    Really good information and clarity! I love it when YT creators don't drag it out... perhaps I have artist OCD😃 but I truly gain so much more when it's clearly stated, no blathering relentlessly or taking sharp turns in the narrative. Your narrative flow, excellent! 😃👍

      I cannot tell you how much your comment made my day! I work hard to avoid the things that annoy me (overly long intros and wandering chit chat) and provide clear, informative content. It's really satisfyingly to know when I succeed! Thank you!

    Tank to for sharing this information. It is really kind sharing your knowledge for free specially in this time when all classes are so expensive and not great. I just took my first class in metal clay one day 7 hours that i thought it will be great time for asking questions and learning this new technique in my jewelry work but unfortunately the teacher was really close in sharing knowledge and was more interested in promoting her upcoming classes than focusing on given the basics like you are doing here. I was really disappointed. Anyway i’m learning here! great 😊

    Thank you! This is great information. How do you determine the amount of silver clay to use/start with? Is there a chart or recommendation. Also, how can you measure to make sure you're starting with the right amount?

    • @PamEast
      @PamEast  4 месяца назад +1

      It all depends on what you're making. If it's a simple earrings or pendant then 10g is usually good. If I need to do a broad piece with a lot of cutouts, I likely need 20g.

    Roller question, how does the art clay world roller compare to the cool tools brand non-stick roller? For me the cool tools one is too slick & slides on my rolling frames & the clay rather than rolling over them. So far the PVC is my choice, but I haven't tried the heavy duty stuff. Thanks for sharing your wealth of knowledge!

    • @PamEast
      @PamEast  Год назад +2

      I think the two rollers are very similar, but not exactly the same. They feel like different materials, but both have good non-stick qualities. I'm thinking you may experience a similar issue with the Art Clay roller. Try keeping your hands parallel to your worksurface, hand above your roller. Rather than having your hands tilted a bit like your pushing your roller. I see that in class a lot. Could be what's causing your slipping.

      @@PamEast thank you! I have some dexterity issues due to arthritis so I can't really work the roller that way, wrists no longer flex much. :/ But that let's me know I don't need to spend the money on it. :D

    I have a question about how do you roll out clay on a texture stamp and just pick up a portion of the stamp while the other part of the clay is just a smooth surface, like blank space? Could you do a video on that?
