Hello Ray! Thank you so much for the detailed review. Love the comparison part, the audio is clear.👍👍
Thanks! Yes, nice, and clear! There's a lot of value with everything that comes with your Kit. Plus, it's a simple Drag and Drop process to get your Recordings off the Transmitters and I appreciate that. Looking forward to seeing your future releases.
Your extensive efforts are mucyh-appreciated! I've had the original Comica Boom set for a few years and they have done very well. Trying to figure out whether of these systems (as well as the DJI system) is actually better in terms of audio quality. Thank you.
So... confession. I just bought the DJI mic set. Is it too soon to for me to compare more mics? Lol
Thanks fro the review and testing. I have been looking to replace my aging Sennheiser ew100 G2 (one transmitter & one receiver). The antennas are starting to show bare metal and will need to replace the lav mic soon. Again thanks and sorry about the light failing you :)
Thanks Lester! I would also look into the DJI lav mics. I don't personally have them (because I have all these other sets) but I hear lots of good things about them!
Hey, Lester, I know that EW mic well, and have also had one for years. Still a hard to beat wireless system.
@@mikegobig I agree with you. But as things age, I'm always looking at what is available that could replace when they quit.
Hey Ray, lovely review!
When you record on the transmitters without using the receiver, does the transmitter record a safety track or no?
This is a great test, I find the Rode sounded better in each scenario. They also recently released a firmware update to enable "press to record" instead of it just always being on. Super handy
I think so too. I wish my Deity mic recorded so I could've included it. But I just upgraded to that Rode firmware, and totally started to make a video about it... then 2 actors dumped their canoe on a show I was shooting...and they were wearing my Rode WiGoII kit and lavs. So the production bought me new mics and I went with the DJI. Don't tell anybody. I haven't shared this info on the channel yet, except in this super private conversation we're having here in the comments (But I switched transmitters to DJi ) although, at the time of this comment, they don't make Lavs so I got 2 more Rode Lav Go. So it still sounds like my Rode lavs, but way more options, no app to mess with, and the recordings are drag and drop. Plus the RX has a touchscreen for all the customization.
@@RayValencia Those DJI ones seem pretty darn good, I may have gone with those over Rode if they were out. I love the Rode Lav Go. I've got 2 of them, but just now had an issue with one where I think the wire got a bit pinched and it cuts in and our randomly. Still, they are awesome. Would love to see you put out a DJI vid. Keep up the great work dude.
The clock or church bells made my day
Haha, thanks...the usual stuggles of trying to film videos outside, lol.
nice test when you use rode mike on other systems. thanks
Thanks! But I can't take the credit for the idea. That test was requested by one of my subscribers.
Good review. The 7RYMS sounded ok but Rode was a little better. I currently have the Comica X-D2 Pro system but I'm finding that the internal recordings are very low volume and I have to boost the volume in post quite a bit. Did you find any differences in the internal volumes of the recordings between these three systems?
You are lucky to have found those Comica mics in stock!!
Yes! The Rode always came in louder. The audio waveforms looked like mountains versus hills. I just did some tests with Rode and Deity XLR shotgun mics and I'm finding the same results. Video coming soon...
@dkeberhard on a scale of 1 - 10 how do you like the comica?
Which has better latency? Thats my main concern as audio can be tweaked in post if needed. But latency can lead to super annoying sync issues.
Rode has the least latency
Thanks for the thirteen minute advertisement for 7RYMS.
If you're not a subscriber and you're just finding THIS video, then you're welcome to check out my older videos on the Rode and Comica. This video does introduce the newer 7RYMS mics. But yeah, It would be nice if someone paid me to make these videos...but they don't. I showed the bad parts too, like when it was cutting out and had interference issues, and I gave you a direct comparison against other brands so you have everything you need to judge for yourself brother.
Comica have different sound with different own cables. Orange cable for Panasonic - more treble (like in your test), and black for Canon - more bass. Try different cables.
Seriously?? I did not know that! Thank you. I've been using the Sony Cable. I'll have to compare those other cables.
Ну ты и красавчик!
If you could only pick 1 comica boom xd pro or 7ryms dw30?
Comica BoomX-D2 Pro
@@RayValencia please share your reason for your choice.i'm in a dilemma. somebody is making a purchase for me and i'm too far to return it if i don't like it.
@edem duku a big reason is the shirt clip on the 7RYMS doesn't fit in a Cold Shoe Mount so I'm always clipping the Receiver onto an HDMI cable or something, which is not ideal. The Rode and Comica fit onto the cold shoe which makes them easier to mount.
@@RayValencia thank you very much but my focus is the sound. i've be using it mainly with an iphone
@@edemduku3391 ahg, ok. If we are going just by Sound, then Rode.
The road produces a relatively clear sound, but you don't have a range test
I cut it out due to the amount of interference I had when I filmed the tests. The audio was Unusable for the majority (except the Rode remained perfect). I only briefly mentioned this at the end of the video, but the Rode outperformed the other 2 sets in distance and no interference problems. I had all 3 transmitters turned on, clipped on me at once when I filmed the tests, which caused the issue, but the 7RYMS had like 10-15 second long dropouts. The Comica would spurt little drops here and there. And the Rode stayed rock solid until about 300 feet. The good thing about all of them, is the backup recording feature so I use them without the receiver soemtimes just as a mini standalone recorder.
