Thank you for a wonderful tour, I never realized the size of this historic location. Your travels are so interesting it makes you feel like you actually got to visit through your lens. PS I ordered a shirt and can't wait.
Carriage ride was beautiful Has to be reserved in person for that day. You can pick time slot. They can sell out in the first 15 mins of opening. 10-4pm every 20 mins going around a loop. If you are staying in their hotel, concierge can reserve it for you. Got there before the doors open and reserved my ride for 60$ for 2 person open carriage. You can ask what type of carriage are available but seem like they also consider size of your party. Dont forget to take pictures before you get off at the end. The gentleman took some very nice photos of us in the carriage in different angles.
Bit late to the party here, but anyway - as an Aussie that English part of the old American flag is refered to as the Union jack. But thanks for the video - I love it. Would love to go for a look in person one day.
@@WalkwithHistory - what can I say I love a good bit of social history like this. Each to their own but 1 knows the potholes in their local area are bad when they want to bring back the stockings loooooool. I love the stockings / tights especially on boys and young men. Bring them back.
That is such a good tip about where to park. I would love to make it back here again. So many good tips here. Especially about the flags. Love your channel. Keep it up. You all are going places
You are going to love it. It is truly one of my favorite historical areas. Watch our review of Jamestown (there are 2 locations, the actual archaeological area and the recreated museum), and then Yorktown!! It is so fun to drive the battlefield, make the drive out to Washington’s camp! You won’t be disappointed!! Thank you for watching.
So beautiful! You may have said, if you did, I missed it. But can you go through it in a day or should you really plan on more time to adequately experience everything?
I would honestly say there’s enough for a solid 2 days (if you go to some of the museums there too). One day would be a tight fit to try and see everything 😊
One of my favorite vacations! Another top tip: if you stay at Colonies at Williamsburg, be warned! This is a lovely property. We stayed there in 2019. A warning! Please do not get snagged by the Concierge. She or he will offer you tickets to Old Williamsburg for just 90 minutes of your time. We fell for it. We were lied to by our sales agent Jackie, convinced to buy and now we our out $45K, all of our savings. My husband is a 100% service connected Vietnam Vet. I have been contacting the CEO's of VV for months with no response. Enjoy the property but go through Airbnb or some other rental and do not buy!!
Just a warning, if you're looking for a true depiction of Colonial history, watch for the agenda to turn it into a history of slavery. I'm certainly not in favor of slavery, but I recognize the danger of "presentism" (forcing current understanding on characters of the past.) This wasn't as bad as Monticello but I did learn to be choosy about tours.

Awesome. So glad. We love Colonial Williamsburg.
Besides the flower given to you by your lovely daughter , walking where Thomas Jefferson once walked is amazing. That's history.
Cheers y'all.
It is an amazing place to see. I love it. Thank you for watching.
Thank you so much for this video!! We appreciate your parking recommendation so much!
Thank you. I learned the hard way the first time. The bus is fine but so much easier to walk from a closer location. I hope you had a good time.
& the fact about the oysters. So interesting!

You are 💯 correct on that! We just stayed there this past weekend (video coming) and I barely got a carriage ride…but we got one. Great tip!! 😁🙌🏻

The two museums are a missing highlight of your vlog! They are AMAZING!
They will definitely be highlighted in the next year. We are not done with Williamsburg!!!!
Another place you have visited that is on my bucket list. P

This is awesome. Just found the chan. Planning on going to the historic triangle this winter....it makes sense for a history major like myself. 🤓

Definitely worth buying the ticket. The tours and buildings are only available to ticket holders.
Agree! 😊

Oh no that is so scary. You may want to escalate that and contact the local news.
huh wtf
Remember that tickets are required for entrance to any site with the flag flying outside the building.
Yes thank you for the reminder at the 6:23 mark in the video it is stated that you need a ticket to go in the building unless it is a gift shop. 👍

Yes, you may find that everywhere. We never experienced that while in Williamsburg, but it does happen.
