What's the fastest half-ton truck you can buy? Find out here: ruclips.net/video/y23Q74AhhuI/видео.html
If you really wanna get down to brass tacks just add a little weight The ford But you can't be mad at them for making a lite truck GM does not even offer the 6.2 in a 2 wheel drive truck and you cannot get a 6.2 in a lower trim level that being said the extra weight won't make a difference F150 will still edge it out

After the Sierra/F150 run, it would have been interesting to see the Titan/Ram run just to settle 3rd and 4th place.
Or just race them all at once
I’m betting on ram for 3rd

assuming the 4x4 is going to have a 3.55 gear the ford should still win.
At least a 3.55 gear ratio….
Probably 3.73
Ford kicking ass taking names
F-150 with 4x4 I’d guess they would be dead even!!! But this says a lot for the little coyote being the smallest displacement.
let's also not forget that the Titan has a 7 speed auto whereas the F-150 has a 10 speed auto.
@@chpman2013 and
Little over built. Stock block can easily take 1000 hp.
Lol 3.5 or 5.0 has no chance at sea level. Fact. Lookup pickup trucks.com
@@Mctsep Those of us that live at more than sea level and who pull loads up hills don't care about sea level drag races when it comes to trucks.
Put a 3.55 rear axle f150 out there and see how much it dominates. I drove a 2016 4x4 f150 with the 5.0 and the 3.55 rear axle. I only lost to muscle cars if that helps you understand how fast it really is. It's not only a hell of a truck but a hell of an engine. Ford did a great job with the coyote.
My 2015 5.0 FX4 with the 3.31 pulls pretty hard up top. I've heard the new 5.0s pull even harder and are likely underrated.
satalac The Fx4 is a very nice package. You've got a hell of a truck there! My brother recently purchased a 2018 F150 with the new 10 speed with the 5.0 and a 3.31 rear axle. It pulls very well for being a supercrew and a 4x4. The only thing I would change personally is the 3.55 with the rear locker. It's a great in between axle for towing and for the highway. Good gas mileage yet it still gets up and goes.
Love my 2015 with the 5.0, 4X4 and the 3.55 rear. It's like driving around a mustang without all the negatives of a mustang.
The 2018 5.0 is way, way quicker than the 2015-2017 5.0s.
B C It is a little bit quicker but not by much. My brother has an 18 with the 5.0 and the 10 speed and my new 2018 2.7 (same cab configuration as my brothers) is quicker than his. I know the axle ratio plays a big role so they are closer than our two but it's not as big of a difference from the 15s-17s.
When i saw how close the race was between the EcoBoost vs the coyote i knew the coyote would beat the 6.2 v8 Gmc
I can't believe big brother 6.2 can't do it. I have a 2019 5.0 STX the lightest version on E85, at least 500 lbs lighter than the fully loaded one. It will pull way harder than the one shown here.
MarcoBala92 I bet it does....5.0’s are fast!
MarcoBala92 Also 2wd, that helped a lot. Still, though, those coyotes are fast.
Are you guys delusional? You're all so biased it hurts my brain. Have any of you heard about driveline loss? There is MASSIVE difference between a 2wd and 4x4 truck with the same engine/trans. I have a rcsb 2wd 4.7 5 speed 02 Dakota and it beats my buddies 2020 f150 5.0 10 speed. So does that mean I should go around saying all 4.7 Dakota's beat 5.0 10 speed Ford's? The lack of logic you guys have is alarming.
@@92clintonr you are spot on! Take the same truck/motor set up and only variable is 2/4wd and the 2 will walk all day…
That being said ecoboost fords are incredibly fast… I love my ‘18 2.7
You would think a big pushrod 6.2 would demolish a smaller v8 but GM vehicles are heavier than fords and the Nissan has never stood a chance… lol
TFL Truck, I love you but if I don’t see an Ike gauntlet test soon I’m going to lose it! Keep up the good work though! 👍🏻
I want to see a 2.7 ecoboost (2nd Gen) vs 2.7 Chevy turbo 4 cylinder Ike gauntlet so bad.
I know it didn’t perform well but that Titan sounds bad ass. Can’t believe the Ram was so damn quiet with that Hemi. Disappointed in the GMC on just about everything and that Ford 5.0 is a beast.
Right I got the 2020 and off went my muffler lol. Mechanic says 60 percent of ram owners run straight pipe
Which is more important? 1.2 liters of displacement? Or 600lbs? I'd vote for the displacement normally, in this case a free breathing DOHC 4 valve rises to the top.
Gotta remember 5.0 has 2x the valves and ect if the 6.2 came out of a vette detuned a little but just like the one in the ferd with the 6600 rpm limit it would take it
You can hear it in the engine sound... That coyote breathes and revs. You can always get more power from more dispacement and less weight will be easier to accelerate than more but porbably the most important part here is DOHC vs pushrod. Would be interesting to see how they compare on a road course... then weight, breaking, and mid-range power start to become more important than being able to scream along at high rpms.
To people pointing out the differences in rear axle gear between the Ford and GMC, they aren't actually much different...here's some quick math;
Ford: 3.15 (axle ratio) x 4.696 (first gear ratio) = 14.79 for first gear
GMC: 3.42 x 4.696 (same transmission as the ford) = 16.06 for first gear
But! the GMC has taller tires, 30.4 inch (95.5 inches traveled per rotation) on the Ford vs the 33 inch (103.7 inches traveled per rotation) on the GMC, which is a 0.92:1 ratio, meaning that;
GMC's 16.06 trans/axle ratio is multiplied by 0.92 (ratio of tire height vs Ford) and gives an actual ratio of 14.77 for first gear on the GMC, nearly identical to the Ford's 14.79 despite the differing ring and pinion ratio.
Coyote cleaning the house. I thought the 10 speed Silverado would have done better.
Justin Reily okay so you get the Ford in 4x4 with the 3.31 gears or better yet 3.55. Same outcome or worse. What’s happening here is the gm under achieves and the Ford over achieves. Also consider that they run nearly identical transmissions but you clearly hear gm’s torque management interfering. That’s the real reason it lost. Gms trans programming stinks. I’ve driven many miles in 6l80e and 6r80 equipped trucks and gm’s shifting is completely artificial feeling there is just not positive engagement. Were as the Ford is quicker and more positive.
Justin Reily, you are so correct. The fact that the gmc had to carry around the extra transfer case is the reason why it lost, if the ford had a 4x4 system in it then the gmc would have completely smoked the f-150.
Stop all the bullshit cheerleading. Drag racing 101...same hp but way lighter is a win everytime. You Ford fanboys need to understand that. Some of the comments are pretty damn funny.
Riley Moberg A couple hundred pounds isn’t going to slow it down a car length 😂 coyote would still win
@@rileymoberg4053 If the Ford were a 4X4 it would likely have had a 3.55 or 3.73 rear end which would probably offset the couple of hundred pound difference the 4X4 system would make. Ford would still have smoked that GMC's ass either way.
Love these simple cut to the chase drag races! Keep it up!

