You have to call to get an appointment yes! But what they don’t tell you is that you may not be scheduled to be seen in your city and you may have to change your flight. I called today and they told me I had to fly out from a different city which is a $4000 price difference on top of what I’ve already paid. Please get your passport before you book your flight. You don’t want to end up in my situation!

I suggest that anyone needing a passport directly call the STATE dept. and they will provide updated realities as to expediting your passport. The State dept has the parameters on their website as well, under the category of URGENT TRAVEL. Thanks, again.

Hey, From what I understand, you need to have your proof of travel during with you at your appointment. It seems kind of backwards, because you would have to pay for the trip up front, then see if you'll actually be able to go, but if you show up and say, "Yeah I have it booked, but I don't have the itinerary," they may decline your passport since you don't have proof of actual travel. From their point of view, you could be using the urgent travel process as a way just to get your passport to use later, which is not what the urgent travel appointments are intended for. I have an appointment coming up, and I was told by the agent on the phone I would need to bring a print out of proof of travel at the time of the appointment.

Hey so I have an appointment for a renewal for my passport and they gave me DS-82 form to fill out. I marked no to one of the questions that asked me “if I was at least 16 when I got my passport” and I was 14 so I put no and it tells me to fill out DS-11 form if I say no to any of the questions instead. Will I be fine and still get it the same day for filling out the DS-11 form?

@@michellehunt808 Yes u do have to wait until it is 14 days! I called before that time frame in the end of April and they told me to call back on may 1st for my upcoming trip on the 13th. I currently live in the west coast so I called the number at 5am since Easter time is 3 hours ahead. I was only on hold for about 40 mins, and it was very easy for me to make the appointment. So my advice is to call as soon as they open! Hope that helps!

Hi Hayat, 1. From my experience I've noticed most places will not distribute the passports until after 2-2:30pm. But I'd highly recommend letting them know at the agency if your flight is any sooner to see what they can do for you! 2. I did not go to Arkansas... We actually were able to book our appointment in San Diego the MORNING of our travel since we were flying into SD, then greyhounding it to Tijuana, Mx. Glad this helped and best of luck getting yours!

When I tracked it, it says “Delivered at PA Philadelphia on 10/22/2021, available for pickup. I don’t understand it. Is it supposed to be sent to Philadelphia for processing as I live in California? The "available for pickup" part can be misleading. I am not sure in this case as it was not a one day passport application, Correct? I would recommend calling the post office you applied at, or if there's another updated number provided.

We did need both ID/License + Birth Certificate bcus he was a 1st time applicant 2. That should be good enough, technically their documents say ONE but they were persistent on us having two at the time of the appointment. I know this is very late after the fact haha, but my friend and I were just talking about the whirlwind I went through trying to secure my passport and it reminded me to look for the videos I was watching when I was stressed out. I remember watching yours specifically, and this helped me feel so much more prepared for the process. In the end I'm pretty sure they only asked for the ID, but I brought the birth certificate just to be sure. In the end I ended up securing my passport and had an awesome time! Our appointment was at 11:30am. They close for lunch/processing, then you can come back after 3pm for same day pick up. But some will let you in at 2:30pm if you ask.
Hi! I went through this process before. After the appointment was all set and done, we got the passport probably around 2 hours later after we were told a specific time to come pick it up.
Depends on your travel. If you have same day travel they will get it to you that same day. I was 3 days out and they wanted me to come on the day of but I went the day before and they had it!
I believe you can but I would let them know this at the time of scheduling the appointment AND I would bring in copies of everything again just in case.

Hello, so I just got my naturalization certificate and I changed my name. I went social security administration to update my social security card and to the DMV to update my driver license then I suppose to receive them in 2 weeks, but I have the receipt of both doc updates. So my question is can I go to apply with the receipt of my driver license and social security card update or I have to wait until I receive them to carry them with me
It should also include those who haven’t received it yet. You’d have to let them know at the time of the appointment booking. & you’d need copies of everything you’ve submitted.

1. We did need both ID/License + Birth Certificate bcus he was a 1st time applicant
2. That should be good enough, technically their documents say ONE but they were persistent on us having two at the time of the appointment.

I know this is very late after the fact haha, but my friend and I were just talking about the whirlwind I went through trying to secure my passport and it reminded me to look for the videos I was watching when I was stressed out. I remember watching yours specifically, and this helped me feel so much more prepared for the process. In the end I'm pretty sure they only asked for the ID, but I brought the birth certificate just to be sure.
In the end I ended up securing my passport and had an awesome time! Thanks for making the process so much easier. I really appreciate it! :)

Hello! Currently going threw this nightmare! I’ve followed every step they’ve asked. Unfortunately I called in to schedule my appointment…but there was NO appointments available. Can anyone please point me in the right direction on what I can do from here 😫🙏🏻 I see everywhere that there is no walk ins, but I’m wondering if anyone has just shown up and had any luck. Our appointment was at 11:30am. They close for lunch/processing, then you can come back after 3pm for same day pick up. But some will let you in at 2:30pm if you ask.
I only have my drivers license. My insurance card does not have my photo ID What else cold i possibly use.

Hi! I went through this process before. After the appointment was all set and done, we got the passport probably around 2 hours later after we were told a specific time to come pick it up.
Depends on your travel. If you have same day travel they will get it to you that same day. I was 3 days out and they wanted me to come on the day of but I went the day before and they had it!

I believe you can but I would let them know this at the time of scheduling the appointment AND I would bring in copies of everything again just in case.

you dont have to pay for a flight but you do need a itinerary

Hello, so I just got my naturalization certificate and I changed my name. I went social security administration to update my social security card and to the DMV to update my driver license then I suppose to receive them in 2 weeks, but I have the receipt of both doc updates.
So my question is can I go to apply with the receipt of my driver license and social security card update or I have to wait until I receive them to carry them with me

It should also include those who haven’t received it yet. You’d have to let them know at the time of the appointment booking. & you’d need copies of everything you’ve submitted.
