Greetings Programs! Chaos Gate is superb and I'm back with some tips I wish I knew when starting out! What tips and tricks do you have? Please write them in below and thanks for watching! :)
My top tip would be, when you attune your prognosticars use these planets. UR-Tet, Pentragast, Caaleph, Y'Zeheim, Amalrich and Fides, this gives you maximum coverage with only two planets not covered.
The main lesson I've learned so far is *"Eyes on the money!"* You don't win at this game by killing enemies, you win by hitting the primary objectives as fast and with as little losses as possible. Even if picking fights with every random pack of Chaos marines doesn't lose you the mission, it will lose the game in the long run through attrition. There's only so much your apothecarium can keep up with, and if you keep coming back from missions with four "only mostly dead" knights, you'll eventually run out of able bodies to throw at Nurgle's minions. And trying to beat the later missions with already wounded knights... not a good prospect. Sometimes, grabbing a few extra seeds or an archaeotech cache may be worth the risk, but if you're already kinda swamped, a few tech points isn't worth getting critically wounded for.
Thank you so much for the kind words, berserkerbobby. That's exactly the effect I was trying for. 5 minutes, fast-paced, no messing around. Thanks for watching!
I also like the Purgators, specially with psi-lancers for the enormous range and the hability to made target crits on ranged. For the Interceptors I love their support fire hability, fully upgraded mades 5 damage 2 times for free.
@auricanmajere6236 I love how you wrote "psi-lancers" because I've always just pronounced it like it's spelled, i.e., "silencer", and that never made much sense to me why they would call it that in the lore, but now I understand how they pronounce it and it makes sooooo much more sense 🤣🤣. Thank you for that!
One correction: they have nerfed Gate of Infinity so that you can teleport in your field of view, not across the whole map. Still one of the best stratagems in the game.
Specific tip to the _Real Roleplayers™_ out there: if you're anything like me and really want to _Kill It With Fire!_ *...don't.* Your Purgators are much better off using a long range weapon like the Psilencer than living solely for those few precious moments where you put down a Promethium spray between you and the enemy and watch Nurgle's puppets charge mindlessly into the flames to die.
I understand what you're saying, and I know it's correct, but one of my Purgators is still a dedicated incinerator build, and I use him as often as I can, hahaha. I run with one justicar, my incinerator purgator, a Psilencer purgator, and an apothecary usually. Sometimes, I swap the apothecary for an Interceptor, or one of the purgators for the interceptor, depending on the mission/enemies. I know it's not the absolute most efficient way to play, but it's a lot of fun and I'm not trying playing on high difficulties for that particular playthrough. I've got other playthroughs active where I use a more optimal team setup, and it's a more serious difficulty, too but lately I have been loving the double Purgator build/s lol.
@TheCityofTownsville someone finally pointed it out hahahaha. That's the main reason I still hardly ever use Aegis Shield, and I see it in almost every guide, telling players to use it a lot more and that it doest cost WP, but no one ever mentions that it still does raise the WS meter haha.
Totally agree! I feel like there are optimal prognosticar placements and I needed to search the net for where to put them. Check the comments of this video though as I think someone else has put a tip regarding this?
@@GamingMagicMarkI already looked. I have a video I saved and screen shotted it on the most optimal placements. It covers everything except two areas. But enough to be comfortable.
The most over powered weapon in the game is the level 1 armor piercing PSILENCER. Do not upgrade your "ranged weapons" requisition until you get this weapon!
Quick Question, Do you stream ? I couldn't find you on twitch but I thoroughly enjoyed your Mechanicus Runs and would love to view other playthroughs (eg. Chaos Gate) if available
Hi Mel thanks for the question! No streaming at the moment sadly as my work/ personal life just won't give me the time for it, but who knows, if 2023 changes things for the better, I might get that going. Thanks again for watching! :)
Yes paladins are in the game and a reason not to take Termie armor (if I recall correctly) is that it hinders the greater movement of lesser armor. But it is cool nonetheless
You can't get terminator armor on every class, only the Apothecary and Justicar of the base classes, and the tradeoff with wearing terminator armor is that you can't climb up high objects, or jump over gaps and stuff like you can with regular power armor. It's called Enhanced Mobility or something like that on the character sheet. Obviously, the Perk from terminator armor is the two extra armor points that regen at the start if each turn. Yiur actual base movement speed stays the same though, five spaces per AP. I realize I'm responding to a year old post, but I noticed you never got an answer, so I thought I'd do that on the off chance it's still helpful to someone at some point haha.
Most starting traits on knights are downright useless or obsolete at best. Hunt for Omnisiahs chosen for efficient min maxing, as recovering from 5 crit wounds with it will confer you the most bonuses and the ones that you want and need for each individual knight (with enough rerolls). You can and should kill off as many knights with poor traits as possible, then commune with them using the good ones and gain ability points for free.
So I just beat the whole game on normal because this was my first playthrough. And I stopped using aegis shield and medical servo skulls, mainly for 2 reasons. First it's much easier to just win if you kill everyone and thus I found focusing on offense much more important than defense. Second, in regards to the aegis shield, it increases the warp meter each time you use it and again, most of the time I found it useless since the enemy were dead in 1 round. I'm just saying this because your video seemed for new players. I wanna try it again on legendary now.
Honor the Chapter is MASSIVLY overrated. Is it a nice tool? Yes, but it is overrated as fuck. Justicars in terminator armor with psycannons on their arm are amazing and its great when you interceptor can teleport them into the fray with the swap places talent, then they are fresh, with full AP, a metric shitton of armor and good AoE AND melee
Every status, boon, resource, concept, etc is fully explained in the codex part of the settings tab. But yes the actualy in-game tutorial type stuff really only scratches the surface of most of the mechanics

Bit late to comment.. going back to have a new playthru..
but as far as i remember astral aim should also be able to extract a seed?

Fantastic tip! Thank you so much!
@@NoOne-do5bb there are some planet not open in first stage of the game, later it will open up more planets. And those name will be available.

I have a team that has a justicar, a paladin and 2 purgators with a lot of range and crit dmg. Blasting from long range helps A LOT
This is the Way...

can you still use it to get to those bloom-things? (just got the game, not even sure what's happening, LoL)

I never knew that the Aegis shield was just an AP... I don't know how I missed that. Thanks!
I ignored that for ages when I started out too! You're welcome, and thanks for watching!
It costs warp surge though

Never knew i could aegis shield first then move! Perfect for scouting phase
Prognosticar placements. Felt overwhelmed when not placed correctly. If placed wrong. Many many hard missions afterward.

Also is there any reason to not upgrade everyone to termie armor if they can?

ageis shield does NOT cost WillPower thus it does NOT increase the warp meter since only WP usage increases the warp meter.

I plan on putting the Canon on mine. My first time playing the game though, so not really sure what I'm doing with the characters.
