- I recently traveled on a cruise in April 2023 and had to get my passport the day before my cruise. They issued the passport the same day I had the appointment. In this video I go over how I booked my appointment, what I had to do once I got to the passport office in Miami. I also talk about time spent at the office and how much everything cost. Call them first thing tomorrow am on the 1st. They should have something for you. There was so many people there when I went

Thank you soo much for this info! We can't call for the appointment until June 8, but we have already applied and done the whole process at our local clerk of court. The problem is that the passports won't be here on time, and they have our original birth certificates. We didn't realize they would be taking the originals, and can't get my replacement on time since it's from up north. We live in Orlando, so we're really hoping everything works out when we make that 4 hour drive 😏 Thank you!!

@Erica Valencia I'm actually so upset, because they told me this isn't an option for me since I already applied. It's only for people who will be applying that day and traveling within the 14 days. Now, my only option is to fly to Connecticut where I was born to get my birth certificate that day. I ordered it online on May 30, since the one I had was sent with my passport stuff. I called and they said it would be weeks for it to get here, and I would have to come in person. We ordered my husband's from NY and it came within days, surprisingly. Hopefully it's just CT that's like this. Sooo upsetting... Wishing you luck though :)

I had seen another video that cites a number to call to get your cutrent passport in the making expedited. Something about your confirmation reciept shows which passport office has your application
@Erica Valencia Yes, thank you :) I did do that over the phone, but was told that they would only charge me if it was approved. The guy on the phone was very vague and not very positive that it would even be possible to get in time for my trip next week. He kept repeating that he couldn't guarantee anything, etc... At this point, I'm planning to fly to Connecticut to get my birth certificate in person if I don't hear anything by this Tues. Soo stressful and unnecessary, but it looks like my only option now. Hopefully this comment thread helps someone too. Thank you 💛
Do they reference the travel date you give over the phone vs your actual travel date on paper? I know the apt has to be in the 2 week window. But wondering about the call to make an appointment?

Yes it has to be the date your traveling they will ask for the precise dates

Did the price you give ($210) include the passport application fee also, or was it just for the expedited process? I'm trying to see it its cheaper to go this route than 3rd party expedited services. thanks
That’s it. 3rd party is gonna cost you way more and take longer
Hey! for the copies of the Driver License, do the front and back need to be on the same one sided page???? or does the front need its own page and the back on another??? or does it not matter? pls lmk asap im freaking out lol

I don’t think it matters. At all just as long as there is a copy if they are asking for it. I brought my ID in as well.

Where is the entrance of the facility? Because I seen a lot of comments saying they lined up at the wrong door 😂, I know it seem so stupid when I don’t have an appt yet worrying about how to get into the facility. 😂 I applied for my passport 4 days after I got naturalized by the USCIS on February. Plane tickets already booked since lasted year. And the travel date is on 07/02/23 , which is not to far from today 😢, haven’t heard anything back from them, and suddenly see this video . I decided to give it a shot by calling them 14 days before the day I need it to flight out. After waiting for hours thinking they would give me an appointment. Instead they told me that I still have to wait for 5 days before leaving to check with them to see is there any appt available, and of course no guarantee that I will have my passport.😂😂😂 On the phone with them right now! The entrance is downstairs. It’s the entrance you go into, to go part at the Hilton hotel that’s on the higher level of the garage. The entrance is right there on the ground floor you’ll see people lining up.
@@kdcounseling new updates on Monday 06/23 which is 5 more days before my flight on 07/02, I started calling them at 07:57 am in the morning and waited for 1h 15 minutes to talk to agent to see if I could possibly get myself an available appointment for my passport. “Unfortunately” that’s what they all said , there was no appointment available anywhere else. I was so desperate ,and ask them what to do next because I need to catch my flight this Sunday. The only thing they told me was just to keep waiting until the passport agency reached out to me… 😡, and hang up. After, I decided to keep calling them and hoping that someone else had cancelled their appointment ( so that I could have a chance to get my passport) . Started my first call at 8 am and I believed my last call with them ended at 11:30 pm . I spoke to 5 different agents and they all said No. Note: after the 3rd agent I spoke to on the phone said no to me , I was so upset and decided to find a different way. So I did a little research find out who is my local congressman and give them a call to ask for help. After filling out the form for the congressman office I continue calling the passport agency office to see if anyone has canceled their appointment yet. The next day come, a Miami passport office’s called me and ask for my information so that she could print our passport and sent it , so that I will have it the next day which is today, I have received my passport. So my best advise is to find out who is your local congressman / women and ask for help. Never give up hope and keep praying 🙏, wish you all the best.
Hi I had a question I got a appointment one day before my flight and I’m seeing videos people saying is taking long then 7 to 9 weeks is that because they did it only ?
If you go to the appointment you’ll get your passport that day. Yeah those videos are for people who sent their forms in.
I been calling 3-4 times a day. No appointments available. Gotta keep calling and hoping for a cancellation
I called right when they opened like a few mins before until the system actually connects you at like 7:55am
I believe this also applies to first time passport applications? I will get naturalized this week so will be a first time applier. Also, what proof needs to be shown at the appointment ? Do they accept a printout of the airline ticket ?
Yes I had to bring a print out of the ticket, I went on a cruise so it was the confirmation of the dates and times the ship was learning and coming back. Did you call ?

