I want to take a second to acknowledge that DAP takes the time to explain the information you need when buying something that some might consider to be completely out of their league. This proves they are true car guys that want to spread their wealth of knowledge.
I purchased this kit through DAP. Mechanic had easy time installing them. Called DAP with a question, and they were super helpful. Braking is substantially improved. Better feeling of progressiveness when braking compared to the single pistons.
I don’t know if there is any clearance issues but I can confirm that the b9/9.5 four pot pads fit the tts calipers. There are extra bits in the end but that slip right into the calipers. I mention this because there are many more options for the b9/9.5.
I just installed mine yesterday and I love it. So much lighter and I definitely feel a difference on feel, power and handling at the front. I would usually feel the front end heavy.
@@zachel caliper wise?, no. Just slotted stoptech rotors and hawk pads. The combo stops really good. But lots of dust from the stock front pads. Unfortunately, only iSweep and G-lock makes pads for this kit. EBS is suppose to come out with one but I don't like their pads
I've read that the Audi Q5 3.0T and Porsche Macan front calipers also fit the PP GTI and R. The Q5/Macan calipers should have better pad selection and the Porsche at least are cheaper by a decent margin. I haven't seen anyone put a kit together for it though -- I wonder if it would be worthwhile.
What is the issue with running these on the cast iron spindles on the standard Golf/Sportwagen? Is it just mounting bolt length b/c the aluminum spindles are so much thicker?
deutsch auto can you explain a video detail plan when upgrading your mk7 gti to an is38 turbo build? Especially explain which is the right path for a hpfp, upgrade the internals from a stock hpfp or buy 1 from cobb or Apr or Hpa.
Solo Bellimino all the master cylinders are the same. The ABS pump (Brake Electronics) is what actually does most of the grunt work when you apply the brakes.
Nice video. Did you have to do any upgrade to the master brake cilinder? Ik upgraded my Q3 45TFSi with 4 piston Porsche Macan brake calipers and now I do have good braking power, but the goes deeper then before and only after letting the pedal slightly up and pushing it down again it gets hard. I'm 100% sure there is no air in the system. Whem I Start the car the pedal feels hard.
Those look very similar to B9 Audi A4 calipers, just painted. Will those fit on MQB cars? They are probably cheaper then the TTS calipers. Personally I don’t want the S logo on my VW, if the A4 ver. is the same it will be perfect.
Did you guys ever look at the Macan 4 pot conversion for the Mk7 Golf? They are also a direct fit, weigh around 9 lbs (without pads) and are substantially cheaper than the TTS callipers at around $500 for a pair? Just wondering which is the best option?
They are pretty much the same caliper, but the macan only comes in black iirc. The cheapest I found is $228 for each caliper. If you already have a PP gti then this is the best/cheapest route.
I installed the Macan callipers (4 pot brembo) on a non-performance 7.5 GTI (312mm fronts 300mm rear). The pedal feels soft now. Is the master cylinder up to the task of displacing the right pressure? The car came with 23mm MC. Would the RS3 MC (the 25mm one) alleviate this issue? Is it a direct bolt-on to the brake booster? does the reservoir need to be changed also? Thanks in advance
Two questions what are the differences between TTS brake system, TTRS brake system and RS3 brake system? And can I use them on a North American Passat, CC and MK 2 Tiguan?
Where do you buy these from ? I would really like the TTRS or the RS3 Calipers on my Golf Gti Performance Pack Mk7.5 2019 but unable to find anyone that will tell me where to get this kits from as well as the adapters etc etc 😢
Curious how much heavier these rotors are than the stock rotor if we don't have the sport package brakes. Do you know how much of the weight loss in the caliper is offset by the larger rotor? Thanks!
I’m local to the Cornelius area and was wondering if you guys do grille installs for my B8 S4 Audi? If so I would be interested in purchasing a new grille. Thanks!
Nice vid for this upgrade solution. But i don't like the backing plate of this aftermarket pads. The stock pads have this reinforced arms with thicker material on the corners. I guess there is a reason why. If you have the T4434 material on the stock pads in the US i would try this first. It is the same that comes on european Q7, so it can handle heavy vehicles at higher speed pretty well.
What would prevent the installation of this kit on the iron steering knuckles? An upgrade to the aluminum knuckle is very costly as it also requires a strut upgrade from 50 mm to 55mm and also possibly a wheel bearing upgrade (not sure about that)

For the non pp GTI is there any brake bias if I keep the non PP rear brakes? or should I upgrade to PP rear brakes?
also very curious
Pretty sure their alltrack is running the smaller rears too..
There is no reason to upgrade rear brakes besides looks. TCR race car (which runs slicks and aero) runs 355mm front but only nonPP rear brake rotors.
Would this kit fit on a regular Mk7 1.4? Thanks!
Dorky question, but how about fitment on the MK7 TSI?
I wondering the same thing. Plan to buy GTI performance brake kit with rear caliphers as well, but not sure.
They will physically bolt on, but its the master cylinder that would be the concern
Solo Bellimino all the master cylinders are the same. The ABS pump (Brake Electronics) is what actually does most of the grunt work when you apply the brakes.
They will not work because the TSI has a steel spindle. The mounting is incorrect due to this.
It is NOT due to master cylinder.
Nice vid Paul, these would go great with an is38 turbo. You guys should consider doing a DIY on an is38 turbo install on the mk7 platform.
Look for that next week. We already shot it.
