- Back on the water combining Creature baits and Ned Rigs. Using Zman TRD CrawZ creature bait soft plastics rigged on a Ned Rig. A simple fishing technique which works great. Buoyant soft plastics stand upright getting the attention of passing fish. Works great on saltwater and freshwater species.

Just wanted to say, "thank you for the content." I am in the mid Atlantic area of the United States. It's nice to see that fisherman all over deal with the same things. It's also nice to see you not editing out all of your mishaps like missed or lost fish. It's also interesting to see the terminology that is the same but also what is different.
Thank you, yeah I think its important for the content to be relatable to show some of those mishaps because everyone will go through them even very experienced anglers
This is an angler who doesn't get tired of watching Healthy always my brother success always my brother I hope the channel continues to grow in the future
Been enjoying painting my own Jigheads lately. I don't know if it attracts more fish but it sure attracts me. Thanks for the video.
Yeah I agree painted jig heads look awesome. Ive painted some to match the soft plastic colour and they look amazing. Agree there prob for the angler and not the fish
Nice session there Alan, well done 👏 it was a Flathead galore spot that one 😁😃ciao ciao have a good one 👋👋💪
Thanks 👍 Mario !! It sure is a productive flathead area
sunrise, thanks Al
Thankyou for the content. I enjoy the attention to detail and how you articulate the what, how and why of the situations on you channel. Just found it, subbed mate. Cheerio.
I appreciate that! Thanks for the sub and hope you enjoy the other content on the channel. Lots of how to stuff aswell
Another awesome video Alan. I’ve never fished the Ned rig, will have to give it a shot
Thanks Jared, yeah something different that seems to work well.
Nice catches Alan, I bottom bounce the same setup down my rivers and creeks for small mouth bass here in the states. Only issue I have is the plastics Zman use to make the trd does not like other plastics.
Thanks David !! Gotta love targeting Bass. The bass fishing is really only starting to take of in Aus with stocking becoming more common. The strikes are amazing
Nice session Alan !!
Glad you enjoyed it !!
Awesome mate! Thanks
Thanks !!
You got some flash action going there,,,,,,, Alan ,,
Thanks Peter !!
TWIN RIVERS BREAM CLASSIC 2022
Coming up real soon. Wil the Fishingmad brand ambassador and finesse genius be representing Alan?
Edit: if any of your viewers are looking for something to do next week and want a shot to win a 27k boat I think enrolments are still open.
Id love to get up there but very short notice and have existing filming arrangements already booked. Its a beautiful place and by all reports a really well run competition. Hopefully can schedule that into my plans next year and certainly encourage others to get involved.
@@fishingmad yep, I am surprised they have not reached out to the 'influencer' community to get entries. They could easily throw a couple of bucks discount to every ticket sold through a channel and reach a huge market. They are still using roadside signs.... maybe something to reach out to them about next time. I haven't seen any fishing channels mentioning it despite being one of Victoria's biggest comps.
I'll be sure to burley up a secret spot for you.
Have you ever used a bake casting rod real combo to catch bream? Also have you ever fished in South Australia at all waters Rivers and creeks? Do you also take on lessons?
Nah I dont use baitcasters for bream, I find spin outfits to be lighter and easier to use which is perfect for bream. I ten to use baitcasters more for species like yellowbelly, cod, bass and redfin.
Thanks for the very informative video Alan. I am just getting in to using soft plastics to catching Reddies in Lake Hume (traditional bait fisherman) so I am keen to try out the Ned Rigs. Just wondering what size rig you were using in the video? Thanks.
Your welcome, this was a 1/10 ounce size 1 hook. Hope that helps
Gday alan i think this is a great invitation to kayak fisherman, in general how many days per week do you get on the water thanks in advance.. really just curious, ive found kayak fishing exiting and a heap of fun, but sometime the weather can curve your motivation.
Hi Zach, im generally out on the water 2-3 days a week, gets a bit tougher in winter with the cold weather. Wait for that warmer weather and youll be very keen to get out as often as you can
Great video Alan, does water clarity come into play with the UV orange ned rig, and is it good, in both clear and dirty water? or do you use it just for certain conditions, great work champion,
I've used them in both conditions and didn't see to much difference. I think this technique is effective more because it of the way it makes the soft plastic upright and flutter in the water
@@fishingmad thanks mate, appreciate the advice,
No probs !!
Subbed and I'm off to BCF 🤣
Brilliant, Thanks.
New sub! Liked 🙏🎃☀️
Awesome! Thank you!
Hi Alan.awesome session can i use soft plastic on bait and wait fishing on paternoster rig
Yeah you can, and you will pick up a few whilst drifting, but much more effective if you work them
great videos man what sounder are you using, looking to get one for my tinny. (mainly portphillip and the murray)
Lowrance Elite Ti2, has recently been superseded by the Lowrance elite FS series.
@@fishingmad any cheaper ones that you would reccomend?
The cheaper alternatives include Lowrance Hook Reveal. There good for the price you pay but the transducer readings aren't as good as the higher models. Also the Garmin Echo Map UHD are worth a look.
Got a hook reveal 2 on my kayak, I’m impressed with it, the higher models will no doubt be better, but it tells the depth, finds fish and structure has sidescan on the tripleshot genesis live mapping which gives more detail, gps mapping…. Sounders have got a lot in them now
Fish a plenty, much cheaper than a crankacrab, similar kind of effect.
How far offshore do you feel comfortable going, looks a long way out.
Very true about the cost. Generally on the yak we go about 1 kilometer or so out. for whiting and flathead you can usually stay in close and fish the 3-5 meter deep area
Nothing more frustrating than having nothing when around you others pulling in snappers ...need help in learning why.
Yeah prob the most frustrating thing of fishing is watching other near you catch, Are you bait fishing or plastics for snapper. Bait fishing often its the key of understanding where they are on the sounder and knowing how to anchor in the right spot.
