I like Andrew’s Peter Parker. He acts like a real person and reacts how someone that’s getting bullies would normally act instead of just being a punching bag. I hate how people try to say he’s bad cause of that or claim he’s not comic book accurate without taking in consideration there numerous versions of Peter Parker and some of them literally act like Andrew.

Not near as young as Tom, but he definitely doesn’t look his age at all, which was like 28 at the time iirc.

My thing with skateboarding, it’s a solo sport. Peter never would join a school sports team and seemed like a social outcast. Growing up in the earlier 2000’s peter definitely grew up with X-games and the Tony Hawk and Skate games. It’s one of those sports where you can just do outside In your driveway and not have to talk to anyone else. This “cool” Parker maybe just picked it up cause math

Both of the Amazing Spider-Man movies are my favorite Spider-Man movies.
The first movie, is great. The characters are the best they've fever been in Spider-Man movies. You can't tell me any characters from the Rami movies it when than May and Tobey compare to the complexity of Andrew, Uncle Ben, this Aunt May, Gwen, and so on. The cinematography is also, amazing. The Amazing Spider-Man movies have always been visually stunning and they are. Especially the second one. No matter what you feel about TASM2, you have to admit it's visually stunning. The OST for both films are great, the Spider-Man theme and the Electro theme are some amazing pieces of music. Gwen is literally the best live action love interest for Spider-Man yet. They handled her arc extremely well. Both movies have great writing, and Andrew Garfield is an amazing actor for Spider-Man.
These movies are my favorite Spider-Man movies eight after No Way Home. I hope Sony does more things with Andrew.

Captain Stacy in TASM1 at the dinner scene is to bring Peter into perspective. Peter was just hunting down criminals that look like his uncle’s killer for his own vendetta, he wasn’t actually trying to protect anyone. He wasn’t actually being a hero.
The cops also weren’t incompetent at catching the criminals, it was a strategic move to find the leaders of the gangs. A plan that they were following for months.
So really Peter was actually messing them up.
We as an audience know that Peter is the protagonist, so we are (supposed to be) on his side, but from an outsider’s perspective, a random masked figure starts hunting down people, potentially endangering bystanders, and messing up an established plan you had set up.
Peter actually needed that talk to tell him what he was doing wasn’t the right thing.
Stacy also didn’t ignore the Lizard. When Peter came to the Police station to tell him about it, after Peter left, he actually looked into it, and a whole team started hunting down the Lizard, as you can see in the scene where the Lizard gets shot up.
They were trying to stop both the Spider-Man AND the Lizard. Many seem to forget this.

If they had let those stories be organically fleshed out in multiple movies without messing with the creative process like they did I think it could've been a pretty great franchise...Andrew deserved a better chance at this character and I'm happy he got some redemption at least in no way home, he's a great actor and you can tell he really loves and cares about spidey

I have always liked Andrew as Spider-Man. I don't think he was too "cool" as Peter Parker because in the start of TASM he got a basketball landed on his head, a girl went up to him and he thought she was going to ask him out but ended up asking her to take pictures of her boyfriend's car, he acts like a weirdo when he's taking pictures of his crush, he tries to stand up for a kid that was getting bullied but ended up getting beat up in front of everyone, and every time he talks to someone he seems to have serious social anxiety. Also, I don't think him skateboarding was a bad thing because it just makes him relatable to modern teenagers and it's not like he was the captain of the football team, he didn't play any sports in school. And he is a science geek because he was at oscorp and looking up to people like the lizard who was a known scientist. That's just my defense on his take as Peter and I'm tired of people saying negative comments about his take.

