ohio state's work on the sideline was huge those first down passes right at the edge
Michael Hall Jr. is a stud, Buckeyes have a real shot with this group. Probably tOSU vs Alabama if I had to pick now.
They looked great! Notre Dame is rough and tough. GO BUCKS!!
This was the first game not only for the teams but for the head coach for nd.
After watching the Georgia game I now respect the ND defense so much more
Good to see some defense.
Mid-West football is so satisfying. 'Murica!
'Ain't Midwest anymore - B1G Coast to Coast in 2 years, welcome aboard USC & UCLA, and that massive SoCal TV market! The Sun Never Sets on the B1G Empire!
@@naughty.r0bot Columbus and South Bend are still in the Mid-West last I checked.
Two very well disciplined teams but Notre dame needs to stay disciplined through the 4th quarter. Under freeman they have given up both the Oklhoma state game and Ohio in the second half.
#3 Williams and #32 Henderson will be the next McFadden and Jones (Arkansas)… Jus watch!!!
one down
Despite the nonsense anti-OSU trash talk, Marcus Freeman had his team very well prepared for a first-year, young head coach. Of course, he was developed here in Ohio and would not be the good coach he is today if OSU did not play a major role.
Getting more physical Bucks need to add RPO
It's difficult to attract 5-star QBs to RPO teams. No otherwise NFL-bound QB wants to be used like a RB in a playbook full of potential season or career ending schemes.
Buckeyes all day #1
#1 Defense in the country
I called it early ND was gonna bring it to us for 3 quarters and that 4th that’s when they would get tired and ostate ran the ball down their throats
Great win let's Go BUCKEYES NATION O-H
I O
I-O!!!
What significant game has Brian Kelly won? U mean to tell me that Kelly woulda went to the horse shoe and won? Yea rite. Notre Dame woulda lost by more than 11 because. Brian Kelly woulda went for it on 4th and long at the end of the game. Hats off to Marcus Freeman who at least had a lead at halftime!
Kelly's talent is getting a team to a big bowl and then bailing on his team for another job before the game.
2 evenly matched teams
OSU: #2 rating on the number of highly rated 5 star players .
Not on their performances .
Notre Dame's is on paper and promotional department build up , not their abilities on the field . More than on the field . They played over their heads Finally the depth of OSU . Beat them up . Longer the game wore Notre Dame down .
Go bucks
Proctor starts the season with a missed tackle... 😣
And the personal foul hit on the qb was the cherry on top for that drive! Still resulted in only a field goal def is nice!
I was wondering where this comment was? Did they bench him bc he was gone after that first series?
@@buckeye4lifepodcast the guy's talented regardless of what happened after that play... but over pursuing is his weakness.... Will forever be on Ohio State's record as the first player from Oklahoma to ever play for the Buckeyes.
To be fair that was his first play since the Oregon game
5:38 tell me Stroud isn't different.
Hey BIGTEN NETWORK: It appears the algorithms of the search engines are blocking you guys out. I am having a hard time finding your current football highlight videos.

IF, and this is a big IF, Ohio can run the table, I think you're looking at a Rutgers vs OSU match-up for the national Championship
Rutgers and ohio are in the same division
@@jcelldogs whooosh
It’s not really a big if at all
However Rutgers could win it all so watch out
ND was lucky to score 10 😂😂😂
@jy4256 And their 3. Outside of plays of 15+ yards, ND averaged 1.9 yards per play.
Get Go Buckeyes
For Notre Dame to have been ranked #5 was the biggest joke of all time. Why does ESPN & The AP continue to put out these pre-season rankings, when they are based on politics instead of true analysis? I get that we have to have early rankings to make games interesting, but each year they are further and further from reality. Now analysts will say “Ohio State has a win over a Top 5 opponent”, when they really don’t. What’s even worse is that they use these rankings to establish records for teams forever. When they have nothing to do with reality (example: Marshall now has 2 wins against top 10 teams, in the history of their program (as they beat an 0-1, yet still ranked #8 Notre Dame this year). That should not be in the records. Those records should be based on a teams Final rankings each year. Just a bunch of hogwash to me.
Looks like it wasn’t Brian Kelly after all 🤔???
Notre Dame can't recruit like the top FBS programs due to their academic requirements and the fact they haven't won a national championship in 34 years. Eighteen year old kids talking to Notre Dame recruiters weren't even alive the last time ND won a title and their parents were literally in elementary or middle school at the time. Notre Dame, the "we're special because we say we are school" has not been nationally relevant since Ronald Reagan was President, the Soviet Union still existed, gasoline was .83 cents a gallon and Rick Astley had just released Never Gonna Give You up.

Great win for OSU not taking anything away from them at all but ND did not come to win. Instead they game planned on how not to get blown out and claiming another moral victory. They ran only 48 plays, they were huddling up to burn clock which I dont b.v remember them ever doing and on 4th down, with 4 min left, needing 2 scores they punted. Their D played great but that O was criminal.
Playing ball control is how they tried to win. Which is the only way they could. Getting into a shootout against this OSU offense with a QB in his first ever start is a bad idea. The only chance Notre Dame had was to control the clock and keep Ohio States offense off the field. And they did a very good job of that. But at the end of the day, this Ohio State team is better in the trenches and overall tougher than they have been the last couple years. This game plan would have beaten last years Ohio State team for sure.
Fowler🤦🏿
refs missed targeting call, ya cant spear or lead with the crown of yer helmet, hometown refs
Man literally tripped and gave the QB an accidental love bump XD
Are you referring to the hit on JSN that knocked him out of the game? Because that was the only missed targetting call.
