I just upgraded the firmware on my brand new T46S. Now the default admin/admin access is gone and I’m now locked out of the phone. Can’t even do a factory reset as a password request appears after holding down the OK key, which is also some unknown value. Any ideas? Yealink support site is useless.
Hello Your phones could be connected to an RPS (Redirection and Provisioning Service) server. You may need to contact the provider who you bought this phone from to get it unlocked. You can force the phone to reset to factory default by pressing the OK button for 10 sec, but I think the phone will end up rebooting and get the settings back from the provider. If above cannot be done let’s try this: 1. make sure your phone does not have an internet connection only power or no default gateway. 2. Power on the handset while holding the speakerphone button. 3. The phone should show the IP address settings. Enter a valid IP address and subnet mask but enter an incorrect Default Gateway so the phone does not connect to the internet. I also zeroed out the TFTP address. 4. After that, you should be able to login with default credentials (still no internet access). Once you are in, upgrade the firmware with the generic yealink firmware form: link.4comms.com.au/Yealink-T46S_Firmware 5. You should be able to log in via web. If you cannot then on the handset you will need to go to Menu -> settings -> Advanced settings -> Password should be admin -> Network -> Web Server -> Enable HTTP -> Save. Phone reboots and you should be able to log in now. 6. Also disable the Auto Provision feature. I actually did this with a few Telstra branded handset that were locked and it worked. They are now configured with my own VoIP Service. I hope this helps you out. #yealinkT46S
@@4COMMSVoIP Thanks, already tried all that with no joy. May just try to exchange this thing for another one. Currently communicating with Yealink support so will see how that goes.
I noticed int he firmware update it changed it to mandated a mandatory password change. However, you are not provided the opportunity to change the dam password. so it locks you out. best option don't upgrade to latest frimware.
Hello Thank you for your question. If you need Skype for Business then you can find the firmware here: link.4comms.com.au/Yealink_DocsANDsoftware You will then need to click on "Microsoft Skype for Business IP Phone" and your model handset. Hope this helps 😊
Hi Patricia, If you cannot see the IP Address by simply pressing the OK key then it may be due to the phone not being able to obtain an address. Are you connecting to the handset directly with your laptop/PC? Best to connect the phone into the LAN port of a router or network switch then connect your laptop/PC as well to another LAN port. It then should pick up an address. If this is how you have it connected maybe check your cables. You may need to speak to IT as they may have DHCP off or on a tight pool.
HI, I usually take a back up before the upgrade. All Data usually stays after an upgrade. I have not had one default the phone yet but always take a back up because you just never know. BTW if you do a restore from a backup, I have found that you need to reenter the VoIP account password before it works again.
Thank you. This has been driving me nuts trying to figure out.

Hey,
I'm trying to do a firmware upgrade on a T32G but the phone is not displaying the IP address, how do I go about this?
Hi Patricia,

Will the firmware update change the configuration settings? If so, will importing the settings after the update work?