12:13, the opening is a metaphor for the entire film, peter searching for his father, he prioritizes searching for his biological parents and ends up working with a father like figure (doctor connors). the day ben dies hes prioritizes working with that father like figure instead of picking up the call with ben, he loses the father he then loses the father he took for granted (ben) and connors turns himself into a perversion of science, captain stacy talks sense into peter during the dinner scene (this is the point of the film where he finally becomes spider-man) he then saves a kid on the bridge and reunites him with his father, a moment that he'll never have and then Gwen's father dies, so for me at least even though he had very little screen time, that silent scream peters lets out is everything

I love TASM, cause the characters feel more grounded. Andrew’s TASM Suit looks sick. It looks far more athletic and Andrew’s Spidy is visually in the way he swings. It could also be just the way it was shot. Which the different swinging shots are top tier.
20:37 Yh I think they should have separated Harry’s transformation into Hobgoblin / Gwen’s death into another movie. They could have sprinkled some scenes of Harry throughout in TASM2 to get us familiar with him as a character so that his transformation would have been so much more horrifying to see.
26:03 Yeah man, I was typing this in advance but yh, like that scene where Harry and his dad were talking could have been a post credit scene; to setup another movie.
The whole bloodline aspect I skipped over ( didn’t really register / process ) the first time watching, but it’s true what people said and I agree. If it wasn’t rushed there would have been an “Amazing” story arch across the movies.

I like to make an argument on captain Stacy because in the movie he does say to Peter that Spider-Man ruined an operation to catch 1 car thief that could’ve lead the cops to catch an entire operation of car thiefs that they were trying to catch, also his point to Peter was how Spider-Man is inexperienced an amateur and doesn’t know anything about crime fighting, keep in mind this was during peter’s blood lusted revenge which captain Stacy points out saying Spider-Man is only catching a guys who looks similar to each other like he has a “vendetta”, I personally say captain Stacy was needed to help Peter understand he could do or be more as Spider-Man rather than just going on a revenge spree

It's not just the TASM2's propensity for trying to set up a Sinister Six movie that absolutely no one wanted, it's the tone. I loved the first TASM, and have said so openly since. TASM2 didn't even feel like it belonged in the same franchise, let alone the same cinematic universe. And no matter what thematic elements they could play with with this version of Harry Osborn, it can't substitute for the fact that he wasn't set up in the first film AT ALL and is just dropped on us in this one in a manner that is completely unbelievable, at least to me. EVERY redeeming feature of the film either comes from Garfield or Stone rising above the material they were handed.

I don't agree with everything you think here (especially Captain Stacy, who just seemed like a regular cop dad that took his job seriously).
I'm shocked that you think Andrew is MORE awkward than Tobey tbh lol (one of my problems with those movies is that Peter felt like a weird dork and not just a bitter nerd like he was in the comics). I think the personality of Peter in the first half of TASM1 is very accurate to the original comics, where he says something that a school shooter would say lmao. Despite their flaws, I love both of these movies and think they captured the characters and stories from the comics I've been reading for so many years the best compared to Raimi, while MCU Spidey is a close second.
I wish we could get an extended cut of TASM2 since there are so many good scenes that were cut out, that would improve the movie and its plot.

I remember when the movies came out I was in high school and I actually liked it. The writing in both movies is what messed up Andrew & everyone wasn’t ready to not see anyone but Tobey be Spider-Man but he did a great job in my opinion. Though the writing wasn’t as good in the first one the 2nd movie followed up with an excellent performance by Jamie Foxx as Electro which you could argue made the movie. So for Andrew he never got his due to me but I’m glad people are being more open to seeing him as Spider man and you can tell he really enjoyed playing Spidey.

So I liked Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man and also as Peter Parker and I know someone will disagree with me. I loved how these movies focused on the relationship between Peter and Gwen like that’s done perfectly. The first Amazing Spider-Man movie is great. I understand it’s not the best Spider-Man movie but it’s still a good movie and I liked how in that movie how Peter had to build his own web shooters and how the movie showed how intelligent Peter Parker because that’s part of his character. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is really good too I just wished they should’ve shown more of Gwen Stacy like the first one did. My biggest issue with the second movie is that yes, they teased the Sinister Six but they sort of rushed into it and then they just abandoned it and that really irritated me. I love Spider-Man he’s got some of the best villains. Like you said in the video it would’ve been better to tease the Green Goblin in a post credits scene. Or they could’ve had Harry become the Green Goblin earlier in the film and have a confrontation with Spider-Man before Gwen’s death. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 isn’t a bad movie I just feel like it could’ve been better and I think in order for a Spider-Man movie to tease the Sinister Six that you need more time to set that up and not have it rushed into the movie.