These 3rd gen Coyotes with the 10 speed truly are amazing. This past Friday, I was at Orlando Speedworld in Florida and saw a 2018 F150 5.0 crew cab 2wd with a cold air intake, E85 tune and muffler delete run a 13.1 @ 105. The owner of the truck runs the Mustang Lifestyle youtube channel so I'm sure he'll upload a video on it.
There's a guy on here (Maurice Cooper is the name of his channel) that has a RCSB 2018 5.0 2WD that ran a 13 something bone stock.
Just imagine how quick the 2019 limited will be since it’s getting the raptors 3.5 ecoboost v6 that has 450 hp and 510 lb ft of torque
TLF Truck... Great video guys. This was exactly what I wanted to see. No opinions needed when trying to figure out if the smaller 5.0 with a 4x4 option would have won. There's plenty of videos out there that show this configuration beating other trucks. The 5.0 with 10-speed tranny is a monster combination. While its a little slower than the 3.5 V6, I would still get for that raw V8 sound. Anyways... thanks fellas.
Barbara Schenck actually its just little faster than 3.5 EB. There are videos on YT to prove it

Love our Hemi 💪 Best truck of the bunch
One of the nice things about the Ford is that they will sell you a Coyote in pretty much any body style and trim level. When people complain about the low option F150 being unfair, keep in mind GM only wants to sell 6.2s in up optioned trucks. You can get a light weight, stripper 6.2.
Thank you for giving the people what we all want!! You guys are great!!
I believe the Ford would still take it. Maybe close, but same end result. BLUE OVAL for the win!

