Wonderful review, Spencer. So glad to have you back and to know you have a purpose designed workspace in which to build. So looking forward to your future videos. Welcome back!
Hi Spencer, really great to meet you at Telford. You are a true gent and unlike other sort of names in our hobby made me feel normal and that was nice ! Thank-you so much and good luck with the busy period around Christmas etc . Stay safe
Glad to have another video. Really enjoyed seeing the new work space and got some ideas from it for a redesign of my own. Was expecting it to be Mark II, but can live with the more modern 2.0 designation. Looking forward to seeing the next one. Enjoy your brand of realistic assessment without negativity.
Welcome back, Mr. Pollard. It was with great pleasure that I saw that you had returned with a new video. As usual, your production, content, and overall quality are above average. I like your new "shed" location, and I am pleased that you have made it more versatile and comfortable. Your review of the latest Tamiya offering was well organized, and the still photos of the parts mentioned in your narrative were a welcomed detail feature. Looking forward to your next production release as I am quickly becoming an admirer of your work. Thanks again.
Great to see a new video Spencer :D My friend had a chance to see this first hand when Tamiya announced it at the show, and when he told me all the features Tamiya put into it I was 100% sold. Now seeing and hearing your thoughts, I think I'm going to pre order one so I can get it right away. I'm very excited about the engineering that's gone into this kit. The only thing I'm not happy about are the Tamiya decals. I've had too many problems with them in the past, so I'm going to have fun hunting for another scheme :D Thanks for the review!
Do you have any advice on how to get them to conform better to the surface? I saw your Ki-61 and was amazed how flat they were on the surface, and that they were nicely in the panel recesses. When I build their 1:32 Spitfire Mk IXc, I tried getting them to conform and they just cracked. I had to use thinner spare roundels for the underside of the wings.
Hi Spencer, welcome back. just seeing your review, I can't wait till it comes out in Australia. I'll certainly be getting one, can't wait till the release.
I guess im asking the wrong place but does anybody know a method to log back into an instagram account? I was stupid forgot my account password. I would appreciate any assistance you can give me.
@Hugh Jadiel I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site on google and I'm in the hacking process atm. Seems to take quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I agree with you 100%, Tamiya did an excellent job with this BF109 kit. I liked it so much, I bought 3 kits and will build them out for all 3 markings that Tamiya has in the kit.
Congrats on the new digs Spencer! Having spent two years in Suffolk County and its winters I can't imagine working in a shed during one of them anywhere in England. Probably going to get one of the Tamiya 109Gs but love the Eduard surface treatments and Photo etch additions which would have to be added to the Tamiya kit. Price will also be a factor.
You've been missed. Great assessment of Tamiya's kit philosophy. Glad you mentioned the passing of Dick Ward, one of the cornerstones of our hobby. I too call my modelling room in the house the shed
Spencer. What happened to the Wingnut Wings Dolphin article? I live in the states and have to buy from the newsstand. I have been disappointed for the past two months when I pull the latest edition from the rack only to find no article. May's issue gives no indication as to whether we can expect the article. BTW, I enjoy your videos they are well done. I feel the about MAI.
Nice review and video! Interesting point regarding having a model to fit all ages/abilities. I like it, but my only criticism to it is that in having a kit engineered to a point that is detailed enough for professionals, whilst being easy enough to slot together for beginners, a degree of challenge is lost for the professionals whilst a massive price tag is incurred for the newbies. That might put them off building more. All the same, interesting point, nice video, nice work!
Where did those storage cabinets come from behind you?, the one with the door looks like it would be great to hide away glues/sprays from the kids/pets etc.
Thanks Simon...I had been on Ikeas site 4-5 times in the past week and must have looked at these a dozen times. How I never realised they are the same things is beyond me, cheers once again.
Spencer a reviewer that I respect mentioned the Tamiya’s “toylike” features. Do you believe some of the features justify such an appraisal? I think the reviewer was being nit-picky and/or hostile.
The Eduard 1/48 kit has a too deep rear fuselage, and gear legs that are both 2 mm too long and too skinny to be G-6 model gear legs (they are F legs, but still way too long). The Tamiya windscreen is much more accurate than either the Zvezda or the Eduard, and the Tamiya kit provides two of them, so you can dress up the other models with it (preferably to make a Zvezda G-2). Tamiya, aside the dreadful old 1979 Revell G-10, is the only manufacturer to ever provide in 1/48 the correct gear length and correctly thick post G-2 gear legs, an absolutely massive and obvious visual feature... The Eduard Bronze legs are thicker, but still 2 mm too long... The reality is if you want an accurate Post Emil Me-109 in 1/48 there is only one kit on offer. The 1/48 Hasegawas are nowhere near the more recent offers in fuselage accuracy, and the nose length issue is the least of their infinite litany of problems.

Nice to meet you too - always great to chat to other modellers! :)

I've never had a problem with Tamiya decals, but I certainly understand that others may have. There are millions of options elsewhere!

Really enjoyed the review. First time watching your channel. Have subscribed and looking forward to seeing more in the future, Thanks

Very nice, thanks for sharing.
Looking forwards to this one as well. Did you see their Kawasaki Ki 61-I kit (also a recent Tamiya 1/48 release)?
Yeah - I built one for Model Airplane International magazine's November 2017 issue - and it's another fantastic kit!
Nice review and video! Interesting point regarding having a model to fit all ages/abilities. Good point and one that I will consider discussing in a future video. Cheers! :)
That would be good. Another video idea if you're taking suggestions, maybe talking a bit about the future of the hobby?
As usual nice review and always interesting. Looking forward to your build of the Me 109. Thanks again.

Mac ikea, I have the same ones (kallax).

Great echo. Get a microphone. Your videos are too good to have poor audio. Love the magazine!!!!!
Odd - I can't hear an echo, it sounds perfectly fine to me, both through my iMac speakers and headphones..!
Where is that Fucking book on the Italiari 1/32 Tornado !!!! ????
Did you order one?