I Pretty much grew up all of the Spider man movies and Animated Shows.
    He's my favorite Super Hero.
Venom is my favorite Anti-Hero and Carnage is my favorite Villain.
Honestly Andrew has always been my favorite Peter Parker and Spider-man.
Even though he's not as nerdy or geeky as Tobey he still has some awkwardness and in the second where he's college age I think he seemed like adult Peter.
As Spidey he has the prefect comedy & charisma, he helped everyone including Jorge(the kid with the turbine) and he feels like an actual Spider-MAN. which Tom Holland (until the most recent movie) didn't feel right to me.

100% agree man. I can say that with getting older and going back being more open to things, I've happily liked all the Spider-Men. I'm probably one of the few people who grew up with the Sam Raimi Spider-Man movies that actually liked the Andrew Garfield Spider-Man more than Tobey Maguire Spider-Man, it's definitely mainly due to the Gwen and Peter relationship was just better than MJ and Peter but also because I was more into the Ultimate Spider-Man which this version was definitely more inspired from. I do think what they should have is Spider-Man and Captain Stacy a good relationship that would have made his death more impactful, seeing in the comics his death was 1 of the 3 that really effected his character, the other two obviously Uncle Ben mad Gwen.

Are you talking about the amazing Spider-Man suit? It is now. It was patched in. I think you need a online connection to get it but the only two that I know of that are not available on PlayStation 4 are the two suits from No Way Home. And to be fair, the black one in that movie is neat but it's not the best. I like the other suit with the gold spider emblem on PS5 but I don't think PS4 users are necessarily really missing out on much there. Amazing is definitely in both though.

I'm sure the reason why Andrew and Emma's chemistry in these films was the standout is because Marc Webb is no stranger to directing on screen couples in a quirky and loveable relationship and that carried over to this franchise as a result

I really like this universe more than the rami verse mostly because to me the rami trilogy felt like a spider man soape Opera and these movies feel like a modernized spider man imo. I really sympathize with Andrew especially since he was such a massive fan of the character and was fired for something that he can’t control. The history behind these movies really brings a frown to my face (some of it Sonys fault some of it not). After no way home and the leaks I really hope Andrew gets a second chance, weather that means spider man has a universe with no avengers or with avengers (probably without). I’ve loved this movies since forever and I really liked it, and I’m glad TASM 3 didn’t happen because of Sony’s plans for it.

I generally dislike the first amazing spider-man film. I feel Peter as a character is portrayed poorly. He is kind of jerk to almost everyone. Including Aunt May when he comes home with bruises. Also, I don’t think they gave Lizard enough screen time to develop which kind of made him meh. I actually really like The Amazing Spider-Man 2 aside from probably the villains. Maybe it’s just me but Garfield era villains are pretty forgettable. Anyways, I think they nailed Peter’s character. I personally think the amazing spider-man 2 has the some of best fights/action scenes and web swinging out of all the live action Spider-Man films.

I’ve given Andrew Garfield’s Spiderman a ton of flak simply because of the fact his version of Spiderman were in two average at best Spiderman movies. Also Andrew Garfield’s portrayal of Peter Parker pales in comparison to Tobey Maguire’s and Tom Holland’s version of the character. The one positive thing from these movies is that Andrew Garfield’s Spiderman says way more quips than Tobey Maguire’s Spiderman (even though I think Tobey’s version is the best in part because of nostalgia). I’m happy Andrew Garfield got a chance to redeem himself in No Way More.
