chain rout was devastating. and then you had a great run through the rest of the tourney, so you were on form. a pleasure to have you contending these past few months and bringing your ideas and shogun 2 chad determined grit to the ultimate arena of the ultimate total war game. cheers and look forward to meeting you in future tourneys. if you upload any more tournament analysis videos, id be happy to watch. this analysis is sound and it will always make interesting videos. :CheekBuster:
:) Glad you enjoyed it, and yeah definitely agree with all of what you said. Pretty sure your cav in the end got bugged on that hill for the 3rd battle. Overall though yeah I love competing in these and its always great to watch the replays and try to make sense of all the quick decisions happening. I'll probably upload some more for sure and I'm confident you'll get your revenge at some point lol
Ikko Ikki VS Otomo for the first battle? Basically a religious war of militant Buddhists against Christian converts. An interesting scenario indeed. :D
Guides are great and all, but once in a while it is great just seeing a game or two just to see how it all comes together. I wouldn't mind seeing more videos like this in the future :)
20:05 When your ninja were revealed and your cavalry started moving in, his response was to start shifting the opposite flank inward. Those high grounds are great for supporting extended battles, but seem like they could be cut off by a push like at 22:23 unless they had support. Did that woodline allow an effective ambush? Couldn't tell if they were hidden or whether you knew they were covering that crossing. Great in-depth video, loved the information density.

Imagine getting knocked out from your own tourney thrice
The fact that TripleZ mass routed the mass routing master makes it even better.
So does playing against other shogun 2 youtubers count towards becoming shogun of shogun 2 youtubers?
How can an army comprised mostly or entirely of calvary defeat an army that has bows and plenty of Spears?
