I think the best way I can describe Lucario vs Renamon goes as such: The One Minute Melee on the same match-up, which released roughly 2 years before the DB, was better. Not just in comparison, but on its own.

Man, could you imagine if the Marvel diva who occassionally has excessive hate and misconceptions being done dirty all the while her opponent was presented as the coolest person ever became a running trend happening 4 TIMES resulting in a just OK epidode where the Marvel diva gets stomped, another OK episode where the Marvel diva gets stomped around even harder despite winning, one of the show's worst and most biased in writing episodes to date that had just the right timing and presentation to trick everyone that it's not the biggest pile of shit that took more inspiration from a recent pile of shit adaptation movie and the 3 infamous characyer assassinating source material insyallments for the loser's portrayal than the actual decades of good source material character work that was available to be analysed and adapted in the episode and another OK epispde where, although the Marvel diva's portrayal is actually well-meaning this time (took them long enough) ends up fumbling in execution on quite some aspects and portrays one of the most kind and decent individuals in Marvel to an asshole. And off course, people may try to defend these portrayals either by taking the episodes' words for granted or by pointed out at the 1 or 2 infamous event comocs they happened to know a basic plot synopsis of where everyone gets character assassinated. Considering all that and how awful Rogue's episode was, should I be concerned if Jennifer, Emma, Janet, Betsy or any other Marvel diva enter the show?

Another thing I liked about the whole "isn't this usually the part where we win" bit is that it felt even. Like, I felt like it wasn't a jab. After all, this is usually also the part where Voltron wins, it feels like both of them are confused.

Honestly I don’t know why but I enjoy Lucario vs Renamon way more than normal and have always been kinda confused on why it was so hated.

I think I might be the only person who actually likes Lucario VS. Renamon, and that's because Lucario is my favorite Pokémon. In fact, I would even score it a 6/10 just for my Lucario bias. I love his analysis so much it makes me smile. Plus, the Goku comparison makes sense since they share the same voice actor, and it has one of my favorite deaths of the whole show. Also, I'm not a Pokémon fanboy, just a Lucario fanboy. Cope, Seeth, and Mald, you silly PNG.
