YOU are such a joy to watch!!!!I always love watching you each and every time you're so talented may God continue to bless you and your family amen ❤❤❤❤
I miss family too Talli, although most of mine is gone and my boys live so far away at least they are happy and it seems like life has taken them away too ! But at least when my daddy’s family were young they all made it a point to get together,it was an era I miss too Love ya girl and I have enjoyed your family, especially at Christmas that must’ve been so much fun !
That is almost exactly how I make my dressing, except I don't put eggs at all , I add a pound of breakfast sausage and mushrooms if I have them ! I found your channel recently and have been watching your videos every day, we cook very similar, I was born and raised in Ohio but my parents are from East Tennessee, so I was raised on good ole southern cooking and there isn't nothing better!!! I love your channel! ❤
I watched my grandma make her dressing back in Tn. In the 50’s, you make yours just almost like she did ,except she put sage in hers.she grew sage in her garden and we all loved the taste. So over the years I make mine like grandma . She also put sage alone with other herbs in her canned pickles. You are so right, like potatoe salad, there are thousands of ways to make it.Everyone likes it their way. God bless you and keep cooking.
Kent Rollins has an amazing version w/o your smashed onion celery and extra egg additions that improve everything. Love learning from fellow Texans. My mom passed when I was young. All esponsibilities of care were mine. Older brother type 1 diabetic. So having y'all to watch brings such joy. Thank you
I have loved cornbread dressing since I was a child, my mom to me, made the best. It was very much like yours. She would have me taste it from the time I was young and I could say what kind of seasoning it needed, but I never can get it exactly like my mom's fir some reason, I think she imparted so much love with her hands, that I can't duplicate. She and I would always use our hands to do the final mixing. Thank you for sharing your love
We would have huge family gatherings for the holidays, especially Thanksgiving. Dressing was always my favorite. Our family never liked anything with sage. It's so weird. So many people absolutely love sage. We lost our huge family gatherings because of our special loved ones passing away. We have to keep our traditions with our smaller families that are left. I'm like you, I miss those days. Oh my gracious, how I miss those days. Great memories with big family gatherings.
Some of us older girls are watching also. You are a cooks cook. You know food. I trust your judgment and measurements. I love the way you cook❤❤❤❤❤ I have saved a lot of your post, I will be making bunch of them. Girl, you rock❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
You are so good filming and cooking at same time. I cook most my meals by eye balling it. I see you do it too!. Its so fun watching you share your yummy meals. Thank you so much.❤❤❤❤💘
I guess I’m one of the weird ones:-(. I have never seen dressing made like this. I also love sage and do not care for poultry seasoning.(I told you I was one of the weird ones). I’m from Indiana and maybe we don’t make it the same. That doesn’t mean we all can’t try new things:-). Love your videos ❤️
I love watching you cook Talli Faye. And I just love dressing! I make my mama's dressing, which is my great granny's recipie of Southern Cornbread dressing. It is a meal in itself, it has; cornbread from scratch, white bread toasted in the oven, potatoes, celery (with some chopped celery tops), green bell pepper, onion, hard boiled eggs, chopped giblets, 1 large tomato chopped (mama said it was for color), chicken broth for liquid, salt, pepper, and Allspice for seasoning....no sage. This is the most delicious dressing I have ever tasted!! I don't care for sage either. I saute the onions, celery, and green bell pepper in butter, then add chicken broth and tomato and cook for about 10 mins to soften, then add spices. Boil potatoes and giblets and chop. Crumble breads and add potatoes, giblets, broth with veggies and bake with butter dotted on top. Soooo good!! Thanks!!
Thank you so much for doing this video. You saved my family from another store bought Thanksgiving. My Grandmama Valley will be proud thanks to you. One of my biggest regrets is not writing down Grandmama Valley and Grandma Bertha Rae's recipes.
Love the way you cooked your celery and onion, then mashed them.. What I do is chop everything in my food chopper, then cook it in butter. I don’t like crunching the-vegetables as I eat it. Good job, just like my recipe!
I stayed in the kitchen with my Mom and Grandma. Sooo glad I did! Glad you are getting to learn cuz that's what it is about. I am sure you are getting down in the kitchen now! 😊❤
I made cookbooks for my boys a few years back for Christmas. In the books were all the recipes that they liked when they were growing up. Cornbread dressing and giblet gravy was at the top of the list for them. The books turned out so good with pics also throughout their childhood. But every page had a recipe and a photo. I made them from photo albums.
My husband couldn’t eat anything hard so I said well I will make some cornbread dressing,he ate almost all of it ,he was so happy …starving no more ,thx Tall Faye
I miss the big family gatherings. For Thanksgiving, we invite plenty of friends and their kids to help enjoy the celebration. I do Thanksgiving at my house. I make most of the dishes myself. The day before, I make 5 or 6 pies from scratch. I do the prep work like chopping celery/ onion, etc the day before. The morning of, I put together my stuffing, and start my gravy using the turkey neck, celery, onion, chicken stock and seasoning on the stove and cook that all day to make gravy at the end. Homemade mashed potatoes with plenty of butter and cream. My dinner is not for the faint of heart. Everyone who comes to my house knows to bring their Tupperware for leftovers. I have never made cornbread dressing. Yours looks really good. I think I want to make a small pan of it to see how it goes. Thank you for the great video!
I loved this recipe !! I was so glad to see that you didn't use Jiffy cornbread mix...I think it is too sweet for dressing...although a lot of people do use it. My grandparents came from Central Tx, and I make my grandmother's dressing...soooo similar to yours !! And it isn't sweet !!! Thank you for all of your recipes and videos Ms Talli Faye !!!
Yes! Gladiola is my favorite cornbread mix , the white cornbread has a good texture and it comes out moist , your recipes is almost he same as mine , I add some precooked H‑E‑B sage flavor sausage and it gets flavor with out over doing , I’m going to try the stovetop for sure , I can smell it through my iPad 😂😂 ❤from SA
TFS. I luv the holidays and all the yummy food. Stuffing is a must have for my family. I eat it all year round. It's delicious and so many ways to make it. 😋
I make my dressing like you with one exception. I put finely chopped fresh jalapeños in it. That takes it over the top! Try it. I think you’ll like it.
I use .Arthas Wbite Self-Rising Buttermilk Cornmeal Mix in the 2 lb. bag... do not use sweet cornmeal mix! You dressing won't be good if you use sweet cornmeal!!😮😮

I love sage but i couldn't stop laughing because you say don't be scared and you were scared of using to much sage
I know right!!🤣🤣
Our family would never put sage in our cornbread dressing or bread stuffing.
Enjoy your Brothers Bagel making I can't have Bagels but I can at least watch and learn Nita84cal
One holiday my husband added so much sage he turned my dressing green. He ruined it...needless to say he cannot come near my dressing ever again!