My mom needs her passport by 6/24. So can’t start calling for an appointment until 14 days before, right? She is stressing out that she won’t get an appointment in time. My question is…. Is it better for her to apply at the post office now and then when 14 days out, request an expedited appointment? Or if you have already applied, is that when you can’t get an appointment until 5 days out? Also, if we called now for an appointment, do you have to prove travel within 14 days? Thinking she could call now and try to get her appointment booked but then what happens if they have an appointment earlier than the 14 days? Eek! Trying to get all the info to ease my moms nerves. This is a trip of a lifetime for her and she is so worried she won’t have her passport in time. Yes, we should have applied earlier but we had a issue with her birth certificate. I wouldn’t stress! If this was me knowing what I know now. No, don’t apply at the post office. Or anywhere else because they will take your birth certificate (most likely). Call 14 days before and book a appointment. Don’t worry they will give her an appt. Bring all the paperwork to the appt and you’ll get it done.

Hey I got my appointment on agency next week but I don’t have my birth certificate on me rn because I already gave in my birth certificate when I applied through post office can I take a copy of birth certificate?
Not sure you’ll have to call and find out
You can go to the court house or health department & get a certified copy.
What information do you have to take for your child’s appointment?
The other parent has to come or you have to have a notarized document from the other parent. Your ID/ passport their ID passport. A form to fill out for the passport and the birth certificate, photos. Payment.
If I submit an expedited passport rennewal form so they can process it soon, and all of sudden I have to travel in in 14 days can I request that I get an appointment with a National Passport Agency and not have to pay again or provide the orginal passport which I already submitted them to them?
I would think so, I know people that have done that, but I would call and double check and find out

Yes they make you bring in pictures. In Miami they had a place downstairs that can take your picture for a fee.

I think so. Mine was 7am and it took us an hour to get processed. We were asked to come back at 1pm and had the passport in hand by 3:30pm the same day
What’s the number you called for Miami? We are having issues!!
It’s the main number and when you talk to the rep you tell them you want to go to Miami. I don’t think there is a separate number
I’m just very angry that Im in San Antonio, Tx and my passport is being processed in Atlanta. Do they really expect me to go over there?!

I applied for my passport it’s gonna be 3 months tomorrow and when I check for passport status it saying “in process”😭😭😭looks like no summer trip for me
You can still get it in one day, if you make that appointment, you tell them I’ve been waiting x amount of time. You would have to purchase a flight or tickets that show your traveling internationally though.

Does the father have to come with the mother and the kids whos applying for the passport for her and the kid's?
No but if they don’t you have to have a notarized form from the parent that will not be there.

I have a question was it easy to get the appointment?
I called 2 weeks before and they gave me an appointment that was one day before I left. I’m happy they still had appointments.
You must have proof of international travel within 14 days. Else you cannot get an appointment if you need in person service for new or already expired passport. This is a disgrace and complete waste of our tax dollars, NOT at work. We already paid for this important service for citizens. A disgrace.
@@GungaLaGunga Yes i had to show them that I was traveling within 2 weeks. I paid around 60 dollars to expedite. Not sure what the breakdown was but I paid $210.

@@kdcounseling Wisconsin you can call 14 days out and if you didn’t have expedited service you can add that on but no appointments till your 5 days out if you already have your application in.

You need the actual documents not photocopies. Which ones are you referring to?

What’s fun is when they have no appointments available.

@@kdcounseling Yes-turns out it’s very common. We were warned when we called within the 14 days that the appointments are extremely limited. Even worse if you have already applied-they have fewer allotted appointments for people who have submitted applications and keep appointments open for courier services and people who haven’t applied until the 14 day window.

Make the appointment. 14 days before it’s not that stressful. It’s that or try to get one expedited now. Check the website to see what are the wait times right now.

Passports are currently backed up 13 weeks there’s NO WAY to get one any sooner!
You can get it in one day if you have an appointment at an agency with proof of travel within 14 days. I just did it in Miami.