I really like the TFL channels and I wonder when are you guys going to move on to 4K format
Not sure most could notice the diff on a computer screen. I don't think my poor 2013 Mac Pro retina display could.
Ahhhh umm most people can't even see a difference. They see 4k so 4k must be good! Good must be better! It's not that big of a deal on 27" or less LCD which is what you have.
1080p to 1440p is easily noticeable on a 24 inch monitor. Many people have 27 inch monitors and 4k on that would be easily noticeable. Also I use an HTPC with a 65 inch screen and can immediately tell when a video on yt switches over to 4k.
@@Chris_Harris this might be true for someone who's watching on a monitor but with a large tv you certainly can see the difference .

Let’s run a 4x4 5.0 and 4x4 6.2. Just to end all. I believe that 5.0 still will win. Probably the most underrated 1/2 ton motor. Sucker runs.

I love reading all the BUTT HURT comments when ford pulls out a win AGAIN lol.
Given a wider track running all 4 side by side it looks like any one of these could be the victor with multiple races! They are all really close!
Would love to see a drag race like this, but with all the trucks ballasted to the exact same weight. then the drag race would become a sort of real world dynamometer; allowing you to compare which truck's drivetrain is putting to most force to the ground.
NOW we’re talking fellas 👌🏾
A 4wd f150 with 3.55 or 3.73 will still probably come out on top. Those trucks leave a lot better than the not heavy 2wd with 3.15 gear
It’s all about power to weight. I wish manufacturers would market their trucks based on that ratio. Loosing weight literally makes everything better. Acceleration, braking, mpg, capacity, longevity..
Hahaha you guys already know we going to ask about Tundra hahaha. Thumbs up👍
TRY to put more the Tundra in your videos...
I count four doors on the f150? And if the Silverado had the closer engine size like the5.3 it would have been beaten by far more truck lengths.

@@shadowwolfmandan Nope, the 5.0 F-150 is rated 3 mpg higher than the Sierra 1500 6.2 with the same cab configuration.
Maybe a dyno would show what the real power is. If it's anything like here in Australia, Ford under rate its power.
Uhhhh a Dyno doesn't show shit. It shows power at the crank, NOT what actually gets to the wheels, NOT what the truck does with the power once it hits the wheels. Dyno just shows you the power that is already advertised AT THE CRANK. Power at the crank means NOTHING.
As for underrated, it makes NO sense. They sell these trucks based on numbers. Whatever power they have at the crank is listed as so. Whatever is at the wheel (two MAJORLY different numbers) they show.
Sheesh pls to be learning about your mechanicals before posting. God, dyno showing real power? Christ that's about the dumbest post I've seen since the beginning of the forum.
@@Chris_Harris wtf are you talking about. A dyno does show you wheel horsepower.
@@sootlifejew Sorry I thought you said an engine dyno. People keep bringing it up. Perhaps to the wheel in a perfect world and doesn't include a single environmental issue which IS a deal. That is to say, I know my F-150 falls behind on a particular road side by side with a Chevy because the weight loss actually causes my tires to spin with the grade we're racing on. There are more places than that too. My Ford beats its ass most of the time however it loses too.
The point? Dyno numbers are something you put up and smile. Anyone who actually races knows much better than to rely on dyno results. This whole exercise shows that dyno numbers mean nothing because all the bigger engines with larger dyno numbers...they lost.
@@Chris_Harris A drag race is just as pointless as a dyno if you are going to argue like that. That’s not the point. A dyno can show you which car makes the most power and it matters just as much or as little as a drag race depending on how you look at it. Do you know that there are dyno competitions just like there are drag racing competitions?
@@tubechap8424 Except the Drag Race is indicative of what's happening in the real world. A dyno doesn't show that. All a dyno shows is the weight/speed/torque to get a set of tires to a set speed on a particular dyno's wheel with several assumptions like 7200RPM being about IT as far as where your power/weight/safety drops off. They're built with set power/air intake/fuel intake/about twenty points of temperature/timing etc. Also, 99% of the dynos can't handle a rotary car or any race car for that very matter because dyno's don't do well at 10,000 rpm.
A full dyno is great at showing cars all at the same point on a wheel but they don't show how that car responds to moving on uneven surfaces, hell a WHOLE ton of things like keeping oil and other fluids pumping correctly when you're bumping and jerking around. There are literally a million things that change the performance of a vehicle that a dyno doesn't show. Sorry but dyno's are nice to paint a number on your car or truck but they have literally no bearing on what happens on the street.
In fact, any dyno shop MUST street tune a car after they dyno it because so many of the metrics change while a car is driving and in motion.
Very nice. Id still say that Ram & Sierra are quick enough. The real test now would be some mpg runs with the new styles. Also having some new *dynamic 5.3l tests* would be cool too.
Just got a 2019 regular cab 2wd F150 V8. I traded my Hemi Dodge Ram (2wd rc 6.4 box), in which I installed the 4.10 axle out of the R/T of 2010, and was amazed at how much quicker the Ford is - especially the 50-80mph passing. No wonder with twice the gears, and it weighs only about 4300lbs - 450lbs less than the Dodge Ram.
Yes Ford!!!!! Sweet
Pretty amazing Ford's 3rd most powerful engine still whoops the competitions most powerful engines.
When it comes to trucks, no one has more history, knowledge, and reputation like Ford. The rest are just copy cats who wait for ford to do something revolutionary so they can make cheap knock offs.
Since when was the Coyote 3rd most powerful? I mean yeah, Ford does shit on everything right now (and I love it because im a Ford guy) but the 5.0L makes the most horsepower of any current F-150 engine at 395hp and the ties the 2.7L Ecoboost in peak torque at 400lb/ft albeit a little higher up in the rev band.
If you're talking max hp it's 2nd only to the Raptor. Unless you're including the new 7.3 V8 but that's not available in the F-150.