@@MichiBuck12 I'm talking about the one they reviewed, where Mike Hall tripped over the OL and slowly fell head first into the QB. It was so funny that they reviewed that because it was so obviously incidental
@@baractusobamiuscaesar5540 Lol I was sarcastically responding to Vince's dumb comment. But while we're here, funny story, I was talking to a michigan fan the other day and he used Oregon State in 2015 as an example of how michigan schedules higher quality non conference opponents than Ohio State does.
@@MichiBuck12 🤣🤣🤣🤣 That's just gold!!
Announcer was an absolute atrocity. Should be fired immediately.
Fouler won't be fired lol they are always homers for the team against ohio state. Get used to it. Even on Fox Sports, when Ohio State is a big fav and the other team even thinks they have a life, the announcers root for an upset.
Fowler is always anti Buckeye and Herbie just tries too hard to be neutral. Not sad to see big ten moving away from their relationship with espn.
Ohio state will never beat Bama or the bulldogs
Ok
We did it once and we will do it again
Defense played superbly and they won the game for the team, the offense not so much. They are not an Alabama caliber team.
Okay whos they played Utah state haven’t seen this bama offense against real comp yet can’t stay that cuz bama played a cupcake their first game can’t compare the two until bama plays a top 5-10 which is Texas next week and it’s in Texas so we’ll see
You acting like Notre dame doesn’t have a great defense year in and year out. They were missing both of their star receivers and cj stroud working with the back ups. Not only that Notre dame game planned around their passing game on defense and we’re pretty much begging them to run the ball, which Ryan day didn’t do until the second half and when they did they ran the ball down their throats. Idk if it was the give the receivers more reps since it was both of their first starts or what, but if he started running the ball earlier offense puts up more points. But Notre dame has a big d line and they played well. They made it difficult for cj stroud but he still stood in the pocket and made nfl level passes on the sidelines. He scrambled when needed to and did the same. Even with them gameplanning around their receivers they still got two bombs deep to their backups. Jsn probably goes for 150 and 3 tds if he doesn’t get hurt on literally the first drive for osu lol. We got Arkansas state next week, both Fleming and jsn are expected to return. They’ll put on a show for u. I’m gonna say 500 yards of offense and a 5 possession game for osu. They’re that deep and talented. The defense can do what they do best. We can use these games to look at the differences between last year and this year. They didn’t come into this season ranked #2 for no reason. Not after having last years defense. If things stayed the same they probably drop to 8-10 somewhere. Offense stayed on the field bc the defense would get touched every drive
Offense is gonna have a bad day every now and then. Bama had 10 points in regulation against Auburn last year but they were still a great offense.
You are comparing Ohio State vs a Top 5 program to what? Alabama playing an unranked cupcake team? FYI, Ohio State & Alabama are the only 2 Blue Chip teams in all of FBS football this year - defined by 247Sports as programs with 80% or more of their roster being 4 or 5 star players. The only two. Literally, in all of college football, and the margin between Ohio State & Alabama is to the right of the decimal point.
I think what you meant to say, is no one else in college football this year are Ohio State or Alabama caliber teams, and that would be correct, and the stats - not opinions - prove it.
@@naughty.r0bot a top 5 team that lost to Marshall.
Ohio State is overated. They have no chance vs Georgia or Bama. They barely skated by ND. FJB
the only thing reasonable that you said was "FJB"
I personally hope we smack one of those teams this year just to shut up all these SEC stans who think the sec is the only conference in CFB...
Though it was acceptable for it to continue last year bc conference pride isn't more important than UM getting destroyed, which I kept telling everyone was going to happen
stop drinking and please get some therapy ND is not unranked Oregan or Utlal state ND was number 5 for a reason
Bo Nix gave the game to #29 and the dawgs in the first quarter… the game was already done .Stop it!!
Bama played another cupcake team in the opener.. They better win by 50+…Stop It!!
Now, the bigger question should be whether or not GA deserves to swap places with Bama? If I had to guess GA is going to jump OSu placing two SeC teams on top…
Welcome back to
JB is still your daddy tho! LET'S GO BUCKEYES!!!
Ohio was out of bounce when catch was made with 6 minutes left on 3rd down. Coach should had challenged it
your out of your mind the sideline official was right there where were you
get some help please an some glasses
@@rickmick8160 Even Norte Dame's ball boy was doing the "Good Catch" symbol. 6:54
No he wasn't. They showed it in super slow motion and he caught it in bounds.
You need 1 foot down for college.. his entire foot in slow more drug across the ground before going out of bounds... it wasn't even a hard call and that's why they didn't challenge.
Buckeyes Offense Play Calling was lousy and pathetic throughout the game. Ryan Day/Kevin Wilson's play calling is predictable to all opponents. Oregon which beat them at home last season was beaten today by Georgia by a score of 49-3. When the Defense starts working, the Offense goes into a coma! I hate to say this, but Ryan Day does not have what it takes to win a national championship no matter what level of talent he has in players. They need a smarter and more creative new Offensive Coordinator to call effective plays for the high talent in players they have now. I do not think Ryan Day/Kevin Wilson had any clue about ND's Defense. Henderson is an overrated Running Back
Ok
To criticize that offense is to know nothing about football.
Notre dame has an elite defense. What happened last year means nothing this year. Completely new schemes for the defense. #1 defensive coordinator calling plays now. Watch them play.
Bro U mad cus u said thus twice
please put down your pipe
