Masking Stamps for Metal Clay

  • A viewer on my Rolling Clay video asked if there was a way to use just part of a stamp, and have the rest smooth. The answer is yes! You can absolutely mask stamps.

    Excellent! Thank you! Dumb question... Do you worry much about any clay lost that sticks to your fingers?

      No such thing as dumb questions! This is a good one. I keep a water dish with a small sponge on my work table. I clean my fingers on that. Periodically, I wash all the silver out of the sponge and recover it that way.

      You can use paper clay. Make a ball out of it and it will burn away when it’s fired.