Given the parameters you asked for.... The f150 with V-8 4x4 with a 3.73 rear end (closest match to the competitor) I believe it would win by even a wider margin. A 3.73 will make a large difference in a drag race vs a 3.13. more than make up the difference of the additional weight of the front end differential. I didn't buy my 2015 f-150 3.5 TT 3.31 rear for drag racing; but tows and hauls like a dream. NEVER have run out of power up largest hills & mountains. Empty it fly's. LOL. The 5.0 Coyote is so much faster than the 5.3L trucks, it's not even close. Not saying you didn't win a race but clearly there's other unstated factors involved, Like the F150 could have been much heavier, with less gear and big heavy wheels and tires, and/or he got a poor launch, and so on and so on. There are so many different factors and variations and then you add in mods, etc,. it changes everything. But all things being mostly equal, the Ford Coyote trucks are MUCH faster then the 5.3 Chevy's.

Even if the ford had 4x4 it would still win. Here in this video the truck had a gearing disadvantage since it was a fuel efficiency model. The 4x4 will have better gearing than this 2wd. It can be optioned with 3.55 or 3.73.

I love watching your videos and getting to see these trucks do there thing. My biggest problem here is when I see these head to heads it never seems fair one truck always has some sort of advantage. Now a fair fight would be all trucks being 2 wheel drive only and all having similar gears, 3.55 and let's not forget v8's. Then let's see who wins. I have to say there is something about each truck that I love so it would be cool to see an even match up. I loved the video but again I knew who was going to win before you ever got started.

