    Fantastic content! We've been pairing Thirdlane Multi Tenant PBX with these Yealink phones, and your instructions have been incredibly helpful during our system upgrades. Thanks for sharing your expertise!

    this explains so much. we got Yealink YP59 phones, with teams firmware already installed. I was going crazy trying to find settings from the non teams firmware versions of the same phone! (such as change wallpaper to custom wallpaper, which doesn't seem to be enabled via the GUI, and looks to be done via Provisioning server only at the moment)

    For companies that have many phones, it would be more efficient to download the firmware upgrade file onto a local tftp server (along with an initial yealink text based provisioning file in the root directory that points to the firmware upgrade file name), set DHCP option 66 on router to point to the tftp server ip address, and plug in each phone one by one to a PoE switch. Once plugged in, the phones will then automatically update their firmware!

    thanks for the video! whats the difference between the yealink t58a and the yealink vp59? I have a t58a but without the usb webcam, if I buy the webcam will the video work or does video only work for vp59 units? thanks!

    We purchased a couple T58A with the Teams firmware pre-installed. It looks like in the video before you upgraded your firmware, there were wi-fi options, but we can't find anyway to configure the wi-fi with the Teams firmware installed. Do you know if that functionality is lost when you upgrade?

    Hello Josh.. Excellent info.. But can you please share that firmware link here for me to try the upgrade. Or anyone who tried and were successful. Because I tried getting that file a lot through yealink site and I am not getting it. In our office for couple of managers the phone is yealink SIP-T58A model.

    You did not mention that a license is required from Yealink if you are directly upgrading firmware normal SIP phone to Teams Edition. It did not appear to you because you upgraded from Skype for Business firmware. So in this case license automatically ported.

      Indeed, I have been hearing that. You need to get directly with your Yealink rep to obtain this license.

      @@ExpertOfThings Josh, do you know if mslicense.yealink.com is the appropriate place to acquire a license from Yealink?

    • @ExpertOfThings
      @ExpertOfThings  6 лет назад +1

      @@ryanhansen80 honestly not sure. I just know you need to reach out to your Yealink rep directly.

    Can you help me? On the T58A, when I hold down * and #, it offers a reset, but it also asks for a password

    If later you decide to move from Teams to another VOIP phone system, can you install the standard Yealink firmware to convert the T58A back to a normal VOIP phone?

    Thanks, Josh. I was able to install this firmware. However, is there a way to get back to the root of the phone? I seem to be stuck in Teams. I can no longer make regular phone calls... On a somewhat related note, can I integrate all my outlook contacts into Teams. Because for now it looks a kind of lonesome affair.

    • @ExpertOfThings

      Not quite sure what is happening with your inability to make calls - however, on the latest firmware version and Teams App version, the new "People App" has been introduced, allowing you to see and manage your Contacts and Groups.

    Nice Job Josh! Yes Numan is correct (as you and I previously discussed this issue) in addition to contacting YeaLink Rep users can also obtain the license via mslicense.yealink.com/license . - gary
