Ok allow me to play Devils Advocate here for a moment. I know the idea of Goku v Superman 3 is going over very poorly in the community. But i think that this has less to do with the actual matchup and more to do with Death Battle saying hey we can handle this episode now. Its been 8 yrs since GVS 2. DB as a show has grown and evolved DRASTICALLY since then. Im going to give the match a chance before i write it off as DB "selling out" or "spiting Goku"
Their research methods have changed so much. This new entry might not match the first GvSM in its impact, but I’m hoping this one might have the same polish as a regular modern Death Battle episode!

Rick vs the Doctor was good, thought it went a little quick at points, mainly the intro and conclusion. also likes alot of the jokes, the screaming sun through me off, lmao. As well as the weeping angels scene, thought that was cool. I overall liked the episode overall. As for next time...my intitial gut reaction apon seeing the trailer... *god fucking dammit* After a day of thinking about it later: I can see why they'd want to do it, and the pros for it happening nowadays, and they'd have to try really hard to mess this one up when they've knocked the ball out of the milky way Galaxy with their episodes at this point. My hopes and wants for it are nailing the analysis and characterization for both, since I think the old animation of both videos still hold up to this day, but not how they'd handled their characterization in the second one. Also, rooting and betting Superman
They had the balls to do goku vs superman 3 but still no joker vs giorno. The finale is probably going to be galactus vs unicron, silver surfer and megatron were in this season. I'm still sad that there's no kira vs adachi 😭😨

Death note is my third favorite anime behind fma and jojo's and I used to watch columbo,Gilligan's island, I dream of genie,and a bunch of other old shows with my mother so I have a strong connection with the match,and it would mark the first ever "debate battle." Since it would be hard for light to learn his name he could kill the people around them in ways that could kill columbo as a byproduct,like him killing a homeless guy in front of the house they're in via a truck that rams through the building.
From a tinfoil perspective I'm getting the impression Goku will finally win this fight, Ben already said he hated Goku vs Superman so making this could mean something, also they've been contradicting themselves so there's no doubt an SCP matchup is gonna happen soon at least in deathbattle's lifetime.
The Doctor actually first Winner that didn't really show any Violent act during the fight. He win againt Rick by outsmarting him, which fit for Doc Pacifist Nature.

I’m hesitant on it giving the speed edge, considering back in the first goku vs superman, one of the fighting styles superman knows is something that sounds pretty similar. Can’t confirm it’ll be a factor, just wanted to bring it up due to it being something I feel could nullify it’s advantage

Honestly, I see no reason why they should run back of this battle. I mean it’s most likely going to be good, but they really didn’t need to do this.