AJ 0311 You chevy fan boys keep crying, only to have chevy copy ford 5 years later.
@@tutoplis245 speaking of bigger and heavier, how's your wife doing?
@@tutoplis245 never mind I'll ask her later
AeonKage AeonKage you been coming up with that reply for the last 10 months? You probably could have done a google search and found something better. From the post on your profile I can see all that guitar hero you've been playing haven't been paying off, I've heard more musical talent in an elementary school music classes. Speaking of my wife, she did mention a handy capped adult that shit his pant in a Mall play room that she had rendered assistance to. From your comment I'm assuming it was you, you get all that crap cleaned up? I'm wait 10 months for your response.
I like GMC or Chevy, but F150 won the race.
Are you running them with traction control on? Have you tried it without TC?
The Coyote is underrated on horsepower this year.Just like the Mustang. Let's not forget if you know anything about Drag Racing. The higher rpm motor will always benefit more by more rear gear. What was in the ford 315 gears lol enough said!! I sure you guys are smart enough to figure out the rest!
Coyote would've still won.
the coyote did win....???
4x4 nope
Loaded 4x4 f150 with 3.73 gears would still win
thanks guys
In other words buy a 5.0 and forget about the 6.2 boat anchor lol😂🤣
Can't mess with FORD regardless of Coyote or EcoBoost
All these trucks are good. Very difficult to choose a truck when you are in the market. Ford and GM do it the best with the variety of power plants.
I like them all, but.......
F150 is #1 for a reason.
I agree, they are all very good. My preference is the GMC, but I REALLY wish they would let that 6.2 roll out in trim levels below the top...
Yea, number one due to fleet sales!
@@ShyaMiss i know its much heavier, but that gmc has to have some ridiculous restrictions on the 6.2 motor to lose to the f150. Im a ford guy myself (but currently own a tahoe) and would I buy a f150 first? Yes because I love them and its a much more raw feeling v8. But it would be interesting to see how beastly that 6.2 would be if gm released its full potential, or at least gave the option the way ford does on the end of the shifter to use sport mode. Who else agrees?
@@peytonhoward that 6.2 is really held back with the stock tuning. The amount of torque management is RIDICULOUS. To be honest, I dont understand why they do it to such an extent. They dont have to put a "hotrod" tune in them, but simply backing off on the torque management can REALLY improve the overall driveability. I have had a few of them, and they all gained mpg and dramatically better throttle response, with just a mild tune. Ford and Dodge both do it better than GM, in that regard.
@@ShyaMiss I agree. My dad has a 2018 5.3 silverado and I have a 2005 tahoe with the 5.3 and even though there is a power difference over the years you can definitely feel that gm let the engines run much less restricted back then. A simple minor tune would make it a whole different animal. Im sure its quite a bit different than the 6.2 though.
2.93 rear end in the Titan?? Never heard of such a tall final drive
They used to come geared way up like that back in the gas crunch era of the early 1970's to try and help conserve fuel consumption, but performance REALLY REALLY suffered in those smogger trucks back then seeing as they volume selling V8's barely made 150hp and had as little a 3-Speeds in the transmissions, for anything remotely resembling performance back then you had get the big block engine which even then maybe made 230hp on a good day with a 4-Speed manual. They were beautiful in design, but that truly was the dark ages for any kind of performance, I'm surprised anything modern uses a ratio that low since we are living in the era of more gears.
Transfer case front driveshaft and front differential weigh maybe 250lbs why don’t you throw 300lbs of sand in the bed and race them again,,you forget Ford invested in Aluminum that’s why it’s lighter not because it’s 2wd.
Great Video. It is nice to see that Ford pound those big V8s.
FORD!! now everyone can stop crying
Found On the Road Dead
@@RevolutionRoad wow 2 years later
The thing with the 5.0 is that it's a mustang engine that was tweaked to be put in the truck unlike the previous engine like the 4.6 which was originally a truck engine tweaked to be put in the mustang.
For truck drag racing powered away is really important but its more wheel torque to weight ratio that's why having a 4.10 diff with a really light truck can get off the line a lot quicker
You would have the same results if it was the 4 by 4 F150 the coyote was the only one that gave the 3.5 eco-boost a run for it’s money in your previous video!!!
HaHa, no surprise, Ford spanks 'em all again... Next.
I'm just wondering what would it happen if you test all this trucks against the high output F-150 limited, very good video by the way.
Nice work guys 👍
GM lost last round and got butt hurt so they said ford cheated well Ford won again so I wonder what there going to say this time??
Tristan Scott Ford was 600 pounds less then the gmc 😂😂

There is not enough difference in the drag racing Department to worry about anyting. All of these trucks will do the job you want to do
Until I the first GM vs Ford race, I though Andre might have needed his foot recalibrated! haha
Actually the Ford Limited with the Raptor powerplant is the most powerful truck by quite a bit. It would Destroy GM, even if you had everyone in it.
Why has nobody ever raced a Chevy Reaper against a Ford Raptor? I cannot find a single video on this comparison. Would love to see those two go head to head.
@@tubewatcher5012 Because it is not a factory truck
@@jailman1 Dang it!
Give it up! Missing a front differential wouldn't change anything. The 5.0 is a revving beast.
Go ahead fellow GMC'ers make all the excuses you can come up with. It just won't change anything...
The smallest engine kicking ass
Arrr arrr-Ed Bundy style. That Titan sound good.
